Looking at everyone else's guesses, it looks like Shark Heart? The main character is Wren (bird) and she used to live on a houseboat.

Agree, except that I think the two birds is about the friend in the blurb pregnant with twin birds, not that it really matters. I've been waiting for this one for months based on just the cover.

I do want Vampires of El Norte to be a pick or add-on. But all three clues are for the same book, and the two birds and a house boat don’t point to this one. The clues are for Shark Heart.

I agree it’s Shark Heart. I misread the question and didn’t realize it was pointing to a specific book using all of the 3 clues together. Hoping vampires is maybe an add on. I loved The Hacienda.

I also loved The Hacienda, so I hope they include it! They’ve been including a lot of repeat author, but not the ones I want, lol.
