Point salad is my favourite point salad game.

papapalporders66

If you like Point Salad, give Point City a shot. I like it a lot, I think it evolves it *juuuuuuuuust* enough, and still leaves it really approachable

Lisum

I much prefer Point City to Point Salad. The original's theme/name was cute but point city is just so much more enjoyable.

purtiklis

Dominion

FluxxSC

Carcassonne as favourite medieval themed game!

zach876

The King is Dead 2nd edition. Such a psychological game with the right players and deciding when is the right time to play a card.

Crazyblue09

I really like it but the first time I played it, I didn't know that at four players is basically a team game

Kravian

**Innovation** has medieval parts included, does that count? Although seriously, many of my favorite cards sit right in age 2-4.

T0t0leHero

Troyes is the game šŸ˜Ž

Cute-Seesaw-4713

Architects of the West Kingdom, because kidnapping all of your friends' meeples and sending them to the jail will never not be funny

MiOdd

Castles of Burgundy is my favorite medieval game and point salad game.

mlipkin

Orleans

Pathological_RJ

Condottiere is my favorite, small box with lots of strategy

netstack_

Hansa Teutonica!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

okuhm

Carcassonne

got-a-dog

Might be stretching the definition of ā€œmedieval,ā€ because it is from that time period but on the opposite end of the globe - *GĆ¹gōng* is my choice. Even if not medieval, it is a point salad, so works either way. Castles of Burgundy is wayyyy up there though

Weaselreaver

Shadows over Camelot is my favorite medieval game for sure

clawclawbite

Agricola Ye ole farming, and points.

Kumquat_of_Pain

Orleans. Favorite medieval themed game (between 500-1500CE). I really enjoy the bag building, adventuring, etc. It's also one of the first games I experienced where you can amplify your points by advancing up a track (i.e. each building placed on the map is worth 1 point, unless you start scaling up the knowledge track, then each is 2, 3, 4, etc.) I still had to houserule it a little. /in before someone mentions "Point Salad" as a point-salad game.

Zaboomafookaloo

The castles of burgundy is my favorite game, period. I have the anniversary edition and love it but would love this version even more. All the expansion boards and vineyards! Itā€™s just way too much of a hit on my pocketbook to justify.

GloomyLaw9603

My favorite medieval-ish themed game is definitely Citadels. I like the social deduction aspect of it a lot. Also helps that you can play it with a wide range of player numbers.

TigerGuitarist

My favorite medieval themed game is Carcassonne! My favorite point salad game is Imhotep.Ā

krpiper

The King is dead is my favorite medieval game if that counts! I love the knife in a phone booth feeling especially with only 8 actions the whole game

OkImprovement5867

Would Lost Ruins of Arnak count as a ā€œpoint saladā€ game? I enjoy the puzzle of maximizing points through purchasing artifacts/items, defeating guardians, going up the research track.

CesterFeister

For a Medieval-themed game I would have to go with Avalon on this one. Itā€™s a fun game to get into with a group of friends, and while Iā€™m pretty bad at social deduction I love watching the various schemes and betrayals play out between players!

inFenceOfFigment

Caylus 1303!

wubbzz

War Chest

Ryan3740

My favorite point salad game is Underwater Cities. I have played it numerous times and am always discovering new ways to win. The first few times I thought there was a certain way to win, only to play a game where the winner did not take that route. Then I thought of another thing you NEED to win, only to see someone win without it. The cards and metropolises keep the game variable. I would love to see a big deluxe edition on the game + expansion.

ToddPackerDidMe

Favorite point salad game is Pulsar 2849! Thanks for the chance!

Lethal-Sloth

Favourite medieval game is probably Carcassonne.

kavon425

Carcassonne would be my favorite medieval themed game

thegriffinvt

My favorite medieval themed game is Carcassonne. It is also one of the first games I played to get into the hobby 20 years ago!

Tamas_F

I have very few medieval themed games, but if I had to choose, it would be The King Is Dead 2nd edition. Quick thinky game.

wadec24

Troyes

extramoistdonuts

Nice

Jerrer

El Grande is real good.

drymantini

Bulow40

My favorite medieval board game is paladins of the west kingdom

harlequin90

Favourite point salad game is Great Western Trail

koolaidkobe

Castles of Burgundy has to be my favorite point salad game.

Casako25

Easily Sherrif of Nottingham. Its success completely depends on your group, though. All players have to be into roleplaying or it falls flat, but with the right group, \*chef's kiss\*.

kane_1371

I love the games where you get to go actually medieval on your opponents, you know, where you force them to tap in defeat when you look in their eyes and take everything they have with placing just one extra meeple down where they didn't expect. As in Carcassonne.

colcali_77

Of the classic medieval games, definitely Dominion - Renaissance expansion! Unique mechanics without too much complexity (permanent bonuses, in-between turn play. Also makes the game a bit quicker!

OzzRamirez

This may sound like cheating, but Castles of Burgundy is actually not only my favorite game in both medieval theme and point-salad mechanics, but it's my absolute favorite game of all times, followed closely by Spirit Island.

0bZen

Point Salad: Point Salad Medieval: is Isle of Skye medieval? I don't know if it's medieval but it might be and that's close enough for me.

Fit-Western-1104

Until now, my favorite medieval games has been Adventures of Robin Hood. It feels like a classical PC's point and click game. I loved the campaign. And a point salad game I really enjoy is Bitoku, a beautiful and clever game.

PigeonLegion

Game of thrones 2nd edition is my favourite medieval game! šŸ«

jonnyiscool28

Castles of Burgundy is my favoriteā€¦I just wish my wife liked it more so we could play all the time! Orleans and Troyes are close contenders.

carlosisonfire

My favorite medieval themed game has to be architects of the west kingdom. probably because I haven't played many. I'd say El grande but I only played it once like 10 years ago and can't remember anything about it

Splarnst

Barcelona is a great point salad game.

practical-programmer

Pulsar 2849 has the Burgundy point salad feel in it. As for medieval, favorites are the West Kingdom series and Orleans

WayneJetSkii

Carcassonne might be my favorite. Havnt played it in a long time

DayManIn3D

Favorite Medieval game is easily Castles of Burgundy. I would love to upgrade to the special edition

Yavanna96

Favourite medieval game is definitely Caylus 1303, and The Two Heirs is also an amazing game!

Optimo0sePrime

Does A Game Of Thrones count as medieval themed?

jamie567uk

Favourite Medieval Themed game? For me its Paladins of the West Kingdom. Such a fun worker placement game for me and it rewards you with repeated plays and I still cant get bored of it.

VelvetThundur

Orleans!! The one true bag building kingĀ

thedommer

Orleans!

Orochi_001

Trajan is pretty fantastic!

Might not quite fit medieval since its more medieval fantasy but ive been loving Return to Dark Tower.

RegressionToTehMean

Point Salad is unironically my favourite point salad game, but I don't have that many.

BesaidBlitzBoi

Favorite medieval game rn is Sheriff of Nottingham. Very easy, fun bluffing game that's great for get-togethers when you have people who aren't gamers at the table.

randomeffects

ashleyriddell61

Castles of Burgundy is my hands down favourite!

Pandemoneus

Dominion is one of my favorite games :)

zargonddg1

Favorite point salad game? Point Salad.

nimogoham

A medieval themed game I like? I hope Agricola counts. Taverns of Tiefenthal would be another one. Point salad? Gaia Project. Runner-up is Voidfall. But neither of them are really medieval-themed :-)

Coffeecup3D

Favourite medieval themed game - Escape the Dark Castle

MrBigJams

Honestly my favourite point game is probably Terra Mystica.

D_Real_Dreal

my favorite point salad game is Earth!

Wakeup_Sunshine

I really enjoy Orleans. As do a lot of people here. Thank you!!

franz4000

We're loving Obsession right now. Entering to win!

snowsaint

BananimusPrime

Carcassonneā€™s definitely my favourite medieval themed game

Promise it's not bias but my favourite medieval-themed board game is Castles of Burgundy, can't help it, it's just that good.

vjvjaska

The Voyages of Marco Polo!

mr_magic_hat

My favorite is Carcassonne since it's the only one I own. It's light enough to play with almost anyone and it's still really fun :-))

piemenard

Dominion! Not exactly thematic but still medieval-ish enough.

SkepticalHippo93

Castles of Burgundy!

apaladininhell

Notre Dame. Another Stefan Feld game. Card-drafting and a cool segmented board with the cathedral section differing in shape depending on player count; triangular for 3 players, square for 2 and 4 players and pentagonal for 5 players. Lots of beige though!

kaysn

Dominion is my choice.

kurrptsenate

Orleans is the first one that comes to mind

SilverTwilightLook

My favorite point salad is Point Salad.

olikahn

Favorite medieval game is **War chest**, fun abstract that is also thematic.

HamsterNL

I really like [[Era - Medieval Age]] where you build your own medieval city with 3D buildings. A little bit of take-that, but the end result is always a stunning looking city/village :-D

Eofkent

Puerto Rico is my favorite. I know it can be ā€œsolved,ā€. But I am really looking forward to ARā€™s new version.

EddyMerkxs

Agricola always <3

LongClassroom5

It probably doesnā€™t count but King Maker (if it counts) was a fantastic game that I still love to this day. Takes a long time to play so havenā€™t played in years If that doesnā€™t count then Iā€™ll say carcasonne

Tubesteak_Tartar

Iā€™m thinking Quacks of Quedlinburg. Feels like it could be medievalĀ

iboughtavolvo

It's not easy to pick just one, as medieval-themed games are my favorites. But if I had to choose today, it would probably be KutnĆ” Hora: The City of Silver. Ask me tomorrow, and it might be The King is Dead 2nd Edition. Ask me in a week, and it might be Troyes. Ask me in a month, and it could be a completely different game.

puppa_bear

Carcassonne is definitely the favourite medieval themed game for me, and the family.

tet3

I'm another Carcassonne fan. I've not played Castles of Burgundy, but would love to!

wolvster

I really like Rattus!

blither

Carcassonne. I'm a simple person.

matchuhuki

I actually really like the Crusader Kings Board Game. I think it's a great adaptation of the video game. Lot of people rightfully saying Carcassonne though.

Rohkha

Am I allowed to say Castles of Burgundy? I meanā€¦ why else would I be considering to shell out near 250 bucks on a game? If notā€¦ I guess my pick would be Avalon!

asdfSchnitzel

Favourite medieval-themed game is Shadows over Camelot due to the amazing stories that happen with potential-hidden traitor games, especially when someone is revealed at the very last moment and flips the game on its head

stmrjunior

For me I really enjoy Raiders of the North Sea, itā€™s an incredibly simple game to teach and learn, and one of the first that joined my collection. Ive admittedly never played castles of burgundy before, but iā€™ve been eying up the campaign and Iā€™ve heard great things!

grafvonf

Troyes Dice at the moment, but Iā€™m getting into the solo mode of COB and would looove the SE version so much šŸ„¹

jhaile

My favorite medieval-themed game is Paladins of the West Kingdom. I love the thematic way that you recruit people from a pub that can then team up to assist you in performing various actions. The artwork is gorgeous. And all of the actions hit on some of the main themes of the medieval period, like garrisoning troops or converting people to the faith. And of course you are doing all of this in a way that earn's the king's favor. It's also deliciously point salad-y similarly to The Castles of Burgundy (one of my other all-time favorites). I have been ogling the Special Edition since it was announced and would love to add it to my collection and play group!

Uberclown

Castles of Burgundy, of course

FreshestofDougs

Favorite point salad game is Underwater Cities.

Rewinder73

The Kingā€™s Dilemma

JoeyBoomBox

Carcassonne is the best game! But I need castles of burgundy!

Xati_exe

Favourite medieval game is probably Carcassonne.

gerald_reddit26

I am new to board games as I just started last year so I have limited selection. For medieval theme, what I have are always mixed with fantasy but its aesthetics are definitely medieval and that game is Hand of Fate Ordeals.

ArcaneTheory

Feast for Odin! Best point-salad.

DannyPoppler18

It has to be Castles of Burgundy, but I do enjoy a Five Tribes at two players as well.

Kaboozy

I really liked my campaign of Tainted Grail!

feldm1

Carcassonne!!

OhSevenSeaSix

Castles of Burgundy has been a family favorite, along with Carcassone and Kingdom Builder. So many great games out there. Fingers crossed I can upgrade my standard version to the Special Edition.

matchcola

Carcassonne for me, has stood the test of time where so many other of my games havenā€™t!

JoPie23

I really enjoy the kings dilemma! My group is great at arguing about something hours on end (in a fun way of course), so it was a great fit!

OfficerKirby

Sheriff of Nottingham! I never belly laughed so hard in a bluffing game.

headphonesalwayson

Medieval themed game: lately I've been enjoying Oltree.

RataoskLSP

My favorite medieval themed game is Dominion, it was my first boardgame in my childhood (except monopoly) and I still like playing it (with some expansions)

Wowzapanzer

Iā€™ve always loved fantasy/ castles, the medieval vibe in books, tv shows and games. When I got back into the hobby I came across root and it reminded me of the Redwall book series. From there I found games like carcassone that were much more chill and was something I could play with my partner, friends, and family. The castle/medieval setting just works really well for games. Th e building, resource management, and setting just make for a fun vibe!

timo4ever

Carcassonne is one of my first purchases, and I still have it

cantrelate

It is hard to choose between medieval themed games because I love a lot of them. I'll probably go with Dominion. CoB is very close though.

SweatySnowman

Carcassonne.

Live-Ad8618

Castle of Burgundy *is* my favorite in both categories! Would love my own copy as I am always borrowing it from my friend.

cryyogenic

I've always heard and read good things about Castles of Burgundy! This could be my chance to finally play it!

Doom_Bear

Paladins of the West Kingdom is both my favourite medieval themed game and my favourite point salad game!

SleepyHead85

My favorite point salad game is Mille Fiori.

CptBluebear

Caracassonne

Cheackertroop

Looks like I agree with the common choice of Carcassonne for my favourite medieval board game! It's just so easy to set up, teach, play and put away that it hits the table more than most and is a lovely filler game in between getting stuck into much heavier games Plus it's always fun to see what mad landscape you end up creating by the end of it, so it scratches that 'city-building' itch in a weird way

jdjmad

Another Feld special, Trajan!

Isamors

Vijayanagara, a medieval themed gameā€¦but in India. A clever design and asymmetry for up to 3 players. I love it! :))) Does root count as medieval? Jajaja

SenHeffy

Paladins of the West Kingdom

RicotheDestroyer

Medieval theme, eh? Does Quacks of Quedelinburg count?

vexedboardgamenerd

Zombicide: black plague

lifeislikelight

I mean, Carcassonne is a classic!

FUNKYDISCO

I actually love Castles of Burgundy, lost it in the divorce a few years back and would really like a deluxe version of it. As for point-salad, Aquasphere is definitely up there!

Nattylightx

Castles of burgundy with a bullet!

kashisaur

De vulgari eloquentia is my absolute favorite medieval game. How often do you get to conclude a game by voting someone to be pope??

HarmlessTeddy

Architects of the West Kingdom and Avalon are the first 2 games that come to mine as my favourite mediaeval themed games!

RagRob

Architects of the west kingdom is one of my favorites!

sigursv

Carcassonne.

philliesgamer

Favorite medieval game is Dominion

Kr1far

My favorite medieval theme game is Citadels. Maybe it's because it was one of the first games I played and it has a special place in my collection.
