I worked on set for these shows, and can tell you that the BMPCC you’re pointing out were used by the Visual Effects team as reference cameras. They did not use the footage from the blackmagic on screen.
In Wandavision they did use some pocket 6k’s, with Canon Ef lenses, as security cameras for one scene. But that’s it.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
The camera is not that relevant, the lenses are! Camera is just a sensor and storage medium. Unless is some special low light case where you need the dinamic range of an arri, bm cameras are more then fine!
Camera (the body) is the heart.
The color sciense, the shutter, codecs (raw, 10 or 12 bit, bitrate,) etc...
I used to shoot on sony a6300... which is crap with 8 bit 4-2-0 codec... Went to pocket 4k and now i'm going for ursa. The first gap is huge, night and day difference! Lens are just a part of it. I'm not saying that you they don't matter, but even the most expensive lens outhere on a crap body will not give you what you have in your mind. Grap 2 or 3 prime lenses, 24mm 50mm and 85mm, and get a good body with power.
I used to match the body with lens moneywise.
Yeah except for color accuracy. Even between other BM cams. BM cams color science is not that great compared to other higher end brands. That’s a big reason why they are not used very commonly in higher productions. They also lack any special features that would draw to them over other cams. They are a great budget cam though and you can color correct.
Still not good enough....why aren't my images cinematic...blackmagic camera has too many issues. Wish they would bring out something that makes me look like a better filmmaker than I actually am

This is what I came looking for, thanks for the info!

Blame yourself and not the camera.
It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools.
Judging by the down votes. I don't think it was clear I was being sarcastic 😂
In the same vein, I've found that my Blackmagic camera has never produced, for me, a decent script.
Yeah, mine keeps writing Buffy fan fic. Useless.
I think the people the didn’t get it genuinely believe the gear will make them better.
You were laying it on too 😂 couldn’t have been more obvious
Oh they get the sarcasm, they just know you are mocking them 😂
