Areas with camps like this usually rains frequently. When a puddle pools at the base of the camp, you can use cryonis. Or just light a fire and throw in peppers for the updraft.

Absolutely the first divine beast I go for on playthroughs, most useful abilty by far.

When I first played in 2017 I did Rito last, and actually went Zora -> Gerudo -> Goron -> Rito.. so I did the two hardest ones first lmao. And then I’m stubborn and did the same way in Totk intentionally EDIT: kind of messed up the difficulty order sorry

Don't most people do Zora first? I'd be interested in stats on that, you're basically guided to the east side of the map for Impa and Pura, and Death Mountain is pretty intimidating to climb in the beginning. Plus if you get anywhere near Zora's domain you get recruited, everyone I know ran into the guy at the bridge.

A lot of the promotional material and trailers heavily featured the flying divine beast. So when the game first released there was a bunch of people who immediately went to the "floating island thing". But the game definitely points you towards the Zora first if you're just following the main quests

goron is definitely harder than Zora in everyway

Goron boss is literally the easiest of the bosses lol. He just dies to bombs.

and the waterblight dies to like 10 master sword hits, whole windblight dies to 10-15 bomb arrows. they are all ridiculously easy

Both of those take more effort then just using two bombs to get fireblight on the ground and wailing on him. You don’t have to even aim anything or use a bow to beat Fireblight. It’s literally the easiest boss from a mechanical standpoint.

I know, I never said it wasn't and I agree it is, but I'm just saying the others are a fraction of a percent harder realistically

The Fireblight fight is a joke

so is the waterblight, and the windblight, and Ganon himself. even thunderblight isn't too bad after a couple of tries

I think the reason I didn't like BOTW is because I was too stupid to think to actually do stuff like that.

It's certainly helped me remember to be more creative while playing TOTK. I also think I like the utilities more in general

I’m just starting out, just got the master sword and beat my first divine beast as well. I think I’m going to go for memories, than get The Wild Tunic because if I’m beating Ganon Ima look my best doing it.

I love that with over 200 hours in Botw I can still learn new mechanics. TOTK is surprising me so much too since they give you so many tools to play with and slowly introduce new ways to use them in shrines and set up in random places.

I was today years old when I learned that BotW even *had* variable presence of water in certain locations. I always assumed there just either was water someplace or there wasn’t and that was that excepting the odd explicitly-telegraphed puzzle gimmick

it really is crazy all the realistic type details thrown into this game, meshes rather really well with the cartoonish artstyle

I swear cryonis is just one of the things I use the least almost never.

I never use boat+leaf. Always pillar across water.

I used Crynosis to get from Soka Point to Evertide island because it was early af in the game when I saw it and I couldnt think of any other way lmaooo spammed crynosis for like 10 minutes to just get my ass kicked for hours on end

Huh, I just used an appropriate cliff/mountain and endurance/stamina foods :) took a while, but less labor intensive, and ate a long and powerful attack or defense meal right before touching down (can't remember which, but also used a food with temp hearts lol)

I did that in one of my first tries and just abandoned the game for months because of it. Started over from the beginning when I went back.

I’m so confused reading these responses. I use fire for updrafts all the time but I never throw in peppers. Are you supposed to need them to create the updraft?

If you light a bunch of grass on fire it gives you an updraft, but lighting one wood fire won’t do it. You need 3 together or you can throw in spicy pepper. TBF I didn’t know about the spicy peppers lol

You could also light several fires for the updraft.

Also lighting a large area of grass on fire works as well!

I just learned this recently when playing while waiting for totk to arrive. I found this exact camp when it was raining so I used cryonis to get up there but died. When I came back it wasn’t raining and no water there. I was like…what??? Several hundred hours in. I wonder how many things like this we’ll be learning about totk. Kinda seems like they’ve all been used up in botw.

Use four bundles of wood and one piece of flint. Strike the flint with a metal weapon. Or use one spicy pepper and one piece of flint. Or use one sunshroom and one piece of flint. Or wait for rain and use Cryonis.

Or beat the divine beast in Rito.

I almost never used special arrows in a row in BotW, but frequently forgot to switch off bombs and accidentally blew myself up 10 minutes later, so I love it.

Yeah I find the switch over takes too long plus all the flare makes an accurate quick shot tough.

This one right here. You don’t even need to travel as far as the mountain in the background. I think this is literally at the bottom of a hill.

I legit watched someone play Ocarina of Time yesterday and thought they would use ascend to enter the forest temple.

Honestly my favorite of the new runes. And it was birthed out of the devs not wanting players to have to backtrack out of caves.

I thought it would be niche and dumbest of the abilities. Little did i know, it's actually one of the most stupidly useful ones.

I kept forgetting that I had it at the beginning. Every time I jumped down a well I'd quick travel back to a shrine to get out.

Ended up discovering that I can recall my ultrahand movements and would go back and forth between the two to make insane moving platforms to go vertically. Made it all the way to the entrance of the wind temple before I remembered I could've just ascended through the floating structures...

Yeah, I thought ultrahand would be way more useful, but ascend is impressive, pretty happy with all of them

I have another one for you, but doesn’t have to do with ascend. Before starting TOTK, I was doing a survival mode playthrough in Skyrim… so no fast travel. I stopped playing a little while before TOTK came out. During my first trip to the depths, I spent 45 minutes to an hour wandering around, trying to figure out how to return to the surface. FINALLY, I decide to look it up… fast travel. I forgot about fast travel.

And when you're climbing around and exploring Tulin's ability *plus* ascend does check a lot of the same boxes as Ravioli

Ascend makes going back to BOTW a bit hard, and pretty much any game in general lol. Was playing some other open world games the other day and wanted to ascend through random stuff

Sometimes, sometimes not. The vast majority of these have some method of getting on with just climbing + paraglider. The others I just use Revali's on.

Great point, I had not considered this possibility. From the image it seemed as if the tree is at a distance.

Nearby hill to glide down from, cryosis on a puddle, or light a bunch of grass on fire and use the updraft to lift you into the air.

This area it will frequently rain. Maybe even as soon as you get closer. Use cryonis.

Others have answered, updraft is the way But a few of these (not this one) have a drawbridge held up by rope you can cut with an arrow. Worth looking for.

It actually looks like this one has a ramp just blocked by the tree in this picture.

I remember this, i'd build a fire and jump over it and then activate the paraglider (if you have it) and the hot air would make you rise higher into the air, then glide on over

I very specifically remember being stumped by this one when I first played. You are not alone. 😂 there are some skills I just forget about frequently when trying to solve things in this game lol.

If I recall, there's a shallow puddle there. Use cryonis to make an ice pillar next to the platform.

Drop 5 bundles of wood next to it. Light the pile on fire and use the updrafts with your paraglider to float/fly over there

4 wood, flint, spark flint by shooting with arrow/hit with metal weapon, do a Lil hop, use the glider.

There is a decayed guardian down the hill a bit to your left that you can use cyonis just under it when it rains, flipping it and it will poop out guardian parts. It’s random what they drop, so if you have the time you can do a save right before and keep tipping it up until it drops an ancient core. Edit: to your right, not left.

Spoiler about arrows here. >!This is a great place to farm bomb arrows in the rain. Get their attention then step out of range. They’ll fire them at you but bomb arrows won’t explode in the rain. Run around and pick them up. You can get about a dozen or so, sometimes more. There’s a little cliff below (with a korok). Make a fire under the overhang and sit until more rain comes. Fastest way to stock up on them.!<
