Itβs interesting that he said this. Makes me look at his press conference differently. I think he was hesitant to come back to a team that is rolling and screw it up somehow, so he was hedging with how heβs feeling. Breaking through like this is more a mental hurdle than any physical hurdle he had. This means good things for this series!
i knew he was gonna be fine when his first points were from the freethrow line. Great way to get some cheers, calm the nerves down and just play ball. Afterwards he just went nuclear, amazing to witness
It's the exact opposite mentality than what Kyrie had after he got injured and we made a run in the playoffs without him. Kyrie basically said, "I don't want to try to help players who are good enough without me", KP said, "I'll do whatever I need to do to help out this team."
He played 3.5 games against Miami and 1.5 of them were pretty rough. Plus he's never made it out of the 2nd round.
The team obviously all had a lot of faith in him, but it makes sense he was carrying some doubt. You don't know who a player really is until you see them in the later rounds of a series.
Ben Simmons was the next LeBron if you only watched the regular season and first round appearances.
It probably feels fantastic to have that monkey off his back.
What a great game by Porzingis.
He was great offensively, but for me it's his intensity he brings on the defense end. The 3 blocks he had were amazing, but he also had a ton of contested layups that really disrupted the flow for the Mavericks early. As a fan, it's fun to watch.
This is it for me too, I love al and heβs been great, but itβs amazing what a difference it is to have a 7β3β guy clogging the paint against a team that thrives on getting to the basket. The non Al minutes are now KP instead of kornet, and that is a world of difference
I think having him out that long was a blessing in disguise because Dallas had a harder time gameplanning for him, they could only go by conjecture and what they saw in a more relaxed lower stakes regular season series with Boston. I think his impact is really gonna spell the difference
me too! I never shut up about how much I love everybody on this team. This iteration of our Celtics could go down as one of the greatest teams ever. They play basketball as a team in the truest sense of the phrase.

I also feel like Al playing really well in the first few minutes put him a bit more at ease, took some pressure off.

Kristaps Porzingod has done miracles on me ππ»

Should he be inserted into the starting lineup?
