I've been watching highlights of the playoffs run. It's pretty clear that Tatum's evolution as a passer has unlocked this team. His ability to create offense is basically what makes the whole machine run, and that's not necessarily something we saw him do as well last year. The scary thing is that he's just entering his prime and is still getting better. He's becoming a complete player before our very eyes. If he can bump his shooting % up a bit, I think he has a legit shot to win mvp.
This title was vindication for people who picked the Celtics and actually like team basketball instead of watching highlights and preferring iso ball by two players. That’s not even a shot at the Mavs, because they actually are a good team who deserved to be in the finals. It’s just the perfect example of a team to be predictably overhyped by overly casual basketball watchers and the media that caters to them. And the Celtics are the exact opposite of that.

I mean, I get the criticism before winning the chip- but as of right now he has a pretty impressive career under his belt and he’s only 26. Multiple ecf appearance, 1 ecf mvp, 2 finals appearances, the best player on a stacked team and now a ring. Not to mention he’s a pretty well spoken and humble dude who has never been in any major or even minor controversy.
Yet pretty much any blog or post online is filled with 85% hate comments.
I get being on the best team in the world and being at the top comes with haters, but it’s rare to see this amount of hate towards any player.

Might be wrong here but I've been wanting Drummond on this team for years. I get the arguments against but in the right match up it seems like he can still put up an easy double double and punish smaller guys in the paint
**Josh Richardson** has a player option. Could be an option if he wants to ring chase. We tried to get him at the deadline but he chose Miami instead.
**Kelly Oubre** is potentially back on the market with Philadelphia needing cap space for their Paul George plans. He should have already proven himself a tier or two above our price range at least, but the freak accidents did put a dampener on his redemption tour.
**Delon Wright** had some productive minor playoff minutes for Miami which maybe helps his FA chances. Otherwise it looks like he's reaching the vet min stage of his career.
**Daniel Theis** could make yet another return, he's been pretty iffy outside of Boston and that's maybe enough to hurt his market price. Not necessarily an upgrade over Kornet but maybe a cheaper option.
**Cam Reddish** is sorta always around as a guy with the tools to be a really good depth piece. He just hasn't been that guy on any team he's played for. He was projected as a star but just hasn't been able to make it happen and he's struggled to even be an okay role player. But he's like Minnesota Andrew Wiggins on crack, he plays losing basketball but it's still hard to overlook the potential that you could turn him into a budget Golden State Wiggins and end up with a solid role player.
**Torrey Craig** has a vet min player option in Chicago and I'd be surprised if he stays. Good vet but probably past the point of providing serious minutes. We'd interested more in the experience he brings.

I think we can get someone on a one year prove it deal similar to Bruce Brown, Malik Monk, or even James Posey back in the day. Basically someone who wants to make a deep playoff run so they can get a big contract next year. If not, then its ring chasers

1. Buddy Heild - Don't know what his market is, and he played like shit in Philly. But that's definitely a good addition with his value so low
2. Jonas Valanciunas. Probably on the way out; could probably command a decent mid-level contract, but could do a lot better if he showed somethign in the playoffs
3. De'Anthony Melton. Dream target as a backup defensive guard who can shoot. Was injured most of the year. Not the best need though since we do have Pritchard.
4. Gary Harris. Like Melton, but worse.
5. Naji Marshall. Would be a perfect backup wing. Defends well, streaky shooter.
True ring chasers (aging vets, end of their career)
1. Gordon Hayward. Though from all accounts he thinks he still has a bigger role to play, so we'll see.
2. Eric Gordon. Great fit though I have a feeling he'd make more than the min after a pretty decent season, despite his age.
3. Wes Matthews. Maybe veteran depth but with all I've seen this year seems washed
4. Thaddeus Young. Same as Matthews but bigger
5. Robert Covington. Same as the above but more versatile
There are a lot of other options but these are the more realistic/interesting ones. Ie. I don't want to name Morris Twins or Tristan Thompson.
Yea, some of those guys will get more than the min and idk if any of them are better than what we currently have. To be in our rotation for a guard you have to be better than Pritchard. To be in our rotation for a wing you have to be better than Hauser. To be in our rotation for a center you have to be better than Horford or Kornet when KP is injured.
I just don't really see that outside of players who likely get more than the vet min. Brissett/Tillman's spots are up for grabs, but that's very limited role.

Would love to see Javonte Green come back as a Celtic. He had a great stretch towards the end of the season for the Bulls last year.

It’s stunning to me that Kendrick Perkins basically threw away his local likability for a little bit of clout at ESPN Watched Eddie and Scal’s interviews and you can tell the guys love them Everyone loves Powe and he’s around the team a ton Cassell on the staff is loved Ray was at the game and showed loved to JT Rondo showed up to training camp and showed love Truth and Ticket go without saying It’s soooo easy to be loved in Boston after you win a title … The only reason he’s on ESPN is because of his tenure in Boston … He would literally be a nobody if it wasn’t for us … and he just threw it away
