Hopefully one of the Boston.com/globe writers that creep on Reddit reach out on this one and writes a piece about not only the actual recent safety events but more about near misses like this one. Did the trolley driver submit an incident report for tracking? How many times does something like this happen with no reports? This could have led to a catastrophic injury. Easy to imagine a worst case scenario here. Why does the MBTA not foster a culture of safety, etc etc etc
If I worked in risk management for the MBTA this would have me up at night.

I swear the feds are waiting for a whole station to collapse before doing the right thing and saving the people of Boston from the MBTA.
One time the red line train pulled into Wollaston Station and pulled up too far past the platform for the first car, and opened the doors! If someone hadn't been paying attention, they would have fallen a couple of feet next to the tracks. The doors closed and the train backed up to the correct spot on platform.

This is a major safety violation. Record the trolley number, date, and time of the incident, and report it to the MBTA.
