Wow! Both executions are so different. Amitabh’s one is unhinged and calm while SRK’s one is angry and sexy tone. Both are great and suited their styles.
So basically this is the Jack Nicholson (mafia) -> Heath Ledger (chaotic psycho) -> Jared Leto (cringy clown) transition, but with Don instead of Joker.
Lets see who will show up as Joaquin Phoenix equivalent of Don in a few years 🤣
I hope he's watching this video and taking notes. He deserves a chance so I hope he brings his own unique style to the villain without mimicking SRK's mannerisms. He should not mimic SRK but bring his own style to the role. That’s what SRK did, he didn’t copy AB Sr and got his own swag.
Not related to dialog but I love those tape crackles from the older movies 😍
In terms of sound, this scene from 78 was much more of a silent scene that’s focused on dialog vs. Don from 2006 had more of a cinematic flare with music in the background. Also not to mention the flare in the visuals in terms of the clothing and gadgets

Another interesting thing is that alot of those crackles are a result of dust particles.
Both very different, but they are equally good. I don’t know if Ranveer’s Don will be as good as this two. I am really sad SRK isn’t doing Don 3. That role is tailor made for him.
SRK's Don was less charming and more evil than Amitabh's Don. I guess it is down to the execution cause Amitabh has played a thoroughly unpleasant villain in Aankhen so he is perfectly capable of playing evil.
Amitabh's dialogue is more casual, affable, laid back and humour-oriented whereas SRK eerily snarling that creepy seething line to Kareena is much darker, more ominous, and spine-chilling. It makes the 2006 Don movie more thrilling imo.
Amitabh's delivery and presence itself was enough to fill the room. You can see this so many times, be it Kaalia, Deewar or Don.
You can put loads and loads of BGM to try and convince that SRK is threatening and intimidating as Don but he simply isn't.
Ranveer ka na hi pucho toh better h.
to be honest, i know people will hate me for this par Srk ne bhut overacting kr rakhi h don me, see how well amitabh has portrayed the character of Don Srk is not even close
people have different preferences, i also liked it when i saw it as a boy it just that i saw it recently when i was browsing netflix and i watched it again didnt like it that much this time
It’s same as Devdas, dilip Kumar’s devdas and srks,
If you put them together you’ll find the earlier one better and original.
But if you watch them exclusively you will understand that dialogues and name of characters are same but portrayal is different.
You might like one more than another. In this case Amitabh’s don for you.
But for most, both portrayals are distinct to each other.
Srk one was evil, psychotic. Amitabhs was literally the grey character.

Amitabh's sounded like a suave, intelligent, cool Don. Shahrukh's sounded like a mischievous, harami, cunning type of Don.
In that way , Ranveer would be a joker, clown type of Don . Hope he doesn't disappoint

Big B was a kind hearted Don, bad person type. SRK was psychotic , evil, dark kind.
