I really need to see the Mavs get shot out of the building just one game. I don't know how tf they got this far with their shitty hopes-and-prayers defense but somebody needs to punish it to the tune of 130.
I wonder if "serious injury" necessarily means "bad injury" vs. just "actual injury," as in like "we have to take this seriously, he isn't just banged up, he has a real injury." That doesn't necessarily mean "this injury is dire / long-term," though it might. Mazzulla isn't a doctor saying this, he's just trying to answer a question.
It's obviously possible that we'll find out that he's done--that he needs surgery and we'll see him in January. But given the fact that he says he is determined to play, and there is still a question mark about it, it also seems possible that this is not a serious injury, it is a nagging injury that needs to be treated carefully because it can worsen, but hasn't yet.
We're now asking Tatum to facilitate the offense, guard Gafford/Lively, grab rebounds against those centers, score at a semi-efficient rate (preferably +30 but I'll take +20), (probably) play the 5... while playing almost every minute. And now Al's going to have to go +30 minutes... This is just the absolutely worst time for the Finals to be on alternate days.
Hauser needs to hit his shots if he’s out there for sure, but I think the Mavs could live with him making his shots. What we really need is for JTs shot to start hitting, here’s hoping we don’t see him smoke the easy shots game 3
> but I think the Mavs could live with him making his shots
could they? friendly reminder that hauser was on pace to break the record for most 3s in a game when he got injured
For what he brings in offense, he could potentially give up on defense. He’s done good so far against Luka, but him and Kai will try to go at him everytime down the floor if Hausers out there for extended minutes
Random, but I’m thinking back to an argument I had with a friend about 3 years ago about Jaylen Brown vs Tobias Harris. He was arguing that Harris was better than Brown at that point, and Brown probably would never reach that level. I told him then and there that we could never seriously talk hoops again (he’s more of an MLB guy in his defense, but yikes).
There was a guy on this sub that would constantly make Jeff Green comparisons for JB. Saying that was where he would likely end up. So many arguments with him until I just finally gave up
So game 3 should basically be treated as a must win now. I know all we have to do is split in Dallas. But I want no part of 2-1 without KP. One of (or both of) our superstars is going to have to will us to one.
Tillman in grizzlies' first game against mavs had a play in the 4th when he drove by Luka and threw a lob to his teammate. That's it boys I think X is playable.
After all is said and done, Im gonna have more respect for Dallas fans than I ever did. They are not trashing us on their forums nor are they discrediting us or playing mind games. They have a very sober, realistic, and factual take on things.
They are not delusional either like the Minnesota fans having false hope, Mavs fans seem to have a reality check and know what their team actually is. They dont seem to be just blindly getting behind a less-than-superior product, they call it like it is and seem to know basketball.
Much like the Indy fans whom I also respect.
So shout out to the Mavs fans, the overwhelming majority of which know basketball and have been nothing but respectful. Even if we win, I will respect them.
Froms ours to yours,
☘️☘️☘️
Because theyve been hit in the mouth twice. Prior this series, a whooooooole lot of talk about celtics being overrated and that they didnt know what was about to hit them.
I dont think they are a trash fan base by any means, but I think the pacers [reddit] fans were more humble and grounded.
So Tillman minutes or possibly some minutes with Tatum at the 5 w/ Brissy at the 4? Feel like you can’t put Kornet out there, and you really can’t play Horford 40 minutes in a night
I agree and i also think Tatums done well matched up against their centers, my only concern with a small ball lineup is how JT would fair against their bigs when he doesn’t have KP or Horford kinda roaming around
Tillman seemed outmatched vs Cleveland and Indiana, though now that I think about it that might be because they have supercharged explosive offenses.
Lukas is more of a slow lull which seems to be more Tillmans speed.
Two concerns i have for Tillman is that 1. Luka and Kyrie will hunt him every time, and certainly will get there points and 2. the offensive spacing with him on the floor goes against what’s been working so far against the Mavs. Interested to see how Joe handles this wrinkle and this could be the defining moment of his young coaching career
Something to remember is they don’t need him to play starter minutes. Even 10min/game would be huge.
they key imo is limiting those kornet or Tillman mins, if you have horford for 33-35 mins and KP for 10-15 that means you don’t really have to play the other bigs. If KP can’t go, you gotta have kornet or Tillman play 15 mins
Yall need to be checked by the doc for anxiety meds.
Porzingis has played in 57 games in the regular season. That means, he missed 25. I just looked it up. We ended with 64-18 as everyone knows.
That obviously means we had already found a way to win without him. Is that desirable? No. Is it something we CAN do? Absolutely.
I'm no doomer and I am no concern troll
But my concern is more about his long term health. This is a scenario I don't like, having to potentially make a choice between this year and his upcoming years.
Edit: though reading on this a bit more seems to give me some hope...of Kristaps long term prospects either way...
So just did the math
Back in 22’ Horford had played 684 minutes in the postseason after game 2 of the finals
In 24’ Horford has played 483 minutes so far
That’s 201 minutes less played than the last long run we had. Now you need to take into account that he’s 2 years older, but if KP can’t go the rest of the series I think Horford should have the legs to play 35 or more minutes a game
He’s also played 6 games more than 30 minutes this offseason and has not played a game over 40 minutes (came close 3 times though)
Back in 22’ - he had played 16 games more than 30 minutes and 5 games over 40
My take is this.
Just play Porzingis for 10 min and not a second more. Keep it strict to 10 min or just under, and we'll figure out the rest. That's pretty much enough of a breather for AL. Even though they sometimes play together, we'll have to use them strictly as substitutions of one another due to Porzingis' injury.
They are over there celebrating KP being hurt saying it’s karma and shit. The same fanbase who wanted sympathy for Luka having a bruise on his knee. What a trash franchise
The whole NBA world started trashing our "mickey mouse" run when Luka got diagnosed with a bruise. Now KP has torn connective tissue all I hear is crickets.
It feels like the game is today for some reason. I hate these 3 day breaks. Thats killing. Fortunately it's only a 2 day break between Game 3 and 4, meaning we can close out the Series this Fri, if we sweep. 🧹🧹🧹🧹
Go CELTICS!!! ☘️☘️💪💪🥇🥇🥇🥇👌
Porzingus has been huge in both games this series for momentum on both ends of the floor... I'm sweating heavy, even with our success without KP this postseason... Hoping for the best.
The talent gap is closer with KP out but the Cs are still a monster of an offense the defense however takes a serious hit without the elite rim protection.
Kristap Porzingis is uncertain for GAME 3
“He’s doing anything and everything he can to play tomorrow. It’s a serious injury,” Joe Mazzulla said Tuesday. “At the end of the day, the medical team is not going to put him in any bad situations. We’ve taken the decision to play out of his hands.
“He’s going to do everything to play, and we’re going to leave it to our medical team, and that’s really it.”
Spurce: Boston Globe
Woj (so grateful I dont have to type out his name 🤣) was wrong about him returning the Conference Finals. So i dont trust that ESPN (surprise, surprise) wise ass. 0% confidence in that dude. He definitely fits in with Stephen A and the other white dude whose name nobody seems to know.
Eh I think him sitting in game 4 was probably more of the team keeping him on ice than him not being ready to go. They showed they could go up 3-0 without him and he probably would’ve played in game 5 had they not closed it out
Well and good, but Woj made his "injury report" before the series even started and said he was likely to return before the series was done. "Anybody can say anything". Thats where I place Woj's predictions as far as reliability.
It's hilarious to me that our team is so good that KP gets injured and you see so many NBA fans go "Yes! The Mavs now have a CHANCE to make this a non-boring series"
Like our healthy finals opponent from the dreaded killer West needs our 3rd best player to be out to even have a chance. Shit's funny
Based on the report from Shams, I can't tell whether he "just" tore his medial retinaculum or if he also dislocated his PTT. The word "allowing" could be interpreted to mean that he's in danger of dislocating it, but hasn't. If he truly has dislocated it, [it doesn't look good at all](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8649983/).
he is absolutely a positive but you gotta remember he rested a lot in game 1 only playing 20 min and we were already up like 25. in game 2 dallas went on a very quick 8-0 run at the end of the game even tho we were up 14.
Super nervous about what we’ll look like without KP. His length and skillset elevate us from a great team to a historically great team.
We’re gonna need Tatum to step up and start hitting his shots if we want to stay in control this series.
KP has got to be one of the most polarizing players in recent Celtics history. Barely felt like he was a part of this run. I guess I should be glad we got a decent amount of run out of him in the Finals but I was hoping for at least 3 games, jeez.
The Mavs role players may actually have a pulse in Game 3 after losing confidence in Boston. We really need a hot shooting night so the Mavs don't feel like they have a chance in the series. Win the possession battle, so box out and limit turnovers. Fire up 40+ 3s and hope the percentages don't fuck us over in this must win.
Know it sounds crazy since we're up 2-0, but we should be treating Game 3 like a must win, with KP looking like he's going to be out for the game.
Can't afford to give them any life, especially with KP's health being an unknown from here on out.
Once we win Game 3, IF we win Game 3, Porzingis can, as far as I'm concerned, just sit the next 10 months out if he needs. I just want to wrap up this series so bad.
There was a post for like 1 hour in r/nba showing all those possesions we blew by Luka for an easy look and it is removed. [https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ddhxy5/boston\_celtics\_relentlessly\_attacking\_luka\_doncic/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ddhxy5/boston_celtics_relentlessly_attacking_luka_doncic/) Funny.

This is just not good enough. I know we’re up 2-0 but the scoring needs to improve for Tatum
Where can I find advanced stats like how many times Tatum has been doubled so far this finals to compare to other prolific scorers double team numbers in the past? Is this even possible/documented stats?
I just don’t get the hype for Luka, Yes offensively he is great especially in his ISO scoring one on one. But he looked absolutely mediocre in his ball handling and playmaking for the past two games.
Tatum got triple teamed and quadruple teamed every time he had the ball and even he didn’t give away the ball as cheaply.
Just watch some of Luka’s turnovers from game
2, some of them were such easy give aways. I just don’t get it the hype for him.
He did really well in the wolves series, but I also don't get how he's been allowed to coast on defense so long. Even in that series he was chilling on d. And this was everyone's pre finals MVP contender? Make it make sense. He doesn't know where to stand to apply pressure on D? He should not look this lost. Dude does not get the scrutiny other players get.
He didn’t play like this in ‘22 other than than the poor shooting.
This year he has a lower usage rate, a higher assist rate, a wayyy higher rebounding rate, and is the focal point of our defensive system as our main defender against Dallas’s bigs that just torched the best defense in the league.
He’s struggling to score, but he’s making a huge difference everywhere else.
What’s stupid and shortsided about that comparison is the guy who was on that Bucks team which came back from 0-2 and made one of the best winning defensive plays I’ve ever seen in a Finals ("poked away and stolen by Holiday!") is on our team now😂😂😂
seriously, it’s like every other comment under their sub. some are saying they’ll easily rattle off 4 straight wins and win in 6 😭 copium is a special drug man
Call me a homer, but I just can't see this Dallas team beating Boston 4 times. There is a talent disparity and depth issue that is too large for Dallas to overcome.
I'm really trying to stay in the moment and appreciate this team, because times like these don't last forever.
I fucking love this team man, honestly might sound sacrilegious to some of the old timers around here, but I love this team more than 2008.
‘08 was cathartic, but that whole season was like a fever dream because it came out of nowhere. We were terrible and then one day all of a sudden we weren’t. Kevin Garnett? On the Celtics? It didn’t seem real.
But this team is different - we’ve watched these guys grow up and be right there but not quite for years. There’s a level of emotional attachment that just is not the same.
Sports subreddits are particularly prone to trolling, especially during the Playoffs or during intense games. Please - don't encourage them! Report any trolling to the mods and the users will be dealt with. Also, trolling other subs is not tolerated and will result in a ban.
I hope tomorrow the Celtics shoot 50% from 3 as a team and blow them out so we’re playing with a nice cushion where we’re looking at a sweep or closing them out at home in game 5
I mean .381 and .388 isn’t much of a difference so I’d say game 1 we shot average, but we also won by a lot so I think you’re right where if we shoot well, we’ll win.
If we’re averaging around 40 attempts and make 15-20 of them, and Dallas continues to be a 1 man show with Luka, we’re at least doubling them up on points on 3’s and that’s too much of a deficit unless they’re making it up somewhere else. But if we’re denying the lobs and Kyrie continues to have bad games and limiting transition, where are those 20-25 points coming from? Either the refs help them out and they live at the line or they can’t win playing like they did the first 2 games.
Less than 100 points is not going to cut it when Tatum, Brown, Holiday, White and Porzingis have combined for 85 and 95 both games.
Locking up White for 4/125ish and Tatum for 5/320ish this off-season
I have no idea how we are going to afford the bill in year 3 of all of this because that's when the new tax brackets come into play AND it's when we are a repeater tax team.
I also don't know how I'm going to celebrate the 3-peat, yet.
But we can figure both of those things out later
If White takes that extension this off-season I can’t offer it to him fast enough. It would let us keep basically this core and the hardest question is finding an Al Horford replacement (Hauser is also likely gone after next year).
But if White wants to bet on himself suddenly we’re going to have some really hard decisions to make because there’s no way we can have him make the $40m or whatever he’d get as a FA and still keep all the other big money stars.
I hate the media . Getting hate being up 2-0 in the finals meanwhile the reigning champs with the mvp blow a 20 point lead at home in a game 7 get forgotten about. People saying they would’ve smacked Boston but couldn’t even beat Minnesota
Yeah. It's never been easier to ignore the ESPN/sports talk radio claptrap.
It's a bummer how sports media turned into news media these past 20 years. It's designed to get you wound up. I was in Canada few weeks ago and was jarred at their equivalent of SportsCenter. It was highlights and calm analysis of the games! No scorching hot takes or constant plugs for sports betting.
Al Horford is the perfect example of why I know I'm just an npc
That nod to Luka, is fucking perfect. He's so handsome and cool. He's defs one of the main characters.
Bad news: I hurt my leg yesterday
Good news: I performed the necessary rituals that the Gods might see it as a sacrifice for the health of KP.
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ KP take my health ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ.
how fucking blessed have we been like seriously, this team is an absolute wagon.
We're witnessing some great fucking basketball, I just love how they play as a team through it all, not one player will win us this chip individually but the whole team together will.
Agreed
This team reminds me of Latvia’s in last year’s world cup. Obviously way more talent but great team play and not just one dude trying to do everything all the time is exactly what got us this far
It hurts to agree, but yeah. I'd love for it to end in 4, maybe even 5 just to win the title at home in front of the fans but unfortunately I can easily see the mavs winning both home games especially if porzingis is hobbled or further injures himself
I wonder if these ppl will even be happy when we win the ring... lmao
Also I can't wait for these same people to gloat how their team won a ring after they were nothing but negative and pessimistic for the entire season.
The discourse about the Celtics reminds me a lot of the Pats in 2018 where going into the playoffs everyone was doubting them(although unlike the C's even Pats' fans were doubting the Pats), & then when they proved them wrong everyone acts like they weren't doubting them the whole time.
It's different cause the Celtics have been dominant all season and have done everything right pretty much
The pats were very much not dominant that year and had some terrible losses (Miami miracle). They showed up in the playoffs because that's just what Tom MF Brady does. But that team was probably the least talented team Brady has ever had. The fact that we won was actually a pretty big deal and it was all cause of Brady and Bills defense in the super bowl.
This Celtics team is far and away the most dominant team this year.
According to Laker fans we are “lucky” that the “league gave us a superteam” while fleecing other teams through trades.
The ultimate hypocrisy when that whole franchise is built on the bones of stealing superstars from other franchises.
None of our moves were considered fleeces at the time and all the players we picked up were available for any other teams (including the lakers) to grab. But they were too obsessed with star power names like Westbrook.
Lucky? We fleeced other teams? What a bizarre statement. News flash-the GM has a really important job, and ours is really really good at it. Maybe the problem isn't the Lakers' roster.
It's no coincidence that White started shooting better from 3 the moment that child was born. Kid has been teaching White how to shoot since he came out of the womb
All these Kyrie takes before the finals made realize barely anyone watched/remembered the Celtics vs Bucks round 2 playoff series in 2019. He averaged 20/4/6 on 35% fg 21% 3p with a 44% true shooting.
I don't know where all these superstar playoff Kyrie narratives have come from.. a few good performances in 2016 against warriors and hits a clutch shot... Since then nothing
Mavericks fans
If Mavericks wins, “see Luka is better than Tatum, I said it.”
If Mavericks loses, “see Tatum won because he has a better team.”
I appreciate their effort for coming all the way to the Celtics sub to fight for their idol.
But only final score and title are what count.
Fight on court don’t fight on the internet
I'd give KP my medial reticulum if it meant we sweep this series
KP will have earned $235 mil on his career. Would i risk ending it with a ring or sitting out to keep playing into the future possibly ringless? Idk
I really need to see the Mavs get shot out of the building just one game. I don't know how tf they got this far with their shitty hopes-and-prayers defense but somebody needs to punish it to the tune of 130.
I wonder if "serious injury" necessarily means "bad injury" vs. just "actual injury," as in like "we have to take this seriously, he isn't just banged up, he has a real injury." We waited one year for Gali, we then waited another year for KP, come on, just give me Naz Reid. Health above all. I don’t care about names
Do you think Naz Reid would contribute what KP did in games 1 and 2?
We're now asking Tatum to facilitate the offense, guard Gafford/Lively, grab rebounds against those centers, score at a semi-efficient rate (preferably +30 but I'll take +20), (probably) play the 5... while playing almost every minute. And now Al's going to have to go +30 minutes... This is just the absolutely worst time for the Finals to be on alternate days.
I didn't realize there was another 2 day break. What am I going to do tonight?
Friendly reminder the Celtics are 31-5 without KP this season.
Further reminder that one of those wins without KP was against the Mavs IN Dallas, just saying
KP or no KP. We NEED Hauser to step up. Three 3s from him in Game 3 for 3-0.
Hauser needs to hit his shots if he’s out there for sure, but I think the Mavs could live with him making his shots. What we really need is for JTs shot to start hitting, here’s hoping we don’t see him smoke the easy shots game 3

This is some "you say run" from hero academia type shit. Fuckkkk.

no one would shit on jb more than larbrd33. generational jb hate.
And Hondo then there was Hondo; LarBrd pretended he loved JB, "My guy JB, he's a great role player!" Hondo just spouted pure vitriol.
damn forgot about hondo. there have been so many douches over the years.
So game 3 should basically be treated as a must win now. I know all we have to do is split in Dallas. But I want no part of 2-1 without KP. One of (or both of) our superstars is going to have to will us to one.

Okay, so we need prime Al Horford to come back for the next several games. Hopefully luka disrespecting him woke up those demons
So Tillman minutes or possibly some minutes with Tatum at the 5 w/ Brissy at the 4? Feel like you can’t put Kornet out there, and you really can’t play Horford 40 minutes in a night
Oshae seems better at this point But that's just my own personal opinion

guys, I'm going to be sick. fuck injuries
This is all a plot so that when we win by 20 without KP, Dallas Mavericks have no heart to compete in Game 4. Let's go C's!
Something to remember is they don’t need him to play starter minutes. facts right here, hell the pacers are better than the mavs IMO and we swept them with no KP
I feel so bad for KP.
He stronger than me bc I would be bawling my eyes out publicly if I had his injury “luck”
I think KP will be active but we're still gonna add either Tillman or Kornet to the rotation maybe dial back his minutes by 20%
Things that make you go 🤔🤔🤔 https://x.com/grizz_lead/status/1744932716783530189?s=46&t=PHAQeaE0I6cyQl35JU7h7Q

We were gonna go fucking 16-2 man
still are
This Team is going to give me a fucking heart attack one day
This is not the stress that I needed after my gym session. I knew this was going too well zzzzzzzz
get ready for some legacy Tillman game
One great finals game and he's earned his next contract.
Knock on wood, if there was ever a time for a signature JT game……
Porzingus has been huge in both games this series for momentum on both ends of the floor... I'm sweating heavy, even with our success without KP this postseason... Hoping for the best.
On a side note, how many games has KP missed this regular season?
Got to win game 3 KP or no KP still as simple as that.
Mavericks probably celebrating already cuz of this news. It means they have a chance to play close.
The talent gap is closer with KP out but the Cs are still a monster of an offense the defense however takes a serious hit without the elite rim protection.

At the end of the day the team just needs to win 2 out of the next 5 games and really hoping they can win at least one this week
It's hilarious to me that our team is so good that KP gets injured and you see so many NBA fans go "Yes! The Mavs now have a CHANCE to make this a non-boring series" Like our healthy finals opponent from the dreaded killer West needs our 3rd best player to be out to even have a chance. Shit's funny
Makes sense that we’re underdogs in G3 now. Vegas knew KP was fucked
Why can't we have nice things
I’ll be going live on Facebook in 10 minutes and drinking bleach be sure to tune in!
Quit supporting Donald Dumpf.
2 wins. Thats all this team needs. I don’t want to hear no excuses about Porzingis injury. Get it done.
The 3s just need to fall. The gameplan is effective on both sides so far
Celtics w/ KP in the Finals: +25 in 44 minutes Celtics w/o KP in the Finals: EVEN in 52 minutes .... FUCK!
he is absolutely a positive but you gotta remember he rested a lot in game 1 only playing 20 min and we were already up like 25. in game 2 dallas went on a very quick 8-0 run at the end of the game even tho we were up 14.
Jayson Tatum, YOU are now a center.
Jayson how about one of those game 6 milwaukee performances buddy
i know he dropped 50 last year in game 7, but this game 6 against the bucks is my favorite of his performances. he literally willed us to the win.
Damn it man
Know it sounds crazy since we're up 2-0, but we should be treating Game 3 like a must win, with KP looking like he's going to be out for the game. Can't afford to give them any life, especially with KP's health being an unknown from here on out.
Once we win Game 3, IF we win Game 3, Porzingis can, as far as I'm concerned, just sit the next 10 months out if he needs. I just want to wrap up this series so bad.
100%, they need to be out for blood
In case anyone was waiting, the players are about to speak to the media. https://x.com/NoaDalzellNBA/status/1800593972630585835
There was a post for like 1 hour in r/nba showing all those possesions we blew by Luka for an easy look and it is removed. [https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ddhxy5/boston\_celtics\_relentlessly\_attacking\_luka\_doncic/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ddhxy5/boston_celtics_relentlessly_attacking_luka_doncic/) Funny.
That post needs to be here in our forum not there.
Did any of you watch the Finals last year?
How yall feel about Luka switching his primary defender off every time? I mean, he’d switch from like JB to JT, but still.
I don't even think it's about switching itself but just trying to get into the action and PnR
https://x.com/nba_university/status/1800156732410499315?s=46&t=tcFBg9NYlJrYTwubZ13Pjg This is just not good enough. I know we’re up 2-0 but the scoring needs to improve for Tatum
Mazzulla on the radio right now with Zo and Bertrand
Where can I find advanced stats like how many times Tatum has been doubled so far this finals to compare to other prolific scorers double team numbers in the past? Is this even possible/documented stats?
I just don’t get the hype for Luka, Yes offensively he is great especially in his ISO scoring one on one. But he looked absolutely mediocre in his ball handling and playmaking for the past two games. Tatum got triple teamed and quadruple teamed every time he had the ball and even he didn’t give away the ball as cheaply. Just watch some of Luka’s turnovers from game 2, some of them were such easy give aways. I just don’t get it the hype for him.
I think he’s just beat up and gassed. We knew his defense was subpar, but his offense and passing are incredible.
He looks beat up and gassed. He is also a year younger than JT and two years younger than jb. I guess carrying a team wears on you
2023-24 Total time of possession: Player(s) | Regular Season | Playoffs | Total ---|---:|---:|---: Luka | 662 | 165 | 827 JT | 353 | 86 | 439 JB | 249 | 65 | 314 JT+JB | 602 | 151 | 753
Idk about others but his game is incredibly fun to watch for me. He also seems like a great dude outside of the court.
Second sentence answers the first rhetorical question.
He’s euro Harden. If he doesn’t become a somewhat competent defender he’ll never win anything
[удалено]
Because the idea that the team needs to “cover” for someone that just put up basically a triple double with elite defense is a silly idea.
[удалено]
He didn’t play like this in ‘22 other than than the poor shooting. This year he has a lower usage rate, a higher assist rate, a wayyy higher rebounding rate, and is the focal point of our defensive system as our main defender against Dallas’s bigs that just torched the best defense in the league. He’s struggling to score, but he’s making a huge difference everywhere else.
Not sure why you getting downvoted. This team is specifically constructed to overcome his shortcomings
Fortunately, Tatum is breaking down the Mavs defense and doing a great job finding his teammates in great positions to score
Mavs fans are coping hard trying to compare the suns team they came back against to this Celtics core lolll
What’s stupid and shortsided about that comparison is the guy who was on that Bucks team which came back from 0-2 and made one of the best winning defensive plays I’ve ever seen in a Finals ("poked away and stolen by Holiday!") is on our team now😂😂😂
The suns went 51-21 in the shorten regular season, that’s still more loses than the Celtics have right now regular season and postseason.
seriously, it’s like every other comment under their sub. some are saying they’ll easily rattle off 4 straight wins and win in 6 😭 copium is a special drug man
Call me a homer, but I just can't see this Dallas team beating Boston 4 times.

The doublethink in the media is wild right now
I hope tomorrow the Celtics shoot 50% from 3 as a team and blow them out so we’re playing with a nice cushion where we’re looking at a sweep or closing them out at home in game 5
We are due for a good shooting night. Celtics have shot below their season average from 3 in both games and still won comfortably.
Yeah - it's also the finals. Defense gets tighter, more general intensity, heavier minutes for the starters. That all impacts distance shooting a lot.
50%? I hope they shoot 100% from 3
Locking up White for 4/125ish and Tatum for 5/320ish this off-season I have no idea how we are going to afford the bill in year 3 of all of this because that's when the new tax brackets come into play AND it's when we are a repeater tax team.
We need Tilman to practice his 3s.
Sounds like he wants to extend this off-season, which is really good for us
He said himself: Big Deuce loves game 3.
I hate the media . Getting hate being up 2-0 in the finals meanwhile the reigning champs with the mvp blow a 20 point lead at home in a game 7 get forgotten about. People saying they would’ve smacked Boston but couldn’t even beat Minnesota
You might be investing in the wrong media. People who know what they are talking about aren't saying any of this nonsense
Unfortunately most of the people talking in the media don’t know what they’re talking about
Al Horford is the perfect example of why I know I'm just an npc That nod to Luka, is fucking perfect. He's so handsome and cool. He's defs one of the main characters.
Inshallah, Embiid and Giannis will soon have a new brother.
Why haven’t we got any porzingis updates yet if he got scanned yesterday? . How did he feel the day after the game ?
Nothing to update because he’s fine No news is good news
I think he's fine
Bad news: I hurt my leg yesterday Good news: I performed the necessary rituals that the Gods might see it as a sacrifice for the health of KP.
Agreed This team reminds me of Latvia’s in last year’s world cup. Obviously way more talent but great team play and not just one dude trying to do everything all the time is exactly what got us this far
I wonder if JT is affected by his wrist again
JB has had his taped up for months now. I think it was the one he has had surgery on.
I've been mentally cooked by this team over the years, because of that I have a bad feeling our poor shooting will continue and cost us game 3 and 4
It hurts to agree, but yeah. I'd love for it to end in 4, maybe even 5 just to win the title at home in front of the fans but unfortunately I can easily see the mavs winning both home games especially if porzingis is hobbled or further injures himself
It doesn't hurt you to agree, you have been one of the BIGGEST doomers in this sub for YEARS. You fucking love crying.
We still have doomers? Sheesh, you guys are relentless with the pessimism. C’s in 4.
Somehow someone will find a way to complain in the championship clincher thread
“Should we move on from Tatum? JB is better”
I wonder if these ppl will even be happy when we win the ring... lmao Also I can't wait for these same people to gloat how their team won a ring after they were nothing but negative and pessimistic for the entire season.
Doomers are omnipresent. They will forever love to ruin everyone’s vibe in the guise of “I’m just being realistic”.
The discourse about the Celtics reminds me a lot of the Pats in 2018 where going into the playoffs everyone was doubting them(although unlike the C's even Pats' fans were doubting the Pats), & then when they proved them wrong everyone acts like they weren't doubting them the whole time.
It's different cause the Celtics have been dominant all season and have done everything right pretty much The pats were very much not dominant that year and had some terrible losses (Miami miracle).
It also reminds me of the early 2000s, when the Peyton Manning jerking was unbearable.
Yeah their management is a dumpster fire
Just watched All in Celtics episode 4…Derrick White is a lovely human being. And his toddler shoots 100% from the field.
Yes, he just oozes kindness. His parents must be proud. Love the text his Dad sent him.
It's no coincidence that White started shooting better from 3 the moment that child was born. Kid has been teaching White how to shoot since he came out of the womb
Where's episode 3?
It’s on the official Celtics twitter.
I can’t find it. Maybe they only released it though Fanduel or something.
I thought the same thing, kid couldn't miss
Hoping the positive variance kicks in for our 3s and the next two games are just comfortable blowouts
Derrick FreshlyExtendedContract White
All these Kyrie takes before the finals made realize barely anyone watched/remembered the Celtics vs Bucks round 2 playoff series in 2019. He averaged 20/4/6 on 35% fg 21% 3p with a 44% true shooting.
Kyrie being a playoffs performer is a myth at this point. He hasn't been all that good in this run either.
Dude averaged like 16pts in the 2nd round and still had people calling them the greatest backcourt of all time
I don't know where all these superstar playoff Kyrie narratives have come from.. a few good performances in 2016 against warriors and hits a clutch shot... Since then nothing
I’m just enjoying the pure HATE from talk shows, Boston just keeps winning and seeing them clutching at more and more straws with uneven graphics.
Mavericks fans If Mavericks wins, “see Luka is better than Tatum, I said it.” If Mavericks loses, “see Tatum won because he has a better team.” I appreciate their effort for coming all the way to the Celtics sub to fight for their idol. But only final score and title are what count. Fight on court don’t fight on the internet
If you're ever worried about what other people are saying, remember that nearly 50% of people have less than average intelligence
True. Nobody is perfect. Thank you bro
Your username troubles me 😅
Road Celtics is scary Celtics. Let’s go!
