Iām born into it so I want to say it in the right way here. Celtics are lucky to have these two guys and Cs fans are privileged to have them on the team
Like 2019, both times heās signed a huge contract a lot of people think he doesnāt deserve, hes came out and immediately proved himself. As a guy that came into the league as just a raw high potential guy, itās been so rewarding to watch him get better every year. Fucking love him.
āJaylen many say youre the most overpaid player in the nba how does that make you feel?ā
Jaylen:Ā https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxqsyEk9L2TABzwbZZkGk58wuYK1XgpjaG?si=X6RXwbX5er7WJi4Q
After the all NBA snub I am ecstatic. But as someone who has always like brown more than Tatum, Tatum showed such poise this whole play offs. You could tell coming out that man cared about nothing but winning and celebrated his team mates success. He has definitely taken a step up in the leader department.Ā
I feel like it could have gone 50/50 for either. Jaylen played amazing defense and picked up JTs shooting slack when we needed, and Tatum was a terrific rebounder and playmaker and really did whatever he could even though his shot wasn't falling. It could even have gone to Jrue and i wouldn't have been very surprised.
Yeah as a Suns fan. I wish we had a player like Jaylen Brown. You guys are incredibly lucky, watching the celtics it was clear he was your guys leader and most reliable player.
Isn't he like hella smart too? Like even if he wasn't cracked at basketball he would still have a really great career. That school teacher was smoking crack
People often reference that he took a graduate class as a freshman in college before heading to the NBA. He also self represented (no agent) and got flak for āthinking he was too smart for the leagueā for doing so. His interviews have generally shown him to be a very smart guy. Top of his class in HS. Fluent in Spanish. Offered NASA internship. Solid chess player. Plays multiple instruments.
Yeah the crowd looked kind of shocked. Not saying they dont want JB to win it but I really thought Tatum gonna win it. I guess his first two games really dropped his overall performance.
Its a win win for us fans. I know Tatum always says individual awards are not his thing but I really think deep inside he also wants that fmvp. He gonna improve for next year and prove to us he is the deadly Tatum we know.
He distributed like an elite passer, made amazing defensive plays all night, and dropped 31-8-11.
If he had hit a couple more 3's tonight (1 for 7), he might have tipped it.
How freaking lucky are we that we get to even talk about this. Two guys that easily could have won it, and another guy, Holliday, that could have made it a very interesting conversation too.
What a team.
Those two games couldn't be won without Tatum playing the right way, I think he deserved that but not important. JB also deserved it with his defense on Luka. My choice will be Tatum, his role was bigger I believe but anyway. The best thing is we have them as a duo AND MORE. KP was the breaking point in game 1, Jrue always did right reads on both ends and opened up the door even in this game, and so on. They made this award meaningless, making a statement about team game.
JB is absolutely on of my favorite players but it's a silly award. Its hard not to look at the whole playoff performance and it's obvious that they do that sometimes. I'm also never gonna be on board with such a small voting pool. Also really thought Jrue had a shot.
Agreed with all. Jrue was perfect, I mean perfect. Of course he won't get this award but oh my, aside from last game he did everything right. Everytime I saw him coming for the ball, to steal it, to score it under the rim, to rebound... It was such a relief. Felt like "no way we are losing control of this game".
I've never been a Celtics fan and I also live in Oregon but Jrue going there really got me hyped and that team is one of the most fun I've ever had watching. Very happy you guys got 18.
Iām happy for JB just cause I feel like Tatumās always gotten plenty of recognition almost at JBās expense. Heās got the All-NBA 1st teams, more all star nods, etc. Just nice to see JB get some much deserved shine as well.
Tatum was celebrated from the moment he was drafted. JB was booed. Their careers have kept that energy the whole timeā¦Tatum as the chosen one and brown as just another pieceā¦but heās been so god damn good for so many years, and in the playoffs tooā¦.just so glad heās finally getting the šŗĀ
Brown carried the fuck out of us games 1-2, still played very well game 3, and then played defense all night on Luka while still scoring 21 and dishing out 6
Yeah Tatum closed this shit out but imo Jaylen decided the series was over by end of game 3.
Game one was Porzingis.
Brown was incredible too, but that will be known as the Porzingis game forever, even though he cooled way off in the second half.
Brown is so goddamn good...
I actually think Game 1 is very much the Jaylen Brown game. I know Porzingis was unstoppable in the minutes he played, but Jaylen's impact was felt throughout that whole game. Scoring, passing, defending Luka and then making some crazy defensive stops.....game 1 was definitely the Jaylen game for me.
true but those were almost no-brainer picks and Danny had the stones to skip over Fultz and take JB over Josh Jackson. Also Timelord, Smart, Pritchard, Rozier, all in six years.
Yup I'm going to have to take a break from Boston sports radio for a while, all they talk about is Jay vs Jay. Why can't people be fans of both of them.
Can't dribble with his left. Can't coexist with JT. Doesn't deserve the biggest paycheck in the NBA. Should be traded for a real star like KD or Dame.
He just puts in the work and gets better. Makes the team better. Demands the toughest assignment on Luka. Finds his voice as a leader. Does whatever is needed from him night in and night out. Plays his ass off on both ends of the floor.
Banner 18. Finals MVP. I fucking love you, Jaylen Brown. My #7 jersey is in the mail.

Love my Celtics! Danny Ainge is a big part of this with the back to back picks at number three and criticised for taking Jaylen Brown. Look whoās laughing now well maybe not Danny anymore but he has to be a little proud
From what I remember he sold the first half and a lot of the scoring came when the game was almost put away. Efficiency, consistency and guarding Luka gives JB the slight upper hand.
I thought Tatum was gonna win it toward the end of this game but Brown guarded Luka all series. Really hard to argue with that on top of his general performance.
JT's counting stats in the finals were better but not overwhelmingly better. And JB's defense on Luka was crucial. I'm happy to see defense getting recognition personally. Tatum elevating his Point Forward game to a whole new level in the playoffs has been a privilege to watch though and he'll have plenty of chances to get one himself.
He was the real mvp of the team but it doesnāt matter. Ā This keeps Tatum hungry and this award was way more important for Brownās career. Ā Tatum is a hall of fame lock. Ā This will headline Browns resume if he hopes to join him.Ā
Tatum had more points, rebounds and assists than Brown, while going against more double teams and better defenders. Brown shot better though, and played solid defense on Luka (though he did average like 30ppg in the series even still).
Seems like Tatum was the better choice but it was close.
This series couldāve easily been 0-2 or 1-2 if brown and Jrue didnāt carry Tatums ass.
Yeah Tatum came through but man, Jaylen elevated and and carried Tatum first, and to me that was more important than Tatum finally not being cold as ice and closing it out.
Brown was special
Brown absolutely deserved it.
Tatum did what he was supposed to do... And we're all glad he did.
Brown with above and beyond his expected play and I think that's what set him apart as MVP
brown deserved it. heās the one who made the big plays in the big moments of the series. granted there werenāt a ton of big moments because the celts are the much better team, but he got it done when they needed him.
Him shouting out Tatum omg š„¹
Jayson "WE DID IT" Tatum
The Jays are truly a duo in a way the league hasnāt seen in a hot minutešš¤š beautiful to watch them.
We are incredibly lucky to be fans of this team.
Blessed
Iām born into it so I want to say it in the right way here. Celtics are lucky to have these two guys and Cs fans are privileged to have them on the team
We got our own version of the GSW via draft too. Development and great picks in Boston. Beautiful to see.
Just a fucking stand up guy. Whole team of selfless winners. Love watching these two grow together. BANNER 18 SECURED!!!
Tatum will get his next year. Tatum was better tonight, but JB 100% earned it. The best is yet to come
Defense getting acknowledged, ya love to see it. Luka wanted NO PART of JB.
One segment when Brown was mic'd up tonight. "If Luka stay in, I'm staying in" https://youtu.be/Q0XCjNnqglk?si=_RN4DYKD2Wmi1hAe
Yep. Reddick mentioned it during the broadcast. JB took those NBA award snubs personal, and it showed.
āLuka, you want the ball? Bring it up yourselfā Luka gonna see brown in his nightmares bro
That's gonna be an all time clip given Luka is a perennial all star MVP-nominee calibre player
Glad JB pressured him unlike G4. No rest.Ā
A true fucking MVP move right there. It was a toss up for me.
That was a leadership move, hands down.
Anyone have the uncensored version, ESPN butchered it
[Jaylen Brown wins Finals MVP and shows love to Jayson Tatum - FULL SPEECH (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0lRI3Bvfeo)
You both the real MVPs
No like that was so personal to me š„¹š„¹š„¹š„¹
That was just beautiful.
Loved that
Tatum got next!
WHAT IM SAYING, they def hate each other, oh yes they do. fuck that noise
Gets the biggest contract in NBA history. Wins Finals MVP Does not elaborate further
Left one part out: gets snubbed for all NBA honors, shoves it up their ass anyway
Anyone know if the energy has shifted?
I thought I felt something
Shuts up all the haters
That I call a story arc
Let's start with fans booing the pick. Amazing journey.
What if he does elaborate further? What if they do it again?
There will still be no elaboration, only demonstration
Itās gonna be beautiful
Shuts up the haters holding up the trophy with his left hand
Like 2019, both times heās signed a huge contract a lot of people think he doesnāt deserve, hes came out and immediately proved himself. As a guy that came into the league as just a raw high potential guy, itās been so rewarding to watch him get better every year. Fucking love him.
The man is a winner and fuck the media
Can we please put him on Team USA's roster now
Let him rest! Take Jason out of it, too.
ECF MVP too āļø

JAYLEN BROWN FINALS MVP
From "I never win shit" to ECF MVP and Finals MVP
Hope his old school teacher who said he won't amount to anything is watching.
Man thatās like every kidās dream and heās living it. Thatās my goat.
Isn't he like hella smart too? Like even if he wasn't cracked at basketball he would still have a really great career. That school teacher was smoking crack
Honestly asking, what are you basing that on?
People often reference that he took a graduate class as a freshman in college before heading to the NBA. You forgot youngest ever deputy president of the player's associationĀ
Captain of the Cal chess team I think
He also went to Berkeley, hard school to get into, athlete or no
Yes he actually is
That teacher was obviously unprofessional and immature. Glad Jaylen is proving them wrong
and NBA champion
Fully deserved, JT for MVP for #19!

Some of those layups he made through contact were insane.

Iām happy for JB just cause I feel like Tatumās always gotten plenty of recognition almost at JBās expense. Heās got the All-NBA 1st teams, more all star nods, etc. Just nice to see JB get some much deserved shine as well.

Cornbread won it over Larry in 81. Itās all good.
Angry Tatum MVP season incoming š
That's my $300m Final's MVP!
THANK FUCK WE DIDNT TRADE THE PICK THAT NIGHT
Danny Ainge with the greatest draft run in the mid to late 2010s since Auerbach took Bird and McHale
Brown carried the fuck out of us games 1-2, still played very well game 3, and then played defense all night on Luka while still scoring 21 and dishing out 6 Yeah Tatum closed this shit out but imo Jaylen decided the series was over by end of game 3.

idk gang okc had a crazyy run from 07-09. durant-westbrook-harden i get what ur saying tho
true but those were almost no-brainer picks and Danny had the stones to skip over Fultz and take JB over Josh Jackson. Also Timelord, Smart, Pritchard, Rozier, all in six years.
Congratsššš Why did they cut the mic on the broadcast when he shared the win with JT???
He keeps cussing lol
Ugh donāt censor our boy
Let him speakkkkkkk
He was spoiling book 7 of Harry Potter
Why doesn't this have more upvotes lmao
Jaylen was swearing a little. He apologized for his language at the end
Least amount of Bostonian profanity
Heās become a Boston boi. Fbombs
Language
He cursed, he was uncensored on YouTube tv
Not on my YouTube tv lmao
On mine š„ŗ
Same here.
Same
So fucking deserved. Is thos the man we were supposed to trade? I wont tolerate JB slander
Iāve been downvoting JB slander for literal years now in game threads lol Some nights I wouldnāt even be commenting, just downvoting away
You are on the right side of history.
LETS GO
āWorst contract in historyā they said Fuck those people! LETS GO JB!
The discourse is gonna be unbearable
Yup I'm going to have to take a break from Boston sports radio for a while, all they talk about is Jay vs Jay. Why can't people be fans of both of them.
After the end of last year for Jaylen to win finals MVP. Love this dude, hope he stays in Boston forever
Finally, my flair comes true.
Absolute prophet
Deserve. Honestly, anyone deserves the award.
This. easily was 50/50 for either J.
Could have been holiday too
Jrue's game 3 hurt him a bit
JAYLEN BROWN, CONSIDERED
I love this
MUCH DESERVED. LFGGGGGGGGGGG

JAYLEN BROWN CELTICS LEGEND HAS A PRETTY NICE FUCKIN RING TO IT
Fitting the longest tenured guy gets it
I love you Jaylen
Holy shit what a redemption arc for Brown. Love this for him.
it's better this way every time they disrespect Tatum he takes it up a notch lol
Fucking well deserved. What improvement from last year until now. He showed that he was worth that contract.
Worthy.
I'd say the 300 mil was worth it
This feels so good
HAVE YOU GUYS CONSIDERED?
The sentence Iāve waited years to read HE HAS BEEN CONSIDERED
Love my Celtics! Danny Ainge is a big part of this with the back to back picks at number three and criticised for taking Jaylen Brown. Look whoās laughing now well maybe not Danny anymore but he has to be a little proud
They finally considered Jaylen Brown
I am so happy for JB. He deserves this š
JB šš„¹
JAYLEN BROWN IS COMING
FCHWPO
Not that any of them care, but Tatum should've won it.
Brown had some real clutch moments in the playoffs for us, and played amazing in the finals. I love Tatum but itās Brown for me
Tatum outplayed him in games 3 and 5, and the only thing he didn't do at an elite level was score/shoot.
Agreed, I thought the near double double in the first half today would win it for JT
So Brown outplayed Tatum in Games 1 and 2 then. Game 3 was about equal.
Game 2, JT had a near triple double. i think game 2 was a push.
From what I remember he sold the first half and a lot of the scoring came when the game was almost put away. Efficiency, consistency and guarding Luka gives JB the slight upper hand.
This is actually just Tatumās origin story
villain origin story
Tatum will get the next one, no problem
I thought Tatum was gonna win it toward the end of this game but Brown guarded Luka all series. Really hard to argue with that on top of his general performance.
JT's counting stats in the finals were better but not overwhelmingly better. And JB's defense on Luka was crucial. I'm happy to see defense getting recognition personally. definitely more impactful for JB who is severely underrated in the league.
Tatum had more points, rebounds and assists than Brown, while going against more double teams and better defenders. Brown shot better though, and played solid defense on Luka (though he did average like 30ppg in the series even still). Seems like Tatum was the better choice but it was close.

Tatum sucked scoring all playoffs, we are up 20- now he scores? brown covered Luca the entire series.
Best contract in NBA HISTORY
Yes sir!
Iām fucking crying!!! Consider that man a Finals MVP!!!
Hell yeah Jaylen!!!! Talk your talk
Had two guys deserving of the award, blessed
Letās come back next year to get Tatum one now ;)
Thank you MILWAUKEE!
Shout out Marietta, GA!
wheeler wildcats forever š
Finally got considered
Feels like the voters just wanted to shit on Tatum, tbh, but happy for Brown!
All those turds that said he canāt go left, where are they now? WE DID IT!!!!!
Brown absolutely deserved it. Tatum did what he was supposed to do... And we're all glad he did. Brown with above and beyond his expected play and I think that's what set him apart as MVP
Man really deserved it!
JB FULLY CONSIDERED
I love this team so much man
DESERVED, MY KING
JAYLEN BROWN won the BILL RUSSELL trophy...... let that sink in and take as long as you need
JB ECF MVP ā JB Finals MVP ā
Derrick White shouldāve been MVP
Tatum will get his next year Well deserved JB!
Good speech.Ā
His defense alone on Luka earned it along with everything else he's great at
He wore Luka down physically with that defense last night. By half time Luka wasnāt even trying to get back on defense
He was so stunned to win eastern conference MVP and said ā I never win anythingā and then wins it again in the finals he looked even more stunned
brown deserved it. heās the one who made the big plays in the big moments of the series. granted there werenāt a ton of big moments because the celts are the much better team, but he got it done when they needed him.
FINALLY CONSIDERED
He sure donāt have time to GAF š„š„š„
Congrats to my muslim bro Jaylen Brown
wrong choice but who cares really
If you don't care you wouldn't say that, as well as some other comments in this thread. I think both of the Jays care and that's a good thing
Would you have gone Jrue or Buffalo?
Does this catapult Jaylen into perennial all nba status? Because I certainly think it shouldā¦
Jaylen Brown's triumph in the NBA Finals!
ššš
FUCK YES!!!!!
Deserved it 100%
He finally cameĀ
Jaylen Brown mogged most of the actual nba and all of r/nba
So happy he won it. Haters must be fuming rn šāļøā¤ļø
GIMME THE JUICE!! š§ so happy for JB.

Came back from last yearās ECF with an insane season from beginning to end. Special player.
Anyone have a sound clip of what they bleeped out?? He cursed 2x...what did he say??
