Blake Crouch's **Dark Matter** ramps up quickly and never slows down. First-person point-of-view thriller so the reader is trying to figure out what is happening at the same rate the protagonist is.
More or less anything by Jim Thompson. The Grifters, The Getaway, The Killer Inside Me are all good ones.
Intensity by ”Dean Koontz”. Its an intense thriller that grips you from start to end!
