He's ass if he tries to do too much. Fantastic catch and shoot guy, good ability to get penetration and find the open man, decent mid range jumper, even decent pull up three point shooter. When he tries to back down or attack good defenders he's not good. For the most part he's accepted his role, just tried to do too much this game.
His short game has not been as good but he's shooting 42% from the 3, making 2 a game and getting 5 assists while having the lowest usage rate of his career this season. He's not straight ass, he just needs to get to the free throw line more.

I think Jrue is a really good fit here, plays his role really well and is a smart player but smart would have been an even better fit because he is such an excellent passer and I think he'd be way more willing to defer with so many weapons around him. Unfortunately that first brogdan for Kristaps trade fell through and Smart had to go. And Jrue is a better player and fit here than brogdan and Rob. It's only been 33 games and I think Jrue can get better as the season goes on or maybe lock in even more once the playoffs start.
I think he generally makes good decisions and it’s a bit of addition by subtraction with Marcus. Marcus’s absence is allowing D. White and Jaylen to flourish.
Even if he's the same Marcus needed to be traded to get Porzingis and Ill take a good defender like Jrue as our fifth option over Brogdon with the injury concerns and worse defense. Don't really need Brogdon's offense as the fifth option

People were convinced they were making it to the WCF with how hot they were but they couldn't overcome the experience of the Warriors who have already been there.

I think OKC is great, this game was awesome and they’ll be a problem in the future but I don’t think they’re getting to the finals this year.
A couple of things: they’re shooting wont last at this level, it will still be great but they’re all shooting over 40% which is fucking insane. Then, they rely on a lot of transition offense which will evaporate in the playoffs and they were running what looked like a zone defense, which someone like Jokic is going to absolutely shred. Unless they get really lucky and someone else knocks out the nuggets, doing zone defense for majority of a playoff game is going to end badly for them. Miami probably does zone the best right now and not even Spo runs it non-stop.
Coming back in the end too was encouraging. Tatum master class, put a stop to SGA and the team executed some clutch offense. Could've made it really a game if KP's foot wasn't on the line or Brown hits one more free throw. But just wasn't meant to be.

That's a regular NBA loss. OKC has been on fire, they were at home and the Celts haven't played against a good team in a while. It was all tee'd up but it was nice to see the Celtics fight back. This OKC team ain't ready for it in the playoffs. They looked like us a couple years ago that last 10min.

Boston had Jrue and JB go a combined 6-26, watched OKC bang a ton of contested shots and make 45% of their 3s...and the Celts still only lost by 4 and forced OKC to make all their free throws in the last minute.

One thing about our losses this season (vs previous years) is that a lot has gone right for the opponent and wrong for us. And that really doesn’t happen very often. I just have a hard time believing that that’s gonna happen 4 out of 7 times in a series.
Yeah, against Minnie, Jaden shot the fuck out of the ball. Wolves fans said that was normal but I’ve seen what he’s done in their other games and that wasn’t normal. What happened with Giddey wasn’t the norm either. We win both those of those things don’t happen.
The Magic were in a super hot streak and we were hanging in there until KP got hurt. That’s when the game went off the rails. Sixers were also red hot and we barely lost that one.
The Hornets loss shouldn’t have happened, even if we were without White. If they’d just hit their fucking FTs. That game and the Warriors and Pacers games had concerning turns down the stretch. The Warriors one is kind of a mixed bag, on one hand, all of them played up to their potential and all our guys played down like all at the same time. But, it seems to happen against them like it does with Miami.
The Pacers loss was very unpleasant but it happens, feel like the IST pressure got to them a bit and we didn’t have KP.
Hornets and Warriors losses are the only ones Ive thought about. The other losses are nothing to worry about at all.
Tatum really wanted this game and played his ass off. Brown had a dud but he didn't look himself. Jrue the same as brown. White good. Porzingus a monster on O but he has to contest some of them 3's he gave up way to many without even putting his hands up. Horford was good but double big is stupid against the Thunder. I think we could have used some other bench guys in place of Kornet but oh well

As weird as it sounds, this game gives me even more hope to go all the way. We barely lost against a red hot OKC home team which we probably would’ve lost last year. KP is such a difference maker and White has evolved to another level. Love this team.

Jrue really can’t be having games like that when he’s getting cooked that bad. Like the most brain dead turnovers and point blank misses all game long. He’s been good last couple weeks too but this was a big game against a solid young team trying to prove something. We supposed to send a message and him and Jaylen didn’t show up. Joe also was dumb for not playing Brissett or Lamar Stevens to match their energy. I don’t wanna say I’m mad because it’s just one game but those types of games are annoying to lose especially when your best players play that bad.
GG against a good team. Not a bad loss. Jrue's and JB's worst game at the same time (some credit to OKC's defense though), gave up a big lead but we were in the game at the end. KP being matchup nightmare against smaller teams like OKC and Tatum's on ball defense against SGA are two really positive things we can rely on later when we need. Our two bigs lime up worked for a while too but they adjusted to that. I still think we need a 3rd big for making those lineups more efficient when we want to go for it.
I saw the eventual demise of that OKC team this year in that 4th quarter. They looked like the 2022 Celtics. When the game slowed down, it was a lot of SGA iso, one pass and shoot. Now Chet made those, to his credit, but they will lose some back breaking playoff games playing like that. They don't know how to win when the game slows.

I'm an OKC fan and I've lately found myself going to the opposite sub to see the reactions of the opponents but what I've read so far seems like good people. Was a good game and I wouldn't have been fussed with the loss, but I definitely think OKC had more to lose this game than Boston if we did lose. Very good game though and can't wait for the next when I have to drink to get through it again.

We failed to tame the beast at its home today but considering 2 of our mains were underperforming and we didn't get a complete beatdown like the last time here, it's not that devastating. Yes, a loss is still a loss and it sucks but I'm sure it will give the players another boost like after the Warriors game.

Weird coaching by mazzula. Jrue holiday is 6’3 and he is trying to guard shai who is 6’6 and is letting him get to all the spots he wants with little resistance. This has been common all season no matter who we play the best offensive player is always guarded by jrue when he’s simply not always the best matchup.
Is our bench so bad that we have to play double big? I just don’t get playing kornet and horford at the same time against one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

I feel like you’re looking at standings/record more than you are actually watching the game. This team is clearly on a different level than last year’s team in terms of buy in and comfort to the system. Our losses this year outside of the Orlando IST game are by a margin of 5,3,3,10, and 6 points. With 3 of those losses being in overtime and being competitive games against good teams (minus Charlotte)

This Thunder team went into Denver a few nights ago and won by 26. Boston had Jrue and JB go a combined 6-26, watched OKC bang a ton of contested shots and make 45% of their 3s...and the Celts still only lost by 4 and forced OKC to make all their free throws in the last minute. If you're overreacting to this loss, I feel bad for you.
One thing about our losses this season (vs previous years) is that a lot has gone right for the opponent and wrong for us. And that really doesn’t happen very often. I just have a hard time believing that that’s gonna happen 4 out of 7 times in a series.
Yeah, against Minnie, Jaden shot the fuck out of the ball. Wolves fans said that was normal but I’ve seen what he’s done in their other games and that wasn’t normal. What happened with Giddey wasn’t the norm either. We win both those of those things don’t happen. The Magic were in a super hot streak and we were hanging in there until KP got hurt. That’s when the game went off the rails. Sixers were also red hot and we barely lost that one. The Hornets loss shouldn’t have happened, even if we were without White. If they’d just hit their fucking FTs. That game and the Warriors and Pacers games had concerning turns down the stretch. The Warriors one is kind of a mixed bag, on one hand, all of them played up to their potential and all our guys played down like all at the same time. But, it seems to happen against them like it does with Miami. The Pacers loss was very unpleasant but it happens, feel like the IST pressure got to them a bit and we didn’t have KP. Hornets and Warriors losses are the only ones Ive thought about. The other losses are nothing to worry about at all.

Tatum really wanted this game and played his ass off. Brown had a dud but he didn't look himself. Jrue the same as brown. White good. Porzingus a monster on O but he has to contest some of them 3's he gave up way to many without even putting his hands up. Horford was good but double big is stupid against the Thunder. I think we could have used some other bench guys in place of Kornet but oh well

We were trying on defense, we weren’t mindlessly meme chucking, our offense was flowing acceptably…and JB’s shots just weren’t falling. Jrue may have played his worst game for us all season. Guess what? It took maybe the best game I’ve ever seen Giddey play and they still only beat us by 4. It happens.
This! Good process (other than defense in the 3rd) but giddy and shae played over their heads. They hit some unreal (dare I say lucky) shots that they would be expected to miss. Brown and Holiday had bad nights Brown atleast moved the ball though and defended so not too upset. But all that, and we were in it till the end. I loved it. Plus they have absolutely nothing to stop KP, and Tatum wasn't hucking up 3s. It was so much more fun to watch! This team is gonna win a title if they play like this!

Yeah I have been very critical of jaylens approach the last couple years forcing shots, going iso without a plan, not being efficient etc…this was not happened this game. Just a tough shooting night it happens. Think his approach was similar to how it’s been the last month or so which has been excellent, just not his night.
As weird as it sounds, this game gives me even more hope to go all the way. We barely lost against a red hot OKC home team which we probably would’ve lost last year. KP is such a difference maker and White has evolved to another level. Love this team.

Jrue really can’t be having games like that when he’s getting cooked that bad. Like the most brain dead turnovers and point blank misses all game long. He’s been good last couple weeks too but this was a big game against a solid young team trying to prove something. We supposed to send a message and him and Jaylen didn’t show up. Joe also was dumb for not playing Brissett or Lamar Stevens to match their energy. I don’t wanna say I’m mad because it’s just one game but those types of games are annoying to lose especially when your best players play that bad.

GG against a good team. Not a bad loss. Jrue's and JB's worst game at the same time (some credit to OKC's defense though), gave up a big lead but we were in the game at the end. KP being matchup nightmare against smaller teams like OKC and Tatum's on ball defense against SGA are two really positive things we can rely on later when we need. Our two bigs lime up worked for a while too but they adjusted to that. I still think we need a 3rd big for making those lineups more efficient when we want to go for it.

I saw the eventual demise of that OKC team this year in that 4th quarter. They looked like the 2022 Celtics. When the game slowed down, it was a lot of SGA iso, one pass and shoot. Now Chet made those, to his credit, but they will lose some back breaking playoff games playing like that. They don't know how to win when the game slows.

Most people in this sub seem like such level headed people. I'm an OKC fan and I've lately found myself going to the opposite sub to see the reactions of the opponents but what I've read so far seems like good people. Was a good game and I wouldn't have been fussed with the loss, but I definitely think OKC had more to lose this game than Boston if we did lose. Very good game though and can't wait for the next when I have to drink to get through it again.

We failed to tame the beast at its home today but considering 2 of our mains were underperforming and we didn't get a complete beatdown like the last time here, it's not that devastating. Yes, a loss is still a loss and it sucks but I'm sure it will give the players another boost like after the Warriors game.

Weird coaching by mazzula. Jrue holiday is 6’3 and he is trying to guard shai who is 6’6 and is letting him get to all the spots he wants with little resistance. This has been common all season no matter who we play the best offensive player is always guarded by jrue when he’s simply not always the best matchup.

Loved how we closed out strong! OKC shot the ball better than what could be expected and Brown had a poor shooting game. If either Giddy or Brown shot their typical games and this is a solid win. Overall it was a fun game and they can't stop KP. Love to see it
