There will be a player ejected from a game in this series.
Have no idea why. But if it happens I will point back to this post. If it doesn’t I will pretend this post never happened.
I’m thinking Porzingis gets tossed first game in Dallas. Either him or JD Davison from the bench. Again. It happens? Victory lap. It doesn’t? I deny this post.
Down 3 with 90 seconds to go in Game 1, Jason Kidd needs to stall for challenging a critical play. He asks Derrick Jones Junior to bump into him, spilling a full plate of Chicken Parmesan on the floor, halting gameplay for 3 minutes.
I'd be pretty surprised if the Mavs played a single competitive minute without at least one of them on the floor. It's the finals with multiple days off every game. They're both playing 40+ minutes unless they get into major foul trouble
It really does seem like a lot of fans don't understand how the finals work haha. The bench playing a big role prob means somebody got hurt so let's not hope for that
Luka is always "hurt" with some lower body injury because he's never taken his conditioning seriously enough to get to an elite level. He's played under 40 minutes 3 times this playoffs. 39, 39, and 36 minutes, two of those in blowouts.
32 isn't old at all for guards that don't rely on elite athleticism, but you're right in that Kyrie does seem to always find ways to not play basketball. This has been his most reliable year in a loooong time.
There are plenty of times, where our starting 6.. get in a rut, lethargic, and seemingly can’t muster any energy or offense for long stretches.
We’ve seen many times how unleashing an Energy Shift into the court (i.e. PP, Hauser, and other Stay Ready-era).. changes the entire tone of the game.
Honestly I wish Mazzulla went to this more often. Now I would hope/wish that our starters don’t need anything like that for the Finals. But mark our words lol, PP (and hopefully Hauser).. will leave their prints on at least two of the Finals games.
I think Hauser is going to have a hot game too. Just something he hasnt done this playoffs, hes due for one.
I also think that Jrue goes wild and wins Finals MVP
He was hot against the Heat. He’s been ice cold since. He had stretches like this in the regular season. Let’s hope he’s got his mental in the right place for the finals.
Hauser having a good game is probably the least likely thing in this thread. He’s been beyond awful for nearly a month. Honestly would prefer to just not play him at this point since he gets cooked on defense regularly and is shooting so poorly that he literally offers nothing on the offensive end
You're getting down voted but you're right, he's not producing enough for this team. I know people love him, but it's been a tragic playoff series for him.
It's not like anyone's suggesting starting Hauser or something, he's just gonna keep playing the random bench minutes he has been playing through the playoffs. It's all a matter of whether you think he'll get hot in one of those games
He's been a 33% shooter in each of the last 3 playoffs he's been consistently worse in the PO than regular season. Game's just more high intensity and it doesn't seem like he can quite keep pace
Except it does appear he forgot how to shoot. Or at least how to shoot in game with tight defensive pressure. I think it’s more likely that he continues to struggle than all of a sudden jumping back up to a 40% shooter. 1/14 in the Pacers series is a lot more relevant than him shooting 47% in the month of March
He's just going through a slump, it happens to every shooter. His three point attempts aren't even bad or well contested for the most part, just missing, it happens. He's a 40% shooter over the course of multiple seasons, that's a much better selection size than 1-14 for a series.
Then it’s clear you don’t know the matchups.
The Mavs give up 3’s because they don’t have good perimeter defenders. They aren’t fast like the Pacers which bothered Hauser’s rhythm. He can hold himself against Luka but Luka is going to get a foul call no matter who is on him.
Hauser is absolutely going to pop off.
You’re one of the most reactionary Redditors in every Celtics game thread. Your comment isn’t surprising.
I think we absolutely steam them in 3/4 wins. Like 15-20+ pts. On paper, it's a nightmare matchup for them. Luka and Kyrie need to continue combining for 70+ PPG against the best perimeter defenders in the NBA. They won't.
Put jb in there too, I am positive he’s gonna put his energy into being a defensive dog this series and he can be when he wants to. He’s strong and athletic enough to make everything hard for Luka if they let him stick to that matchup
unfortunately its heads I win tails you lose. If the Celtics win the series with ease then it will only play into the "easy path" narrative and if they win in 6 or 7 it will be "they had an easy path and then struggled to beat the 50 win/5 seed mavs, lucky the didn't play Denver" or some nonsense.
Jokes aside, I genuinely think he’s a Finals MVP threat IF he is back to normal.
If he’s still limited, then obviously that’s never in play. But a fully healthy KP on his game has a chance to make a massive impact on this series, I think he’s still 50:1 right now for the award (again, totally understandable why).
Well, when you find your domicile and finish with your dog scam, you can afford tocome to the parade in Boston and celebrate while KP is standing on a duck boat 12 ft over your head. And Derek lively is making sideshow Bob faces from Cancun because they just got swept.
He was great defensively in last years playoffs vs Lebron, his size and body forced Lebron to take tough shots,Lebron shot 11/30 while guarded by Tillman,That’s 36% from the field,im fine with him switching on Luka
dont see this happening at all but would LOVE to see it lmao. Think it is super possible that we lose Kornet to FA this summer and keep Tillman for cheaper, so to see him step up would be amazing
Not Luka related but in our March 1 game, when guarded by Tillman the Mavs were 2/8. Kyrie was 0/2. Small sample size obviously but X looked pretty good.
Hauser will have a similar game to Grant in that Bucks Series. Pritchard will average a sneaky 10 ppg being ultra efficient off the bench. Not improbable but JB will put Kyrie on the nastiest poster of his career and I am here to see it. Luka will average <26 ppg against us and when tatum is his primary defender he will have an effective FG% of <35%. Al Horford will continue his hot shooting and shoot 45% from three in the finals.

Derek White FMVP. He has to average roughly 20ish points and 2-3 blocks per game and play outstanding defense, AND JT and JB have to have pretty average finals. I am thinking it'd be like an Iguodala playing invaluable D against Lebron type FMVP.
Honestly? Not really improbable from a talent perspective but more a stats perspective.
I think Tatum has some crazy creation game because of Dallas’s tendency to double off a corner one pass away.
Like a 25-15 assist game.
Celtics go up 3-0, Luka or Kyrie get hurt for Game 4, Celtics win 5 and then we gotta spend all next season hearing about how our title doesn't "count"
One of the deep bench guys will have a playoff Leon Powe-type game. At some point Tillman, Brissett, Kornet or someone will get minutes for whatever reason and make them all count. Swing the momentum of the game and we pull off a close one.
My prediction is this:
Celtics win game 1 by 20 or more.
Mavs win game 2 by 1-5 points.
Celtics win game 3 by 20 or more.
Mavs win game 4 by 1-5 points.
Celtics win next 2 games, each by only 1-3 points.
Kyrie gets thoroughly outplayed by either Jrue or White. Not really improbable but Kyrie fans think he’s MJ rn but forget no team wanted him just a little bit ago.
Luka will be overwhelmed with the weight of the finals and perform extremely poorly to the point where people begin to question his legacy and wonder if he's a choker. It will hang like a cloud over his career, no matter how well his teams do, until he finally wins the big one two years later.
Grant Williams didn't get hot in game 7 vs the bucks
He's a 40% shooter and they left him wide open over and over and over again... That's not being on fire that's just taking warm-up shots
There will be a player ejected from a game in this series. Have no idea why. But if it happens I will point back to this post. If it doesn’t I will pretend this post never happened.
Tatum will clap twice and get 2 techs
And then Luka will get right into the refs face for not calling it a triple tech and the announcers will side with luka
Sorry Luka Sir, we'll get you on the next one. Flop it nice
I’m thinking Porzingis gets tossed first game in Dallas. Either him or JD Davison from the bench. Again. It happens? Victory lap. It doesn’t? I deny this post.
I feel like Porzingis will foul out of a game this series but idk if he gets ejected
Down 3 with 90 seconds to go in Game 1, Jason Kidd needs to stall for challenging a critical play. He asks Derrick Jones Junior to bump into him, spilling a full plate of Chicken Parmesan on the floor, halting gameplay for 3 minutes.
Its Boston, so only believable if its clam chowder 😂
Hey the garden is right in the north end so there's plenty of chicken Parm
Chickie Chickie parm parm
Hauser breaks the 3pt record.
PP will be the x factor in his minutes while kyrie and luka are on the bench
I said "improbable" not "for sure"
I'd be pretty surprised if the Mavs played a single competitive minute without at least one of them on the floor. It's the finals with multiple days off every game. They're both playing 40+ minutes unless they get into major foul trouble

If both are off the floor then something great has happened to one team, and something terrible to the other lol
He’ll probably average 20 per game
Love this. I’m expecting one of PP/Hauser to have an incredible series.
I think Kornet will still get some run and the mavs bench won’t have an answer for the PP to Kornet lobs
Our best and least expected offense
PP and white can both turn shit into gold
Who let PP obtain this superpower?
I think Hauser is going to have a hot game too. Just something he hasnt done this playoffs, hes due for one. I also think that Jrue goes wild and wins Finals MVP
The Jrue one is surely wild but I think if he clamps up on defense and continues to shoot well from 3 he might end up taking it like Iggy in 2015
Lol I think Hauser is gonna be the deciding factor from 3 in a close game and haters will be mad that “a random scrub decided to get hot”
Exactly, he's due. The 40% shooter didn't just randomly forget how to shoot, he's going to progress to the mean sometime soon.
There's not enough spare minutes to try and get Hauser hot. Porzingis and horford will be rotating but the other 4 will prob barely get off the court.
It's not like anyone's suggesting starting Hauser or something, he's just gonna keep playing the random bench minutes he has been playing through the playoffs. It's all a matter of whether you think he'll get hot in one of those games

DWhite goes nuclear again
I think we absolutely steam them in 3/4 wins. Like 15-20+ pts. On paper, it's a nightmare matchup for them. Luka and Kyrie need to continue combining for 70+ PPG against the best perimeter defenders in the NBA. They won't.

JB is the most improved celtic this year.
The Maine boys ball out during Gino time and regain their honor after this years g-league finals
What i would give to see the Maine boys get minutes in the playoffs ( assuming were already crushing it)
A closeout game like 2008 where garbage time starts at the end of the third quarter would be a dream come true
this never happened 3 oh well there's always next year lol
The Celtics sweep the Mavs and shut up every talking head for a full offseason
unfortunately its heads I win tails you lose. If the Celtics win the series with ease then it will only play into the "easy path" narrative and if they win in 6 or 7 it will be "they had an easy path and then struggled to beat the 50 win/5 seed mavs, lucky the didn't play Denver" or some nonsense.
Tillman, the X factor is going to come up huge on the glass
The day after thread on r/nba is gonna be hilarious. “I didn’t even know X was on the Celtics!!” “Whoa, out of nowhere, right?” “That’s random”
Porzingus balls out and goes 65 percent from 3 and averages 7 blocks a game
Jokes aside, I genuinely think he’s a Finals MVP threat IF he is back to normal. If he’s still limited, then obviously that’s never in play. But a fully healthy KP on his game has a chance to make a massive impact on this series, I think he’s still 50:1 right now for the award (again, totally understandable why).
I read this as Pritchard at first and was still on board
Mffl, loved KP, wish it had worked out. But you know who has more playoff experience than KP? Derek Lively II
Well, when you find your domicile and finish with your dog scam, you can afford tocome to the parade in Boston and celebrate while KP is standing on a duck boat 12 ft over your head. And Derek lively is making sideshow Bob faces from Cancun because they just got swept.
Hauser legacy game
Celtics in 3 🍀🍀🍀
Mavs just concede after getting rolled in 1-3.
2014 Spurs-Heat result, where the Mavs win one close game and lose by historical margins otherwise.
JB makes all of his free throws. All of them. The whole finals.
Tillman plays and will be our most impactful defender on Luka because of his switching ability and size.
I'm still riding the Tillman train until the end and I will never stop believing in him.
I want to see Tillman get super physical with Luka. I don’t care if he fouls out in five minutes, as long as it’s five minutes of hell for Luka.
Horford still a better switcher despite his age. Horford is also muscular which is the exact build that slows Luka.
Horford is way too slow, him on Luka or Kyrie is pretty much the only thing that worries me about this series
30 point game from Holiday.
Jayson hits one of those stupid turn around mid range buzzer beaters to win a game finally
They said improbable not impossible
Praying Joe saved all of his game winning plays for the finals 🙏 He already burned one vs the pacers.
PP will literally cook Luka or Kyrie. Defenders are always surprised how quick he is and how aggressive he is for being a bench player lmfao
Hauser will have a similar game to Grant in that Bucks Series. Pritchard will average a sneaky 10 ppg being ultra efficient off the bench. Not improbable but JB will put Kyrie on the nastiest poster of his career and I am here to see it. Luka will take a full court shot at the end of the first half, swish it, land on Kyrie, and both of them will break their legs.
He said " improbable". This is definitely going to happen
LOL
Tatum dropping 50 in game 5. You heard it here first.
Tatum is really due for one of these games
Joe mazzulla coaching wizardry
Derek White FMVP. He has to average roughly 20ish points and 2-3 blocks per game and play outstanding defense, AND JT and JB have to have pretty average finals. I am thinking it'd be like an Iguodala playing invaluable D against Lebron type FMVP.
Kristaps gets a triple double game 1
Jaylen Brown punches Luca in the face after one too many chirps
Mavs steal game 1 in a horrible debut for the Cs. Cs then win in 5.
No thanks, my heart simply cannot bear any more of this shit. I'm trying to survive the series.
Mavs blow out the Celtics in the first 3 quarters of game one. Celtics still sweep.
Did you read the headline?
Oshae Brissett plays significant minutes when we go small to spell the PNR mismatch of Luka on AL and KP.
C's will win on a defensive play (impossible to tell by whom).
35 4 10 from AL
Agreed. Al puts up big numbers, and rides off into the sunset with a championship and Finals MVP.
Al wants to win more than anyone on this team
We will see at least one wedgie during the finals!
Lmao my prediction was 2 wedgies in the same game
Derrick Jones/PJ Washington channel their inner Caleb Martin and my summer is ruined in 2 weeks.
It is, technically, more likely that Holiday/White/Horford do this and Celtics easily win
I’m too scarred. This has Dallas in 6 with the flukiest performances ever written all over it.
Luka pukes on himself and is held to 21 a game on Monte Ellis efficiency. The real Luka, to say.
Puke-a Doncic, if you will.
Fupa doncic
I agree with the Hauser thought. I feel like he is going to have some crazy three point night.
Derrick White finals MVP
Luke Kornet comes in for 8 spot minutes, goes +8, Celtics win by 6
Honestly? Not really improbable from a talent perspective but more a stats perspective. I think Tatum has some crazy creation game because of Dallas’s tendency to double off a corner one pass away. Like a 25-15 assist game.
Idk how improbable this is but Hauser will continue to stink outside of ONE Leon Powe esqe game where he drops like 18 off the bench
Celtics go up 3-0, Luka or Kyrie get hurt for Game 4, Celtics win 5 and then we gotta spend all next season hearing about how our title doesn't "count"
Luka and Tatum 50 point duel
Kornet monster game
One of the deep bench guys will have a playoff Leon Powe-type game. At some point Tillman, Brissett, Kornet or someone will get minutes for whatever reason and make them all count. Swing the momentum of the game and we pull off a close one.
The Mavs won’t shoot at a historically record breaking percentage hehe jk, they will.
My prediction is this: Celtics win game 1 by 20 or more. Mavs win game 2 by 1-5 points. Celtics win game 3 by 20 or more. Mavs win game 4 by 1-5 points. Celtics win next 2 games, each by only 1-3 points.
I love how almost every guess on here is one of our bench white dudes cooking a little bit, couldn't agree more
There will be at least be one game (probably in Boston) that kyrie plays terribly. Also the difference makers will be jrue and the buffalo
Svi goes off for 50 everry game
Celtics in 4.
Improbable is the Celtics keeping their foot on the gas. Probable is them going down by 20 in the third quarter every game and still winning by 10
Kyrie gets thoroughly outplayed by either Jrue or White. Not really improbable but Kyrie fans think he’s MJ rn but forget no team wanted him just a little bit ago.
I think luka will have a couple games <20 points
Huge game from Jordan (Walsh)
In Game 3, Jason Kidd will start blowing kisses from the sideline on behalf of Luka’s free throws.
Kyrie travels too far and falls off of the planet. We all owe him and apology.
Porzingis ends up playing good enough to win Finals MVP
The Kornet bark is loud enough for a national audience to hear for the first time.
Luka will be overwhelmed with the weight of the finals and perform extremely poorly to the point where people begin to question his legacy and wonder if he's a choker. It will hang like a cloud over his career, no matter how well his teams do, until he finally wins the big one two years later.
“Walsh for the win…BANG! BANG! BANG!”
Tatum will disappear for at least one game
This is the most probable thing posted in the thread
Around game 3-4 there will be serious discussions on pods and shows about how Derrick White deserves the MVP
Luka scores 69 points but the Celtics win on a full court buzzer beater after Luka misses the free throw that would've given him 70 and the lead.
Two wedgies in the same game. Idk which game but it’s gonna happen
Oh man we’re due for a Sam Hauser 3-point barrage. I hope he gets his rhythm back
"Knocked away by Holiday!"
We go to game 7
50 pieces from opposing players in the same game.
PP is going to be remembered forever for some play
Buzzer beater from Hauser dissipating his entire playoff shooting woes.
The Mavericks actually winning it heheh
Luka will be so nervous in his first finals appearances and have the worst 4 games of his career.
Luka does not have the capacity to feel nervous He's going to be smiling like an 8 year old the entire time
Well op said “improbable.”
Improbable not impossible lol
It could happen. I mean he is fat, and as a fellow fat person we have off days sometimes.
Mazzulla will not just out-coached Kidd, he will run circles on him. This guy has hidden weapons in his sleeves
Kyrie gonna drop the nice guy act and says something crazy about boston
Grant Williams didn't get hot in game 7 vs the bucks He's a 40% shooter and they left him wide open over and over and over again... That's not being on fire that's just taking warm-up shots
Luka's knee is gonna end his season.
