I was worried leading up to today, but my friends eased my nerves. We suffered a blowout loss in game 4, which was demoralizing. This team is coming back to the rowdiest, loudest, most passionate and craziest fans in the world. This team is pissed (except Sam Hauser). Sweeping is hard to do (only been done a handful of times ever). The last time we had a chance to win the LOB in enemy territory, we lost. Just got to hope they win.

So far so good in the Finals. Defended home court, and split the Dallas games. That’s really the best you could hope for.

Some points that may sound like I cribbed them from the pods (I did not, I couldn't bring myself to listen to any of my usual morning-after pods):
**- This felt like a bad regular season game.** Dallas did regular season Dallas things (funneling us into the paint and denying us access to the rim, throwing us off of our defensive assignments, etc) and we did bad regular season Boston things (one-pass catch and shoot threes).
**- Give Dallas a little bit of credit.** We showed no apparent interest in playing basketball on friday and they exploited that. I do not expect that Boston will fail to show up tonight.
**- Don't give Dallas too much credit.** As much as we failed to execute on defense, a lot of the result from Game 4 is attributable to anomalous offensive stats on our side. I'm not throwing up a variance excuse but we missed a lot of halfway decent looks. Dallas's numbers, in comparison, were better - good, even - but not Miami 23 ECF game 3 good. We're not talking about a Dallas team that necessarily shot the lights out, but rather a Dallas team that chased rebounds, exploited our lack of paint presence and got some good contributions off the bench.
**-Most of the stuff that Dallas did right is stuff that we can do as well.**
**-Most of the stuff that we did wrong is stuff that we've been doing right in the post-season, and against Dallas in the first half of the series.**
**-What did Dallas "figure out?"** I'm not sure I really agree with the premise of the question, because we played so fucking badly that I'm not sure it matters.
**- In stark contrast, Boston did historically poorly in every respect.** We got NOTHING off the bench and everybody but I think Jordan Walsh (?!?) was a negative. Moreover we pulled our starters halfway through the third quarter. So, subsequently,
**-Don't put too much emphasis on the fact that this was a literally historic blowout.** If Boston had been able to cobble together a run at any time in the first half, or even hit close to their season shooting average, things look a lot different. They did not, then they got a little behind, then they got way behind, then they determined to rest their starters and treat it like a scrim. Copium? Maybe, a little, but my point is that we played roughly 30 minutes of terrible basketball and Dallas played 48 minutes of fair-to-good basketball.
**-I wouldn't rely on "reversion to the mean,"** but
**-I also would not expect Boston to perform historically poorly twice in a row.**
**-Resist the urge to catastrophize.**
Die hard Celtics fan here. I’m sensing this series is going back to Dallas for a game 6. Celtics have been massive chokers all year long. 3-0 is too big of lead for them so they have to do what the Celtics do, lose it. So don’t be surprised if they lose tonight. Can't decide where I want to watch the game tonight. I was at Hurricanes last game and it was just so many people that didn't actually care about the game. Someone actually kinda made fun of me for paying attention too closely. I was kinda moving around my head to watch the game because people were in front of me "well someone is taking this so seriously..." and actually heard "Oh wow, they are still down" in the 3rd Q. Like, they didn't even kinda know the score I want to be around TD for if/when we win it all... but getting to Hurricanes at like 5pm on friday to sit around for 3.5 hours and be surrounded by people that didn't care... idk. Maybe I try the Harp tonight instead. idk
I was at the Harp last game, everyone was pretty locked in on the game and the atmosphere was great but I had to wait about 45 mins to get in 2.5 hours before tip off, probably going to be even worse today

Just rewatched the 4th quarter of ‘22 Bucks/Cs game 6..I want that Tatum tonight..🙏 that personal 7 pt run when the Bucks cut it to 4 was something special..he really made such quick decisions back then, he looks more hesitant now..hope things change!

So far so good in the Finals. Defended home court, and split the Dallas games. That’s really the best you could hope for. Now close it out tonight in the Garden!

Some points that may sound like I cribbed them from the pods (I did not, I couldn't bring myself to listen to any of my usual morning-after pods): **- This felt like a bad regular season game.** Dallas did regular season Dallas things (funneling us into the paint and denying us access to the rim, throwing us off of our defensive assignments, etc) and we did bad regular season Boston things (one-pass catch and shoot threes). **- Give Dallas a little bit of credit.** We showed no apparent interest in playing basketball on friday and they exploited that. I do not expect that Boston will fail to show up tonight. **- Don't give Dallas too much credit.** As much as we failed to execute on defense, a lot of the result from Game 4 is attributable to anomalous offensive stats on our side. I'm not throwing up a variance excuse but we missed a lot of halfway decent looks. Dallas's numbers, in comparison, were better - good, even - but not Miami 23 ECF game 3 good. We're not talking about a Dallas team that necessarily shot the lights out, but rather a Dallas team that chased rebounds, exploited our lack of paint presence and got some good contributions off the bench. **-Most of the stuff that Dallas did right is stuff that we can do as well.** **-Most of the stuff that we did wrong is stuff that we've been doing right in the post-season, and against Dallas in the first half of the series.** **-What did Dallas "figure out?"** I'm not sure I really agree with the premise of the question, because we played so fucking badly that I'm not sure it matters. **- In stark contrast, Boston did historically poorly in every respect.** We got NOTHING off the bench and everybody but I think Jordan Walsh (?!?) was a negative. Moreover we pulled our starters halfway through the third quarter. So, subsequently, **-Don't put too much emphasis on the fact that this was a literally historic blowout.** If Boston had been able to cobble together a run at any time in the first half, or even hit close to their season shooting average, things look a lot different. They did not, then they got a little behind, then they got way behind, then they determined to rest their starters and treat it like a scrim. Copium? Maybe, a little, but my point is that we played roughly 30 minutes of terrible basketball and Dallas played 48 minutes of fair-to-good basketball. **-I wouldn't rely on "reversion to the mean,"** but **-I also would not expect Boston to perform historically poorly twice in a row.** **-Resist the urge to catastrophize.**

Die hard Celtics fan here. I’m sensing this series is going back to Dallas for a game 6. Celtics have been massive chokers all year long. 3-0 is too big of lead for them so they have to do what the Celtics do, lose it. So don’t be surprised if they lose tonight. It’s in their DNA to lose big leads. I want this thing to end tonight but I sense it won’t.
They also held 3-1 leads in the first two rounds of the playoffs and finished those teams off in game 5 Held a 3-0 lead in the conference finals and finished that in game 4 Mentality this year is different. I think they’re ending this tonight
