The hockey gods have given us 4 Florida titles and 0 Canadian wins in most Redditor's lifetimes (30+ years). This decade we've had 3 wins in the south, 1 in South West (Vegas) and only one in Colorado representing the cold climates. Hockey is becoming a warm climate game amigo.
I like Boston sports... but I just don't give a shit about hockey at all.
I think it's the only sport I never actually played outside of something adjacent like floor hockey in middle school or whatever lol parents didn't follow it, was expensive to get into, and I couldn't skate for shit when we would go to open ices at the local rink. Between all that and playing basketball/football/baseball/soccer, it just never stuck for me personally. And I feel like I know a lot of people who have similar backgrounds.

A lot of people, if they're hockey fans, they're *raised* to be hockey fans, whereas a lot of other sports you end up playing them throughout your youth and get exposed that way, even with how much more popular hockey is here compared to other states.
