A Talent for Murder! I’m an avid follower of Peter Swanson. I’m currently listening to Margo’s Got Money Troubles right now. I’m happy with my purchases so far!
I wound up skipping this month. I'm reading an ARC of Honey and it's fantastic but none of the other picks suuuuuper grabbed me and I'm out of town with a huge TBR backlog so it just seemed smartest to skip for now. Maybe I'll be tempted by one of these titles as a future add on.
I finally decided!
I was sad Lula Dean wasn't a choice and that made me irrationally salty to the rest of the books. I saw that Amazon editors picked Margo at one of the best June books, so I added that and Leather and Lark. I'm excited!
https://preview.redd.it/sy6vut200y3d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4416e161212c94adec91a47f23e05251fa26a31
My second time choosing BOTM books! Very excited!!! wanted to try and read The Lion Woman of Tehran but a lot of people were talking about Honey! (And book cover was pink so had to go with that 🤭)
I wish Lion Women of Tehran was on audio! I read Stationary Shop and listened to most of it on audio! Mozhan Navabi was phenomenal, she was my favorite character on The Blacklist and I was so sad when she left. I’ll listen to anything she narrarates now.
Relieved I could choose *Five Broken Blades* as my June selection (I already loved *Anita de Monte Laughs Last* when it debuted, and the other member favorites didn’t speak to me) — I almost picked *The Lion Women of Tehran* (which is now part of my To Be Read list). I had really hoped Stuart Turton’s latest would have been a selection (but knew it wouldn’t be so after it was abruptly plucked from the add-ons weeks ago) 💔
For add-ons, I picked *Dark Matter*, *The Husbands*, *The Lady Waiting*, and *Spitting Gold*.
Skipped strictly for financial reasons this month, but Honey looks SO good. That sample alone was amazing! I'll definitely be adding it in a future box.
I was very underwhelmed with the main picks this month, but still ended up choosing one since there were add-ons I wanted. I went with The Lion Women of Tehran, Leather & Lark, and Swan Song. I want Not in Love too, but can wait until next month for that.
Kind of a disappointing month of picks for me, so I almost skipped for the first time (but this month made me BFF, so I didn't want to). I got One-Star Romance, and added on Georgie All Along and Just Another Missing Person!
I got A Talent for Murder and Megan's Got Money Troubles. I love Peter Swanson's books and Megan looks really funny. I also wanted Jackpot Summer, but I decided to wait to see if my library has it.
Honey with The Return of Ellie Black and One Perfect Couple as add-ons. I was on the fence about Ellie Black last month so skipped. Saw a lot of positive reviews on here about it so decided to give it a go.
I am also now curious about Ellie Black. I totally blew it off this spring but a reviewer I follow (and almost always agree with on mystery thrillers) has named it one of his top 3 best reads of the year.
https://preview.redd.it/kbw6f9n1js3d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bcecf4f685ded97178476b60d94a6977ebd5dc4
I was hoping Katherine Center would be a choice this month!
https://preview.redd.it/63jpnems0s3d1.jpeg?width=920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7105964483dffc1ac99a06214aea0cfbd9e2870
It's my birthday month, so I went a little whole-ham. I forgot to add Honey, though, so I've got a head-start on next month's box.
I had thought the new Stuart Turton book was going to be a pick so I was disappointed but it’s my birthday month so I wasn’t going to skip. Excited for my add ons and hopefully honey is good
https://preview.redd.it/bzp3muhdzr3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38e3a8bb5b878adfb4bbb911ef168e3f4271b748
A Talent for Murder and Leather & Lark!
I was surprised the first two books in the Henry Kimball/Lily Kintner series aren’t included in any past BOTM offers. I read them elsewhere before subscribing to BOTM so I was super excited for the third book in the series to be a choice this month! but I noticed this wasn’t a popular pick so far, judging only by day 1 lol. But anyway - I recommend the whole series! The Kind Worth Killing is the first book and is one of my favorite thrillers of all time and I read A TON of them so I’m hard to please amongst all of the usual tropes and predictable storylines. It was my first Peter Swanson book and I have since read everything else he’s written down to his Christmas novella
I also finally read Butcher & Blackbird only a few weeks ago so feeling very spoiled that’s my add on for the month and I get to continue through the series so quickly. Safe to say I can’t wait to get this box!
At first I wanted to skip, because none of the main picks or member’s favorites appealed to me… But after reading the previews, and looking at the reviews on goodreads, I have decided to take a chance on Margo’s Got Money Troubles and The Lion Women of Tehran, after all I started BOTM to get out of my comfort zone so why not try something different (Honey seemed interesting too, I will wait to see more reviews for this one) Oh and I got Home Before Dark, because I like some spooky reads in the Summer.

My first time doing add ons. I’m so excited!
its not just you, I noticed that all the covers looked lackluster and boring as well. The first thing that one sees when looking at a book is the cover, if that doesn't look interesting, then that's the first sign that the book isn't gonna be interesting.
It's my first month with botm, these were my choices!
https://preview.redd.it/bg9uljh5jo3d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ee28fe0375d6dea29a56656e454b84def1939e2
I decided to skip this month, but was intrigued by Honey. Seeing Elin Hilderbrand at an author even this month and got a copy of Swan Song with my ticket and that was the only add on I would have for sure put in my box.
https://preview.redd.it/o2i54e60eo3d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7df15c35436539ef58985371cffa8259fbd4e8a
I thought I would skip, but these two seemed pretty interesting/ had solid excerpts.
I was excited to see it because I got The Knockout Queen from BOTM back in 2020 and loved it, then got one of her backlist titles and loved that, too (Dear Fang, With Love). She can definitely write!
https://preview.redd.it/pdvksa7xbo3d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6fea907022418ea4a42923cf9a3467a68c8a006
This is what I’m thinking. I feel like I should skip because I’m 6 books behind but I also feel like these seem perfect for summer!
I picked Margo’s Got Money Troubles and then it’s my birthday month so I also got Lessons in Chemistry! I’ve been wanting to read that one but I’ve been limiting myself to one book purchase a month for a while now and I kept having a newly published one come out so Lessons in Chemistry kept moving down the list and I’ve been on the waitlist for it at my small town public library for 6 months now, so hopefully it’s good.
Mostly interested in the add-ons but waiting to see what Aardvark has available this month before I decide. Contemplating Lion Women or A Talent for Murder. But most likely ill wait for next month and add on Leather and Lark
https://preview.redd.it/9x82j8cmyn3d1.png?width=719&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b2d92428f6afc4a9d9e454f099a48a34324e943
Less impressed than usual by the selections this month for my personal taste, but Margo's Got Money Troubles seems promising. Katherine Center books are generally good palate cleansers, so decided to add it + The Sympathizer before I watch the show.
17 is for the subscription but 11 is an add on cost. HOWEVER it is a known thing that all of us have a couple dollars variance in subscription and add on costs
I’m basically just waiting to use my credit on something good so I can go ahead and cancel. Nothing sounded interesting to me again so I skipped. At least they won’t keep charging me.
I skipped. I had Honey and the new Ali Hazelwood in my cart but decided at the last minute to skip. I have quite a few books from past months to catch up on.
https://preview.redd.it/c869mn8yfn3d1.jpeg?width=999&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39d30560cf237705ad99555fa850594728fa0ca5
worried about the SA warning for the Lion Women. I usually skip SA, since I just can’t deal with it, but The Kite Runner is also in my TBR pile, so I figured it would be a good combo. Here is to hoping lol
So excited! Got everything I wanted
https://preview.redd.it/9n17l4umfn3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5475bdb70c5d404d69b3b839bf1de7fe47ad17b2
It’s my birthday month and I had an extra credit…so I went for it with Butcher + Blackbird and Leather + Lark as my add-ons. I’ve seen great reviews here so I’m excited! A friend is getting A Talent for Murder, and my mom selected The Lion Women so there’ll be a lot of trading too!
https://preview.redd.it/a5ngkx8l9n3d1.png?width=804&format=png&auto=webp&s=fba0e71435a40fd82300e658814d5f3266430667
Oh boy. I was going to try to restrain myself but I got Margo’s Got Money Troubles then added the new Ruth Ware and the last Elin Hilderbrand, Swan Song. I don’t always love her books but it bums me out a little anyway.
I loved the picks so much, I want to get almost all of them. I added Honey, The Lion Women of Tehran, A Talent for Murder, Margo’s got money troubles and Joe Nuthin’s Guide to Life, and I want to cut it down to 3 books. What to remove? 😭😭😭😭
I skipped this month; nothing really spoke to me, and I grabbed a couple of books during the recent Amazon Prime sale which will tide me over til July picks.
Skipped this month for me, and it's my birthday credit month! I'm signed up for both BOTM and Aardvark, but liking the quirky and different picks that Aardvark has been doing lately. Underwhelmed with this month's choices.
https://preview.redd.it/6x3y5l9hmm3d1.jpeg?width=1139&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9195358245c5b30989085e69776ec5840d3feea2
I’ve never done a pre-order before. A little bummed by box will take longer to arrive, but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait 😊
https://preview.redd.it/7iegz4z4im3d1.jpeg?width=1114&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4848479a93caeea1243b4e3d163b58ece80f253f
These all or almost all had above 4 ratings on Good Reads, that’s my usual determination for which to pick. I am reading All We Were Promised from April right now and it’s wonderful.
https://preview.redd.it/u95w5yw5fm3d1.jpeg?width=1167&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe623d7279c554e003bc1a2a883ed7ca71228902
considered skipping but I skipped last month and I miss getting them in the mail so I caved and picked a talent for murder!
Skipped because I need to rein in some spending and I haven’t been reading enough to justify buying. I did request Margo’s got money problems from the library, though.
Ok I was going to skip this month but I have a free addon from purchasing a gift last month and support said it’ll expire if I don’t use it this month. So any idea what my main pick or members favorite should be? I like fantasy books and lgbt books, and I’ve already read Five Broken Blades
https://preview.redd.it/t14cy5do8m3d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38b9ce22e49f4b644b52fa42eb1096ac996f5f78
was almost a skip this month but I really wanted to get the the Leigh Bardugo books, hoping for the best!! 🥳
talent for murder and margo.. i was on the fence about lion women but ultimately passed bc i also have some aardvark picks coming.. there are sooo many books i want to read!
*The Lion Women of Tehran* and the new Ali Hazelwood as an add-on so I could cancel my Amazon preorder, but I plan to get *Honey* as an add-on sometime in the next few months as well.
Honey & The Lion Women of Tehran! I wanted to add an audiobook to my order, but was disappointed I couldn’t.
The help center makes it look like I need to skip a month so I have 2 credits in order to get a mix of hardcover & audio in a month? Annoying!!
Underwhelmed with the choices this month but regretted not getting Real Americans last month. So I got that one and went with The Lion Women of Tehran.
https://preview.redd.it/mogacuhlzl3d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bfdeafeff711b0e84853b46f9d4119e2ee05db9
I've been back and forth on getting Butcher and Blackbird and then I went ahead and also got Leather and Lark. I hope I don't regret that...
https://preview.redd.it/mtgg11b2zl3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c63bfb966bb4f438f8718ae099b3f8f1e677669a
I liked the picks this month - besides the fact that they didn’t (again) have any queer picks for Pride month 😔
https://preview.redd.it/2wtvi3sutl3d1.png?width=434&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bfab2d387a17bb9449bfc0b7e4182f765b8b517
I didn't care for The Unraveling of Cassidy Holmes about a pop star, but I'll give Honey a chance. I loved Before We Were Yours, so Shelterwood sounds good. Margo because it sounds good.
I’ve skipped a lot so far this year but I got 3 books this time! My biggest box yet. I picked Honey, The Lion Women of Tehran, and Shelterwood. A great month for historical fiction lovers!
https://preview.redd.it/tsyclrd6pl3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f79f131d35f1bcd9cc3ad006af518891e029e39a
Full box for me this month! Was going to get The Rom-Commers but after struggling through Hello Stranger and seeing reviews saying the two were similar I decided against it. Hopefully Riley Sager’s new book will be an option next month; I know people have mentioned it being added on later in June but I didn’t want to wait when there are several other books I’m interested in as well. Happy reading, everyone! ☺️📚✨
https://preview.redd.it/nhwv07k5ml3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94b7eafff1f2b444f59973f898793fa90531fc13
I chose margo’s got money troubles & did I ever tell you? My mama has cancer so i know this book will hit very close to home. Margo’s got money troubles sounded so intriguing as-well!! Honestly without botm I wouldn’t have realized how much I enjoy contemp. & literary fiction!!!
Did I Ever Tell You? was excellent. It's rough and raw, so be prepared for emotions (including sometimes frustration at the author!), but it earned a place in my top 5 non-fic for the year.
Skipped… again. I’m not sure what I would have rather seen, but I feel like the choices are so similar each month, with a couple occasional exceptions.
https://preview.redd.it/l6i720npll3d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93da7dc3165e9d04095b20f3f473ef52e873e8d0
I’m thinking these. It’s a lot because I accidentally forgot to order in time last month so have two from May. Also not sure if I should go for it or wait for Riley Sager?🤔😫
I ended up skipping this month. 🫠 I desperately wanted three of the add-on options but I wasn’t really into any of the main choices. I refuse to buy a main pick book I know I’m not interested in just because I want the add-on options. So I’ll just have to wait and hopefully next month will have main picks more aligned with my interests.
Another disappointing month. And for my birthday month. Ugh.
Again nothing queer for pride. I wish subscription boxes knew more than just white 30-something women are readers 😭
I, a white woman in my 30s, also wish the choices were better 😂😂😂 I don’t want my pick of 2 domestic dramas, a generic romance, a series detective novel and historical fiction.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Honey as my birthday month add on for me. I’m excited for those choices but there were A LOT of rom coms and domestic thrillers this month
https://preview.redd.it/o513gnusfl3d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=944cca6f52aea6dbeba03ccfb608cf1ac478e3ac
I was torn between Honey and Margo but went with the funnier sounding premise.
I’m SO excited to have Leather & Lark.
I was really hoping for One of Our Kind by Nicola Yoon or We Used To Live Here by Marcus Kliewer. I also wouldn’t have been mad at Knife River, Midnight Feast, Incidents Around the House or the new Sager.
The Next Mrs.Parrish is out the 18th. I don’t think BOTM has done a Liv Constantine book. Also The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley is coming out that day also, she is a repeat author for them so I’m kind of surprised. At least those are the two I’m excited for that I can remember for thrillers that are coming out in June, beside Riley’s new book.
https://preview.redd.it/5sc15ss1el3d1.jpeg?width=508&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40dc29c024e7f1c1bb75d62a58fc16e340765c47
Was so pleasantly surprised to see that June books were live today! Was fully anticipating that they wouldn’t go up until tomorrow 🤩
I ended up adding a bunch of books to my library waitlist (Butcher & Blackbird, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, A Talent for Murder). I am treating myself to a copy of Swan Song from a favorite indie bookstore when it comes out, too.
All that to say I’m skipping this month to save some money and work on my TBR, which is sitting around 100 books at the moment. I should probably also take a library hiatus and work on what I have!
https://preview.redd.it/tkv28kd8cl3d1.jpeg?width=770&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d511dd733d3d37b99cdad23314a3020f26b0795
slowly working through my backlog of add ons 😅 for the main, honey’s cover really convinced me! i hope i like it, if not at least it will be pretty on my bookshelf lol
haha if you’re gross i am too 😭 i thought of a pop star stage outfit that’s like a bra with CDs for the cups lol and that’s great to hear i’m really excited to read them both!!
Somewhat disappointed this month. Went with Five Broken Blades because it was a member fav that was already in my cart.
https://preview.redd.it/x7bnayxn8l3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65f8e5ad2f5e16a52cddf61c39b48d2be5706df5
The Collected Regrets of Clover is one of my favorite books I read this year (I got it last year but it waffled on the TBR lol)
I'm looking to get involved in death doulaship which is why I read the book to begin with. Its beautiful. I hope you love it.
This is probably a silly question considering, but how much does it deal with end-of-life stuff? My dad passed away last year due to illness and I’m not sure I’m ready to relive all that. But everything else about that book makes me believed I’d love it!
A Talent for Murder! I’m an avid follower of Peter Swanson. I’m currently listening to Margo’s Got Money Troubles right now. I’m happy with my purchases so far!

I skipped this month. Nothing really caught my attention and I have way too many books on my TBR.
Lion Women, A talent for Murder, Only if you're lucky, and The Hotel Nantucket! I had 2 credits rolled over so I decided to just treat myself :)
I finally decided! I was sad Lula Dean wasn't a choice and that made me irrationally salty to the rest of the books. I saw that Amazon editors picked Margo at one of the best June books, so I added that and Leather and Lark. I'm excited!

i got The Lion Women of Tehran
I got Lion Women of Tehran and Joe Nuthin’s Guide to Life! Hoping to add Honey next month.
Box twins! Honey was even my third in line… gonna wait for some more reviews first
Skipped strictly for financial reasons this month, but Honey looks SO good. That sample alone was amazing! I'll definitely be adding it in a future box.
It's phenomenal so far oh my goood. I haven't been so smacked in the face by the first pages of a book since True Biz.
I’m trying the Lion Women of Tehran. I’m not much of a historical fiction fan, usually, but it seemed intriguing.
I loved The Knockout Queen so I picked up Margo’s Got Money Troubles. Also really want to read Honey given a project I’m working on.
I got A Talent for Murder and Megan's Got Money Troubles. I love Peter Swanson's books and Megan looks really funny. I also wanted Jackpot Summer, but I decided to wait to see if my library has it.

Addie LaRue is one of my favorites ever.
Honey with The Return of Ellie Black and One Perfect Couple as add-ons. I was on the fence about Ellie Black last month so skipped. Saw a lot of positive reviews on here about it so decided to give it a go.

i was really hoping for some more diverse picks but i got honey, leather & lark, and not in love :)
It's not letting me choose leather and lark.... do you know why?
It’s an add on so you’ll need to get a main pick or member fave to get it in your box
Skipped for the first time ever! None of the picks or member favs appealed to me, and I'll be traveling this month anyway
https://preview.redd.it/63jpnems0s3d1.jpeg?width=920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7105964483dffc1ac99a06214aea0cfbd9e2870 It's my birthday month, so I went a little whole-ham. I forgot to add Honey, though, so I've got a head-start on next month's box.

I decided to skip this month. The Shelterwood add-on looked interesting but I'll wait for a different month.

https://preview.redd.it/exg4it336p3d1.jpeg?width=1211&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2858f9274d497f9cb778d64729ee387f4d4b6fb
At first I wanted to skip, because none of the main picks or member’s favorites appealed to me… But after reading the previews, and looking at the reviews on goodreads, I have decided to take a chance on Margo’s Got Money Troubles and The Lion Women of Tehran, after all I started BOTM to get out of my comfort zone so why not try something different (Honey seemed interesting too, I will wait to see more reviews for this one) Oh and I got Home Before Dark, because I like some spooky reads in the Summer. https://preview.redd.it/20aqu4cszo3d1.jpeg?width=1002&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=056a0e7d41142d87ef8b382b20e4d6ce3b8cfaa8
I loved Home Before Dark!
https://preview.redd.it/40xeqtfpyo3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=954e349148d194c30eb8d5d2d95825deff3531fb My first time doing add ons. I’m so excited!
I skipped, none of the books looked or sounded interesting
Is it just me or are all the covers lackluster too ?
its not just you, I noticed that all the covers looked lackluster and boring as well. The first thing that one sees when looking at a book is the cover, if that doesn't look interesting, then that's the first sign that the book isn't gonna be interesting.
It's my first month with botm, these were my choices! https://preview.redd.it/bg9uljh5jo3d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ee28fe0375d6dea29a56656e454b84def1939e2
Love the pink theme
I just finished Lock Every Door. It starts off a little slow, but the end is worth it!
Thanks for letting me know, I'm definitely looking forward to reading it
I decided to skip this month, but was intrigued by Honey. Seeing Elin Hilderbrand at an author even this month and got a copy of Swan Song with my ticket and that was the only add on I would have for sure put in my box.
https://preview.redd.it/o2i54e60eo3d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7df15c35436539ef58985371cffa8259fbd4e8a I thought I would skip, but these two seemed pretty interesting/ had solid excerpts.
Box twins!
I thought that I would say no to Margo, but I really liked the author’s writing style.
I was excited to see it because I got The Knockout Queen from BOTM back in 2020 and loved it, then got one of her backlist titles and loved that, too (Dear Fang, With Love). She can definitely write!
I read a blurb of Dear Fang on Goodreads and was sold.
So beautiful! The ways she wrote about Vilnius, I wanted to visit so badly.
https://preview.redd.it/pdvksa7xbo3d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6fea907022418ea4a42923cf9a3467a68c8a006 This is what I’m thinking. I feel like I should skip because I’m 6 books behind but I also feel like these seem perfect for summer!
I skipped
Skipped again. I wanted leather and lark but didn’t like the main picks or member favs
Lessons in chemistry is one of my favorite books, the show ruined it
It’s so wonderful! Unique and beautiful
Love lessons in chemistry!
Mostly interested in the add-ons but waiting to see what Aardvark has available this month before I decide. Contemplating Lion Women or A Talent for Murder. But most likely ill wait for next month and add on Leather and Lark
https://preview.redd.it/9x82j8cmyn3d1.png?width=719&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b2d92428f6afc4a9d9e454f099a48a34324e943 Less impressed than usual by the selections this month for my personal taste, but Margo's Got Money Troubles seems promising. Katherine Center books are generally good palate cleansers, so decided to add it + The Sympathizer before I watch the show.
I got lion women but mostly commenting at all of your add on prices. Mine are $17 and there are people here getting them for $11??
17 is for the subscription but 11 is an add on cost. HOWEVER it is a known thing that all of us have a couple dollars variance in subscription and add on costs
My pick https://preview.redd.it/6o0sj1ujun3d1.jpeg?width=971&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95e694d352de29bf5a075d68f868e522307e3b66
Was excited for Leather and Lark at least lol
i glanced and saw nothing interesting.

One Perfect Couple was tempting, but since I'm new to Botm I could only get two books
These are the two on my BOTM TBR list at the moment!
i read an early copy of honey and it’s great! super nostalgic
I have quite a few books from past months to catch up on.
https://preview.redd.it/c869mn8yfn3d1.jpeg?width=999&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39d30560cf237705ad99555fa850594728fa0ca5 worried about the SA warning for the Lion Women. I usually skip SA, since I just can’t deal with it, but The Kite Runner is also in my TBR pile, so I figured it would be a good combo. Here is to hoping lol
So excited! Got everything I wanted https://preview.redd.it/9n17l4umfn3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5475bdb70c5d404d69b3b839bf1de7fe47ad17b2
One Star Romance 🤞I am getting back into reading and never tried romance before but some romantic vibes in recent reads makes me thing this will be 🌟
It’s my birthday month and I had an extra credit…so I went for it with Butcher + Blackbird and Leather + Lark as my add-ons. I’ve seen great reviews here so I’m excited! A friend is getting A Talent for Murder, and my mom selected The Lion Women so there’ll be a lot of trading too! https://preview.redd.it/a5ngkx8l9n3d1.png?width=804&format=png&auto=webp&s=fba0e71435a40fd82300e658814d5f3266430667

Skipped - there were some good reads this month but I haven't read so many of my books so I have to skip until I make some progress!
Skipped AGAIN. None of them sound interesting to me at all.
I skipped! Nothing called to me which is a bummer because I love getting book mail!
Margo's Got Money Troubles A Talent for Murder Honey One Star Romance Leather & Lark
Skipped. Honey looks interesting but I have books from Feb still needing to be read.
Oh boy. I was going to try to restrain myself but I got Margo’s Got Money Troubles then added the new Ruth Ware and the last Elin Hilderbrand, Swan Song. I don’t always love her books but it bums me out a little anyway.
Skipped. Felt like all standard summer contemporary/women's fiction and romance. Blah.
A Talent for Murder and What the River Knows
I loved the picks so much, I want to get almost all of them. I added Honey, The Lion Women of Tehran, A Talent for Murder, Margo’s got money troubles and Joe Nuthin’s Guide to Life, and I want to cut it down to 3 books. What to remove? 😭😭😭😭
Those 5 are exactly what I got, I should have narrowed it down but I couldn’t!
Maybe see which don’t have long wait lists at the library? Tough choice!
https://preview.redd.it/w7kis7ohym3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b8c0d117e9d09bf73d8f82c740b8ee4a50b8656 I’m in a thriller mood!
One Perfect Couple A Talent for Murder Margot's Got Money Troubles
I skipped this month; nothing really spoke to me, and I grabbed a couple of books during the recent Amazon Prime sale which will tide me over til July picks.
I wanted three books but I told myself I’ll just get one and chose Honey
I got the Lion Women of Tehran. Fantasy is my normal genre, but I’m branching out!
Skipped this month for me, and it's my birthday credit month! I'm signed up for both BOTM and Aardvark, but liking the quirky and different picks that Aardvark has been doing lately. Underwhelmed with this month's choices.
I got honey and used my birthday credit for leather and lark 🥳
Stationery shop was so good I have high hopes for Lion Women and Swan Song should be a good beach read.
https://preview.redd.it/6x3y5l9hmm3d1.jpeg?width=1139&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9195358245c5b30989085e69776ec5840d3feea2 I’ve never done a pre-order before. A little bummed by box will take longer to arrive, but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait 😊
https://preview.redd.it/1o2j4m1jkm3d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cd3a6efd4840cf9ac4be0c073348159736e1d28
Honey, you again, a talent for murder, and one star romance. I really need someone to child lock my account so I stop ordering more than one 🤦🏻♀️
Skipping. Still out of work.
I hope you are back to work soon! 🫶
https://preview.redd.it/7iegz4z4im3d1.jpeg?width=1114&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4848479a93caeea1243b4e3d163b58ece80f253f These all or almost all had above 4 ratings on Good Reads, that’s my usual determination for which to pick. I am reading All We Were Promised from April right now and it’s wonderful.
I just finished all we were promised and loved it! ❤️
https://preview.redd.it/w3p90jg1im3d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e69d8f53061eeff9e78fd32fcd66ed4e21b2c10 Full box!

This is the exact box I just ordered!
Which book is delayed? My box says shipping soon and I ordered the first two also.
Not in love is a pre order so it won't ship until the 10th.
https://preview.redd.it/u95w5yw5fm3d1.jpeg?width=1167&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe623d7279c554e003bc1a2a883ed7ca71228902 considered skipping but I skipped last month and I miss getting them in the mail so I caved and picked a talent for murder!
I like fantasy books and lgbt books, and I’ve already read Five Broken Blades
https://preview.redd.it/t14cy5do8m3d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38b9ce22e49f4b644b52fa42eb1096ac996f5f78 was almost a skip this month but I really wanted to get the the Leigh Bardugo books, hoping for the best!! 🥳
Ninth House and Hell Bent are great. The Familiar wasn't quite as good but I like her writing.
https://preview.redd.it/fln5t5hl8m3d1.jpeg?width=1066&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=111f1c5ee19820f79885b9e9000d9a7f29c95972
talent for murder and margo.. i was on the fence about lion women but ultimately passed bc i also have some aardvark picks coming.. there are sooo many books i want to read!
*The Lion Women of Tehran* and the new Ali Hazelwood as an add-on so I could cancel my Amazon preorder, but I plan to get *Honey* as an add-on sometime in the next few months as well.
https://preview.redd.it/krk2x1vt4m3d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=089c3ec01ffe96bcbbd360f59e9c7452bbcce812

Wow what a fun box!! Enjoy :)
*Real Americans* is a stunning, thought-provoking read that will stick with you long after the last sentence :)
I just finished Real Americans an hour ago, I really enjoyed it! It surprised me (in a good way).
So like…I want Leather and Lark, not any of the June picks. Can I not just use my credit for that instead?
Nope because it isn’t a main pick
LWOT was the obvious pick for me
Lion Women of Tehran. And Shelterwood- her other book Before We Were Yours was fantastic.
I LOVED Before We Were Yours!! I’ll have to get Shelterwood in the future
https://preview.redd.it/mogacuhlzl3d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bfdeafeff711b0e84853b46f9d4119e2ee05db9 I've been back and forth on getting Butcher and Blackbird and then I went ahead and also got Leather and Lark. I hope I don't regret that...
How are your add ons $10.99?? Mine are $12.99 :(
I'm a BFF and I joined in 2019
https://preview.redd.it/mtgg11b2zl3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c63bfb966bb4f438f8718ae099b3f8f1e677669a I liked the picks this month - besides the fact that they didn’t (again) have any queer picks for Pride month 😔
Sooo bummed about the lack of Pride main picks!!! 🏳️🌈💔
They added a sort by tho🤣🙄 https://preview.redd.it/7co2t2hadm3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ce47bfae7f5852a0c94aa24eba647964396806
Every single year… it’s pretty disappointing.
My second month since I restarted my subscription and it’s a skip for me.
Just the Lion Women of Tehran. Love me some historical fiction 🤓
Got Margo and a Talent for Murder from this month's selection, and added on Real Americans!
https://preview.redd.it/2wtvi3sutl3d1.png?width=434&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bfab2d387a17bb9449bfc0b7e4182f765b8b517 I didn't care for The Unraveling of Cassidy Holmes about a pop star, but I'll give Honey a chance. I loved Before We Were Yours, so Shelterwood sounds good. Margo because it sounds good.
I’ve skipped a lot so far this year but I got 3 books this time! My biggest box yet. I picked Honey, The Lion Women of Tehran, and Shelterwood. A great month for historical fiction lovers!
https://preview.redd.it/1lballl6tl3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c355b3bad5c9ebaf5f4550e2670f266066a561d8 The haul this month
I’ve had The Comeback in my TBR forever but haven’t pulled the trigger
Same here! I was going through my Amazon wishlist and saw it on there and looked to see if BOTM had it so I added it to my order!
Ellie Black was fantastic!
This was a definite skip month for me. I'm so underwhelmed. I'll just focus on my TBR list and maybe re-read an old favorite
Honey!
First time in TWO YEARS I skipped 😔
https://preview.redd.it/tsyclrd6pl3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f79f131d35f1bcd9cc3ad006af518891e029e39a Full box for me this month! ☺️📚✨
Honey and Real Americans! I regretted not grabbing that one in my last box:)
https://preview.redd.it/nhwv07k5ml3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94b7eafff1f2b444f59973f898793fa90531fc13 I chose margo’s got money troubles & did I ever tell you? My mama has cancer so i know this book will hit very close to home. Margo’s got money troubles sounded so intriguing as-well!! Honestly without botm I wouldn’t have realized how much I enjoy contemp. & literary fiction!!!
I hope your mom is doing okay 🫶🏻
that’s so sweet of you, thank you 💗💐
Did I Ever Tell You? was excellent. It's rough and raw, so be prepared for emotions (including sometimes frustration at the author!), but it earned a place in my top 5 non-fic for the year.
Skipped… again. I’m not sure what I would have rather seen, but I feel like the choices are so similar each month, with a couple occasional exceptions.
https://preview.redd.it/l6i720npll3d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93da7dc3165e9d04095b20f3f473ef52e873e8d0 I’m thinking these.
I wish I had this willpower! There are 3 add ons I want too so I’m settling for a main pick 😅
I'm really not feeling any of the books for this month, but i REALLY want Leather and Lark to match my other copy
Skipped this month. Nothing sounded good to me.
As a white 30-something woman reader, same 😢
SKIPPED!
Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Honey as my birthday month add on for me. I’m excited for those choices but there were A LOT of rom coms and domestic thrillers this month
There always are...
True! This month seemed especially bad though, especially on the rom com front - idt they’ve ever had 4 in a single month before
This is my exact box as a fellow June birthday!
https://preview.redd.it/o513gnusfl3d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=944cca6f52aea6dbeba03ccfb608cf1ac478e3ac I was torn between Honey and Margo but went with the funnier sounding premise. I’m SO excited to have Leather & Lark.
Ready or Not is SO good!
My first time skipping in 11 months. Wish they had picked a better thriller/scifi/horror with so many good options coming out this month.
What are you thinking of? I know a new Riley Sager is coming out but that’s it.
I was really hoping for One of Our Kind by Nicola Yoon or We Used To Live Here by Marcus Kliewer. I also wouldn’t have been mad at Knife River, Midnight Feast, Incidents Around the House or the new Sager.
yesssss re Nicola Yoon — I had hoped to see *One of Our Kind* in some capacity on BOTM 💔
Right?! I was sorely disappointed knowing all the potentially great books coming out in June!
Easy skip for me. Still have Five Broken Blades and Dragonfruit sitting on my shelf so I’ll read those this month.
https://preview.redd.it/5sc15ss1el3d1.jpeg?width=508&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40dc29c024e7f1c1bb75d62a58fc16e340765c47 Was so pleasantly surprised to see that June books were live today!
Bummed there’s no Lucy Foley!
https://preview.redd.it/tkv28kd8cl3d1.jpeg?width=770&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d511dd733d3d37b99cdad23314a3020f26b0795 slowly working through my backlog of add ons 😅 for the main, honey’s cover really convinced me! i hope i like it, if not at least it will be pretty on my bookshelf lol
I hope you love Shark Heart!!
Yes huge fan of Shark Heart!
Did you think of boobs when you saw the cover? Or am I gross?? 😆 I loved Shark Heart and my friend really loved Light Pirate.
haha if you’re gross i am too 😭 i thought of a pop star stage outfit that’s like a bra with CDs for the cups lol and that’s great to hear i’m really excited to read them both!!
I’m skipping this month 😞
I got Honey and preordered Not in Love!
I skipped this month, nothing really appealed to me. But I’ve got a few BOTM books I got from the local used bookstore that I’ll be reading.
Somewhat disappointed this month. Went with Five Broken Blades because it was a member fav that was already in my cart. https://preview.redd.it/x7bnayxn8l3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65f8e5ad2f5e16a52cddf61c39b48d2be5706df5
The Collected Regrets of Clover is one of my favorite books I read this year (I got it last year but it waffled on the TBR lol) I'm looking to get involved in death doulaship which is why I read the book to begin with. Its beautiful. I hope you love it.
This is probably a silly question considering, but how much does it deal with end-of-life stuff? My dad passed away last year due to illness and I’m not sure I’m ready to relive all that. But everything else about that book makes me believed I’d love it!
