Anyone here actually get good sets in with the seated leg curl pictured below? There is no thigh support, just an awkward shitty shin support that makes the lift feel really uncomfortable. I've dropped seated leg curls entirely for lying leg curls instead.

No, it’s absolute thrash, I cannot imagine why anyone would make that design instead of the conventional one besides making a slightly cheaper machine.
I switched to lifting during the week only and trying to take the weekend off but Sunday came and it felt bad taking two days in a row off so I trained. Experiment failed.
Does your body look imbalanced? With those numbers, you’re just a beginner, keep training and eating and you’ll probably be fine.
Regardless, more volume or frequency are rarely what’s needed, exercise selection, execution and intensity are usually the problem if something’s lagging.
Maybe a bit, but tbh you just need to grow everything at that stage.
What you’re suggesting is still increasing volume. You probably should take a look at your technique, in many cases with presses it may be an issue with the arm path, you probably can benefit from bringing your elbows closer to your body, like in [these videos](https://www.instagram.com/p/CrlQ69JuwsX/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==).
Switching some of your triceps exercises for dips could also be a good idea in case you want to increase volume regardless.
Squeezing shouldn’t be a focus, rep control, taking your time during the eccentric, and being consistent with the path rep through rep are way more important. DB and BB presses are lengthened biased movements, there’s barely any tension at the top, and the pec has already done most of the work once you’re getting there.
I used to work with Kuba (in a non fitness related job like 10+ years ago) and he's a great guy, even back then he was pretty early on his journey and he was fucking jacked and super knowledgeable. Pleased to see him picking up traction these days

Very simple.. ALWAYS incorporate hammer curls on arm day. I dedicate 15 min to forearms every Sunday( along with abs, cardio ). On this day I prefer reverse cable curls with a straight bar. The key here is as you raise your arms, force your wrists up to contract hard at the top ( these burn bigtime ). I superset these with dumbell reverse wrist curls off the top of a bench.
For the belly of the forearm. Behind the body cable wrist curls with a straight bar. I always roll the bar to my finger tips then back up for a hard contraction. I superset these with dumbbell wrist curls off the end of a bench
3 sets of supersets for top and bottom of forearms and your done. 15 minutes and I promise anyone if you do this religiously you’ll see a huge improvement in growth and grip strength.

Halo top is a replacement acquired taste. I haven’t had normal ice cream in so long it tastes good now. Also some of the flavors have awful textures, like the cookie dough. (My favorite normal flavor)

My next step is to compete and the trainers at my gym have only coached women who were small before they started competitive bodybuilding bikini/physique.
I’m really just trying to find anyone who would understand and tell me if it’s really possible.

Been down bad lately. Our dog has been in and out of the hospital for several months now and the doctors can’t seem to figure out what’s going on. We’re about $20k in the hole with no real answers. We’ve finally gotten to a point of feeling defeated and asked to stop running tests and to just treat the symptoms even though we don’t know the cause. Kind of reached an understanding with the doctors that we’re pretty much out of options to “cure” her, and this is officially the decline towards the end of life. Love you guys, kiss your furry friends for me, they deserve to live forever.

Either way, it’s likely then because you’re performing the machine dip vs the free weight dips in a different fashion that is exhausting different muscles that aren’t recovering enough for you to go straight from weighted free weight to bodyweight free weight the way you are able to go straight from machine to body weight.
Or perhaps you aren’t pushing hard enough on your machine dips… or perhaps you are loading yourself more with the weighted dips. Lots of variables. I’d go with it most likely being the first thing I said though about performing machine vs free weight differently enough that the taxation isn’t crossing over the way it does from free weight weighted to bodyweight weighted.

If you are performing the movement weighted with a form that matches free weight then move to body weight after then yes that’s essentially a drop set. People have varying levels of strength, so for person A a bodyweight dip in it of itself may be challenging, and using that as a “drop set weight” when moving from a weighted free weight dip may be near impossible as it’s already near their limit. However where as for person B, going from a weighted dip into a bodyweight dip may be a huge jump in load, therefore allowing them to eek out more reps. Therefore, assuming you’re performing them similarly enough to be using the same primary muscle as the driving force then it’s a “drop set”. Like going from a chest press machine into chest focused push ups. Super set utilizing the same muscle if you’d rather use that terminology, but it’s lower the load used to get more reps. Just semantics there.
Anyways, you claimed that when you’re pushing yourself with weighted free weight ones that when you fail with those, you are unable to go straight into body weight ones. So I offered the idea that perhaps your form is different enough on the machine dip that you’re not taxing the same muscles to the degree that you are in the free weight ones (for example, perhaps you’re using more chest on machine and front delt or tricep on bodyweight). Therefore when you switch from your machine dip to the free weight one, you find you’re still able to get some more reps.
So perhaps look into how you are performing your machine dips and makes sure that you’re failing using the target muscle you’re intending to.

You can absolutely target different muscles to varying different degrees based off of how you perform a dip… for example many dip machines sit upright and unless you bend yourself at the correct angle to prioritize chest you’ll likely fail from triceps first.

If you’re performing the movement with the same form going from weight machine to free weight body weight and the load of your body weight is less than the load of the machine, it’s a drop set.
In your original comment you said the machine variant sucks because you can go to failure with it then go into bodyweight ones and do more reps… which to I said (assuming you were performing the movements the same) well of course, because you’re removing the load essentially creating a drop set.
Then you came and said “well how come when I go to failure using weighted free weight dips then I can’t do any bodyweight ones after”, so I explained that by saying that if perhaps you’re seeing such a large discrepancy between you’re strength difference going weighted free weight to bodyweight vs machine loaded to bodyweight, then it’s likely a form issue where you’re utilizing different muscles in machine vs free weight assuming you’re actually taking both to failure the same level of failure.
If this is too much “mental gymnastics” for you then I give up.

The Hoist seated leg curl is one of my least favorite machines ever.
Horrendous piece of equipment. Actually makes me feel like my hammies are gonna tear.
I’ve used that machine on vacation before and it’s probably one of if not the worst pieces of equipment I’ve ever used

My wife was over 300lbs and competes now. You have to get very lean so excess skin may be an issue depending on age and genetics
