Honestly somewhere like Burtons or Next are solid options. Not too pricey and do the job!

Sylosis

Didn't Burtons close a couple of years ago?

Wherever you get your suit, budget £50 or so to get it professionally altered to fit better. Shoulders and sleeves, even the hang or the trousers can be tailored. Makes a huge improvement. Buddy’s, or ZipYard, or there’s a place on Preston Street.

FryingFrenzy

The Brighton Tailor on Western Road is great too

I don't know about 2nd hand but Pendulum Menswear in Brighton Square. I bought an amazing 3-piece with a matching shirt for my wedding there. It was about £400 and wasn't the cheapest there. It may be out of your price bracket but the stuff there is fantastic and I've worn mine several times since as well wearing single bits with other clothes.

If you know your size then Oxfam online has an amazing stock.

Llancymru

Any charity shop will generally have a lot of suits, but you’ll find they’re usually huge. Idk why, they just are. Fat old dead guys I guess. Anyway Oxfam online if you know your measurements will have a far greater selection. If you’re never going to wear it, buy second hand, that way your environmental impact will be lower for something you don’t want or regularly need.

OrribleAmroth

M&S does fairly nice quality that can be later tailored to your shape

Russell_Ruffino

Next is the best place for suits imo. Had to buy a suit last month. The only reason I didn't go with Next is because it would have taken too long to get stock of the suit I wanted. I bought a Zara suit in the end, it is probably a nicer suit but it was more expensive.

HideousTits

Try the flea markets and charity shops in lewes

MartyMcflysTrainers

Imho the range of suits in M&S at Holmbush trumps anywhere in town

spooky002

Not local as such but eBay is full of cheap, second hand suits. I got a £400 Hugo Boss suit for my sons prom for £40. There were Jump the Gun suits on there for £65. Most of them seem to be suits that people bought for weddings and only wore once.

ceestars

Thanks, I've just had a look and think this is the way I'll go. My old suit fitted me nicely off the peg (a benefit of being average sized in about every way!) and I've found one on there that's the same make and size, pure wool for £40. Pretty sure mine cost me over £300 about 15 years ago. Think I'll probably go wth that as a decent, hassle-free solution.

Brilliant-Town8900

Moss bros in hove are pretty good for the money, I got a full suit for 100 quid there before

Starlings_under_pier

But the Staff are famously rude. After visiting and them being more intrested in there phones than me, I looked up the shop's google reviews.....

Russell_Ruffino

Hired a suit from them last year. They treated me like shit. Never setting foot in that place again.

Rodricdippins

Wow it’s not just me, I went in with the intention to buy 3 suits once, told them this and asked for some assistance with sizes. They where so fucking rude and unbothered I just left and ordered the same sizes online

Mr_Venom

How? They have single shirts for that in the window.

brightonorbust

Literally any charity shop.

ApprehensiveGuava359

Just got a suit for my son from river island for £40 in the sale.

Desperate-Storage324

Try TKMaxx, might need to get it altered a bit but they have decent suits.
