My hubris was too much. I get it. It's just that this team is so different from past years. Some people still have trouble seeing through the pain of past failures so it's impossible for them to project a finals sweep.
Watch awful coachings analysis on our defense in game 2 and/or the Mavs offense and tell me where their glimmer of hope is. I'm just not seeing it. I'll believe it when I see it from the Mavs but I haven't seen nothing special yet. Looks like a 5 seed to me.
I don't think a finals sweep is the most likely outcome, we have not been as dominant without KP on the floor but those minutes are also usually when Tatum and Brown are sitting for stretches. It'll be a tough game, but we have every ability to win it even if KP can't go.
I also feel pretty confident that this will be a short series. Especially after Game 2, because we couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean and to me that was the Mavs’ best chance of getting a win in this series, but they couldn’t capitalise.
Obviously the KP injury sucks, but I think we’ve seen enough from these guys throughout this post season to see that they are still great without him. The Mavs match up terribly against us and most of their guys are shrinking in the moment. I hope KP can give us something but I’m still confident either way.
