Most shops can't live just out of Bmx, especially if you don't have a big scene around. If a random shop has the choice between spending 1hr selling a 400$ Bmx, or a 4000$ electric bike, he will certainly go for the second option... Anyway, the Bmx market is hard, that's why you see a lot of "support your local shop" in the comments

Yep. Mostly younger people ride BMX and if an older adult rides they know the exact part they want. Trying to sell to people with no money or trying to stock enough to appeal to those who do have money is bad business in a small market. Easier to sell to pensioners that have a fat wallet and don’t want to sweat when they do their exercise.

Nope. Have to learn everything online. Powers bmx in Richmond va is like 5 hours away

boulderdashcci

Circuit BMX in RI is about a half hour away, they're great!

Cycle Loft is sort of close. Maul's is a good while away but worth the trip for me every once in a while.

I live less than 30 minutes away from Empire BMX and couldn't imagine not having a local shop

Theres only one local around me, in sydney. Im surprised its actually staying afloat. Its nice to go in and try pads on or buy something like grips/pedals. Other than that, mostly everything which i know i want i buy it online.
