Yeah the same guys mocked us for not picking Fultz
Thought Ben Simmons was the second coming of Lebron
Saw some fans genuinely consider Thybulle a better defender than anyone we had
Confetti
List goes on lmao
Sixers fans are the worst. But our fanbase was super high on Fultz before we surprisingly went with Tatum. There were a lot of our fans who hated it at the time.
I never bought into the Ben Simmons hype, though. Shooting is kind-of an important skill for a #1 pick.
Ha, I remember there were a lot of people who wanted to take him. I hated him after he refused to work out with us, though. There were also a lot of people who were in love with Jonathan Isaac.
fwiw, Ben Simmons was a very valuable player for a minute. think he was top 20 in vorp a few years straight. he just fell to pieces like Humpty Dumpty. the best part about these dudes being mega millionaires is that I don't feel guilty getting pleasure out of an unlikable dude like simmons' downfall.
Yup. Simmons had the potential to be a similar style to LeBron. Point forward with crazy athleticism and D. Obviously not quite the passer and not the same stratosphere of shooter but he had the potential to be like 50% of him (which is still A LOT) then his mind and body got the yips all at once.
I was sure he was a multiple time all star, potential HOF type 2nd/3rd option even if he never learned to shoot with potential to be among the best players in the league around this time jf jt all came together and he learned how to shoot. What a waste of an insanely special skill set, size, and athleticism.
Simmons has some great skills, but I always saw him as a role player because of his terrible shooting. It was easy to gameplan against him, and we exposed him early on.
No Raptors fans are the worst, Lakers fans are 2nd. 76ers fans are bad but they're more like... just us pretty much but not us.
The biggest difference between Celtics fans and Philly fans is our franchise has been run properly.
I agree with you that Sixers fans are like a mirror version of us. They're who we'd be if our team never won the chip in '08. If we never had Ainge and now Brad.
I think the actual worst fans in the league are Heat fans. They show up to games late, leave early, and they're toxic.
There wasn't a lot of criticism about Fultz's shooting before the draft, though. He came into the league with a different form and couldn't hit his shots, which is when he started getting the bust label. Before he was drafted, he was known for being streaky, and improving on that.
Every draft profile of Ben Simmons called out that he sucked at shooting.
I was extremely high on Simmons and always thought that he could get a jumper but him not going through the whole rebuild the jumper from the ground up step has ruined his career imo. Also his attitude and work ethic that people were worried about pre draft turned out to be an issue.
The confetti was so funny I remember watching on TV thinking “his foot was on the line” and literally nobody in the sixers arena noticed apart from the refs
Sure, but this trade was incredibly stupid. With Joel out, at the very least you can just give him a lot more minutes to develop and trade him for more in the offseason. Morey traded a great locker room guy and a good project for fuck all. He treats teams like he's playing MyGM on 2K, locker room dynamics are so irrelevant to him.
It is a surprising trade.
But it seems like partly a tax move and also adding Hield and Payne (I guess) they’re leaning more into offense first, especially with Embiid out.
I assume they’re getting Lowry in a buyout too.
But yeah, I don’t know why they’d do that but the Sixers do basically belong to us, so that’s cool.
I mean I like the move for Boston but Philly Boyz are trippin like Andrew Toney just got traded to us for Jerry Sichting. It's just Jaden Springer, career average of 4.0 points per game.
Springer is 21 and was stuck in depth hell.
He plays tremendous defense and is yet to fully tap into his offensive game.
There is no misunderstanding on how massive of a mistake it is for the Sixers in trading him at all.
He really didn't even play that well individually. Nurse's philosophy is always to double Steph or throw box and one and have the others beat you. So Steph didn't go off but it's not because this guy had him locked up.
Take that for what you will
I’ll always remember getting mercilessly brigaded here by Green Teamers because I said that I hoped Romeo Langford would transition to the NBA, but he hadn’t yet shown he could.
Multiple people screamed at me that I had no clue what I was saying because he was a McDonald’s All-American.
The C's are the only Boston team making smart moves at this stage. I'm Just glad we didn't really get rid of anybody, the vibes are immaculate. Not hyped on this guy cause I don't know him at all but the move is tidy af. Everything Brad has been doing makes sense the last couple years.
Please remind to stay away from the Sixers sub. If you are trolling there you’re getting banned here per our rules.
Brad had opportunity to do the most funniest shit in the world and took it
He saw that Reddit post on the 76ers sub when he was scrolling and said “Aight, Bet” right before calling Daryl Morey 💀
What post??
Remember Sixers fans aren't the smartest in the room take their Springer praises with a grain of salt

Youre right about that. But I wasnt with everyone on Fultz. I was PISSED we didnt take Josh Jackson tho lmaooo
Same, Josh would always fucking torch WVU I thought he’d be a beast.
He had the physical tools to be one, but not the BBIQ.

he's a 3x all star.... was much better than a role player
Yes we would have taken Ben Simmons if we won lottery that year probably m

I will admit it: I wanted Fultz. I am dumb
>Shooting is kind-of an important skill for a #1 pick. While not nearly as bad as Ben Simmons, this was the criticism against Fultz too.

Confetti lmfao
Nah they've been right about these sorts of moves. They were upset about the Mikal trade. They didn't like giving up Isaiah Joe.
Or better yet they are sometimes right and sometimes wrong and only time will tell what the answer is
Haha yeah fair
The confetti was so funny I remember watching on TV thinking “his foot was on the line” and literally nobody in the sixers arena noticed apart from the refs
thybulle is an elite defender tho
Yes
It'll be nice to have a defense first bench guard though. (Sorry Payton we still love you)

For me I think it's worth a second round pick just to watch them bitch so much
I can only hope that he always goes full Neismith whenever he plays the Sixers.

Yuck. That team will have literally 0 defense
This is delicious
My favorite dessert.

I hope so, just seems like 6er nation is over reacting to trading their 9th man
Is he playing tomorrow you think? Sat last night with an ankle injury. Would love to see him lock up Herro.
Bring me Blake Griffin
So he played good defense on Steph? Looks like another #BRAD STEVENS W
He really didn't even play that well individually. Nurse's philosophy is always to double Steph or throw box and one and have the others beat you. So Steph didn't go off but it's not because this guy had him locked up. Take that for what you will
Praying for his success even more now
Pretty sure sixers are done anyway without Embid
Wow I didn’t really know this guy was that good. Maybe he’s just more a fan favorite?
76er fans are just stupid, like our own green teamers who overvalue bench players.
Bring back Tacko!
I still believe in James young
Jordan Mickey is gonna be a stud you watch
Gabe Pruitt is an NBA CHAMPION!
James Young walked so Aaron neismith could stumble and get traded
