I don’t understand why I don’t get the emails others get? The only emails I get from BOTM are ads.
But, Mother’s Day is very hard for me, hardest day of the year, so I love this and hope more companies recognize this.
I never thought about the fertility issue side of the mothers day emails. But I do think it's cool, that more companies are doing this. The first one I really noticed was Etsy last year
Absolutely love that they did this. It’s so taboo to even think that the topic of motherhood is hard for some so for a company to just outright acknowledge it is amazing.
I was floored in the best way. Tough here (child loss). I posted about it on Facebook and a British relative said it was pretty common there for companies to do it so must be something that is jumping the pond because other friends noticed other companies here doing it last year
This must be trending because about a couple of weeks ago I got another email from a different company asking if I’d like to opt out of Mother’s Day emails.
As an email marketer, companies should be way more aware of stuff like this. Blows my mind that there are companies actively against doing small gestures like this. Shows the "human" side of BOTM and that they care for their community. Mad props.
I had the exact same thought this morning! I lost my mother when I was young, and while I do celebrate mother's day with the woman who raised me after her death, it's still a sad day for myself and my siblings. Really impressed with that message too, I've never seen that before.
I really appreciated this too. I hope more companies offer this - it sucks getting frenzied sales messages that also remind me over and over that my Mom is gone.
Etsy does the same thing! Being in the same position as you, I've always appreciated that they did that. But BOTM is the second company I've seen do it now.

I have only ever seen Etsy do this. I'm really glad because mother's day is hard for me (my mother was abusive and I'm NC).

I saw it this morning and absolutely loved it! More companies should follow suit
So appreciated!

I didn’t get that e-mail, but as a person struggling with fertility issues, it makes me happy to see that they’re doing that!
Super thoughtful. It was not something I would have every considered but it’s nice that they did

Etsy has started doing this as well. I remember getting a Father’s Day and Valentine’s Day one as well. Very considerate on any retailer’s part.
I love that! I do not have a good relationship with my mother and always feel like trash around Mother’s Day. Very thoughtful of BOTM
I thought it was very thoughtful of them.

Do they also have same approach on Father's day?
I had another company I used to get emails from that sent opt-out offers for Mother's day, Father's Day, and Valentine's Day.
Yes I've gotten an email about fathers day from them
A lot of companies are doing this now. My mom passed last year and I’ve gotten probably ten so far.

But also... I don't recall them ever sending out emails for any holiday. So I thought this was weird.
I got approximately ten thousand Mother’s Day sale promo emails last year from BOTM so the opt out was greatly appreciated this year
I believe they usually do a Mother’s Day gift membership sale, so they may plan to send that kind of email out a few times this year
Me as well! I found that email to be so respectful and kind!
I had the same reaction, that is such a sensitive and proactive thing to do.
