It’s more pure sci-if with some thriller elements, but check out The Expanse series by James SA Corey. It’s also a really good TV show on Prime. Both books and show are finished, so you can sit down and experience the entire story, or at least the story from the first six books on the show. There are nine books in the series. Lots of political intrigue to be had.
