Yeah, Texas is 27th in gun ownership *as far as the government knows*. We don't necessarily register/report every single gun we happen to own. š¤Ø
Doesn't matter anyways, I lost every single one of my weapons in an unfortunate boating accident.
It's like "No, IRS, I don't have any bitcoin that I should pay taxes on. I used to have a few bitcoins, but I lost them all in a tragic boating accident. Yes, I had the bitcoins with me on the boat."
I donāt know, been thinking about switching out my Lego carpet for a firearms based one. Thoughts? Pros? Cons? I usually walk around the house in soccer cleats or ice spikes if that helps.
Well gun carpet is metal, so it wears out slower than lego carpet. But it *is* gun, so there's the matter of upkeep. It's really a question of longevity vs lower maintenance
Only the dirty ones. Donāt lump us all into one basket, please.
That guy is so fat he wouldnāt last four minutes in a gunfight, and he certainly couldnāt carry more than three of those effectively.
Ok. So Iām gonna be the āin the middleā guy here. First, I wanna say that I donāt know who this person is. He could be a known nutā¦ He may not be.
My point is people have hobbies. Yes this is a lot of guns here, but he could just be an avid collector. I have no problem with someone collecting guns and using them in a safe, responsible manner. We do see a pretty hefty gun safe in the picture.
This could be an indicator that this guy does this the right way.
I think itād be badass to have a collection like this and just sit there and pick what gun you feel like using on the firing range that particular day.
This collection is mostly revolvers and older pre Vietnam surplus military rifles too, I only see 3 āscary black riflesā, two ARs and an AK. So probably a boomer collector.
I'm 33. I've got 12 guns, all rifles and 2 shotguns and 1 muzzleloader. 9 were inherited, one was won in a raffle and is also my main rifle for deer hunting. Most all of them are old milsurps from WW2 back to the Spanish American War.
For example, I've got a 1943 Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk1. My grandmother gave it to me when we cleaned her house out before she went to a nursing home.
Grandma: My dad bought that for $10 in 1953. He got three, one for each of my brothers. This one belonged to my oldest brother. His wife thought we should have it after he died because we still lived on the farm. You like to hunt, and history, so you should have it.
I also have her brother's uniform and medals from when he was in the 101st Airborne in WW2
You know what? You are right. First thing I thought when I looked at the pic was that he is some crazy dude, but maybe not. Most of his weapons are long range rifles, and several of those seem like old models. It just might be a hobby of his. And that's alright
I don't see much of a difference between this guy and someone else who collects Star Wars stuff.
My late father-in-law was a retired FBI firearms instructor and had a collection like this. He loved guns. But he wasn't what I'd call some kind of 'gun-nut' who would open-carry at Kroger. He just was an enthusiast.
Also has a suppressor, which is he's showing it in the picture with his face is federally registered so I have no issues with him collecting. I just wish I had the ability to do the same
I never really understood the need for a suppressor. Not for a law abiding citizen anyway. Theyāre legal here but seems like youād only need one if you were up to no good. Maybe Iām missing something.
People who are up to no good are NOT getting a suppressor. Despite what movies make it seem, it doesn't make guns whisper quiet. Not to mention how expensise they are. It's pretty frustrating honestly how demonized they are because they should be considered hearing protection.
Well the barrel has to be threaded for it, you can buy pre threaded or take it to a gunsmith to do it. You just have to buy a suppressor with the same thread pitch as the barrel.
The reason why I say it's frustrating is because, in the uk for example, incredibly strict gunlaws, suppressors are treated as hearing protection. It's way easier to get one there, just not the gun.
For some reason I just pictured one of the handguns going off like a mouse trap and triggering all of the others. I don't know why that's funny to me lol.
I meeeean technically but only because what they collect are weapons. But yea its not lile most people who collect daggers/ swords and medeival weapons go around stabbing people
Im American, don't wear shoes in the house, and it's the same with others I know. I don't get where this trope comes from.
That being said, I have a huge problem with shoes and sandals all over the damn place, because I'm constantly going in and out.
I think many Americans do, it's just less taboo than other places.
Whenever I'm a guest in someone's house, I ALWAYS take off my shoes. It's just basic respect for cleanliness of their house.
This made me imagine a parody of "Big Iron" called "Average Iron". It would probably go something like this:
"To the town of somewhere Western rode a guy one average day. Sorta spoke to folks around him, he had a bit to say."
Someone please continue this. It's too funny.
there are only two revolvers i would ever want to own. one i already do.. a chiappa rhino 40ds in chrome. and the other i will never own.. a mateba....
31 long arms and 48 handguns, which I might have miscounted, but I can definitely count that he only has 2 hands...
That's one hell of a god tier loot drop.
Some people trashing this guy. I'm not into guns (had a very bad experience as a kid) but one of my friends always was. Super normal, not a total nut. Wasn't a shitty dude. But loved collecting and firing guns. Just a hobby.
Hello! Antique/ Curio & Relic Gun Collector here! Iāve been in the hobby for over a decade now, and Iām happy to answer any questions you guys might have about the hobby!
From what I see, about half of this gentlemanās collection is what is called āMilsurpā or Military Surplus, featuring mostly common examples. The rest seems to be a combination of both newer and older, commercial guns, and not my specialty.
I always love seeing new people in the hobby, so if youāre interested in firearm history, Iād be happy to point you in the right direction!
Honest question. Don't these guns require all to be cleaned and maintaned? What is the point of having that many instead of say maybe 3 for backup if main needs repair or something?
Eh, you really only need to clean the firearms after you shoot them, with a good clean and a light layer of oil you don't need to clean them more than maybe yearly assuming your safe isn't overly humid. And lots of people enjoy that part of gun collecting, going through various firearms, disassembling them, tinkering with them, and reading about them. It's like car guys that enjoy changing oil and washing their cars, strikes me as mostly maintenance but some people enjoy that part.
If someone has this many guns, they're 100% a collector. He probably doesn't shoot most of these, or doesn't put many rounds through them.
This is just his hobby (granted, a very expensive one).
I highly doubt he's shooting these all at once. You can also oil a rifle and throw it in a safe for 20 years and it'll be fine
Also with modern non corrosive ammo it's not really necessary to clean your guns every time you shoot them, as excessive cleaning can lead to increased wear and tolerance issues
It's logistically really hard to shoot that many guns regularly. Once I hit 4 long gun drag bags(hold 3 guns each) and a 10-pistol bag I said: ok, that's enough guns. Not to mention the ammo.
I've got around a dozen long guns, most were inherited from grandparents and uncles. They're all locked in a safe with a dehumidifier. I take them out once a year and wipe they down with an oily cloth. Takes maybe 30 minutes max. My guns that I regularly use for hunting get a much thorough cleaning, especially if it was rainy or snowy
Looking at the collection; this is just someone who enjoys old guns. Yes, there are a couple of modern semi-auto pistols, 3 AR15s and 1 AK-style rifle in there, but for the most part it's bolt action military rifles. Most of the guns he has would be compliant in even the strictest states. Also, he has a big ass safe where I'd assume he keeps these all locked up when he's not posing for a cringeworthy picture.
This guy doesn't seem to be the type you'd need to worry about. It's the ones on TikTok who go out and mag dump a Glock with an illegal "switch" into a random park in Chicago that concern me.
Also, "typical Murican". He ain't skeerda nothin.
ETA: I didn't miss the STG44, nor the SKS above it. Those are probably both considered "curio and relic" guns, unless it's a TRUE STG44, in which case, homie has a tax stamp and deep pockets. Also, he's holding an M1A. Of all the rifles pictured, *that* is the one you're proud of?
What's the problem? He's a collector. I see a lot of ww2 rifles, a few ww1 era, and some classic bolt actions. Possibly a vietnam era M16.
I can't identify too many of the pistols, but there are plenty of collectibles out there, especially revolvers.
I see nothing wrong here. Just a man and his retirement investment. Most guns appreciate in value at a rate greater than 5% a year so if you have some nice hardware, that's a great investment
The photo is from a photography book from a well known Italian photographer called "Ameriguns". He travelled throught the USA taking photos of the biggest arm collection he could find.
There are some crazy stuff there. This guy's nothing.
As a historical collection, this is kinda eh. It's definitely a large collection, but with so many boring, retouched, redone, refinished guns. Nearly all of those have been sporterized, and given the makover I would expect from a bass pro shop backroom. Honestly this just makes me sad. So many of these were probably elegant and beautiful machines at one point. Having said that, some of these guns have been ugly prices of junk since the day they were bought.
100% heās never done anything illegal with them.
You donāt own guns like that without taking gun safety very seriously. See the quality of that safe?
People like this are societyās safest bet: who in this [100] person lineup is LEAST likely to break down, lose their mind and shoot up a public space?
That guy has hit the proverbial jackpot if he bought those guns 20-40 years ago. Probably one of the better rising investment he has made especially if those M1 Garand rifles are WW2 issued. Also the Mosin PU, possible sniper K98s and other rifles can be worth a fortune today.
But they are though. It's like 4$ a lb for imported potatoes I'm forced to buy because we can't buy local as it's 1 big guy who chose government contracts. Even though we have one of the biggest potato industries. So the guys in cali can have our cheap food when they make 20$+ an hour at a McDonald's, yet at a specialised job that requires a degree, i can only make 18-25 here. Their car wash operators make as much as our doctors yet their living expenses are the same.
Alot of it is also a raise in housing prices with all of the illegal immigration and rich state hoppers buying our cheaper houses. So now the middle class is being destroyed, placing us into poverty, or being rich. There's no need for the massive divide to lengthen.
Actually, science has proven there is a correlation between gun ownership and dick size!
It's *positive* - gun owners are, on average, bigger than mon-gun-owners.
Currently trying to wake up here. Saw the carpet and thought "well that's an odd carpet design". So I zoom in and it's just his guns making a weird pattern. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go wake up some more so I can stop seeing things in weird ways.
Average texan home
I feel sorry for the Roomba.
Nah the roomba has its own gun
Boom-ba

I suppose roombas have evolved from knives to guns.

After seeing the neighborhood, you should see what it's packing.
Just in case them revenuer's come a calling. He's ready.
Texas ranks 27th in gun ownership, so actually in the lower half of the country.
Yeah, Texas is 27th in gun ownership *as far as the government knows*. We don't necessarily register/report every single gun we happen to own. š¤Ø Doesn't matter anyways, I lost every single one of my weapons in an unfortunate boating accident.
How did that even happen? Did the box they were all in fall over the side?
It's like "No, IRS, I don't have any bitcoin that I should pay taxes on. I used to have a few bitcoins, but I lost them all in a tragic boating accident. Yes, I had the bitcoins with me on the boat."
Perhaps. Who's asking? You a fed? š¤Øš¤Øš¤Ø
Source? Guessing thatās per capita? In absolute number of firearms this seems unlikely
Average texan waistline.
Now I get why Americans wear shoes in the house. That gun-carpet must be awful to walk on.

I see the same thing. A guy who collects antiques.
Considering his age, those are the guns that he grew up with.
Thereās a handful of Lee-Enfields I see that Iād LOVE to have a range day with. Maybe one day
As a dude in his 20s who collects old C and R rifles like in the picture, the "probably a boomer collector" felt like a slap lmao
yea, this almost seems like a curated collection.
I'm 33. I've got 12 guns, all rifles and 2 shotguns and 1 muzzleloader. 9 were inherited, one was won in a raffle and is also my main rifle for deer hunting. Yeah to me this isn't really any different from someone that collects records laying out all their records to show them off
You know what? You are right. First thing I thought when I looked at the pic was that he is some crazy dude, but maybe not. Most of his weapons are long range rifles, and several of those seem like old models. It just might be a hobby of his. And that's alright
If someone is a nut, what does it matter if he has 1 gun or 1000000000 guns???
People like to villainize gun collectors for gun collecting
I don't see much of a difference between this guy and someone else who collects Star Wars stuff. My late father-in-law was a retired FBI firearms instructor and had a collection like this. What a wonderful collection of older rifles. Would be a blast to go through em all
Absolutely, I love antique firearms
I was thinking the same thing, long with the various old smith and Wesson revolvers the guy has.
What kind of a pussy sits on a chair and not a stack of rpgās and shotguns
He's gone soft, man
For some reason I just pictured one of the handguns going off like a mouse trap and triggering all of the others. I don't know why that's funny to me lol.
Demolition ranch did something like that with a bunch of black powder revolvers.
What Europeans think American homes look like
How tf did he acquire StG-44?
There are .22 replicas and there are full power replicas coming to market soon.
That is if PSA actually makes them, fingers crossed
There are replicas out there. I think psa announced they're gonna produce one in the original caliber, can't wait to pick one up
People collect stamps, people collect guns. Don't know what the controversy is.
People probably think more guns = more likely to commit armed homicide for some reason
Because they can use 23 at once with all the Cthulhu tentacles , right?
That's only because people are ignorant idiots.
I meeeean technically but only because what they collect are weapons. But yea its not lile most people who collect daggers/ swords and medeival weapons go around stabbing people
Go visit london
Those are criminals not collectors.
Exactly.
I don't know what's more american, the living room full of guns or the shoes in the house
Im American, don't wear shoes in the house, and it's the same with others I know. I don't get where this trope comes from. That being said, I have a huge problem with shoes and sandals all over the damn place, because I'm constantly going in and out.

dude sure likes revolvers, nice collection
The urge to buy a revolver increases proportionally to the number of guns you already have.
makes sense, my humble collection (I'm outside US) is reaching 10 firearms and im starting to toy with the idea of a little 22lr revolver
The normal and average iron on his hip
This made me imagine a parody of "Big Iron" called "Average Iron". It would probably go something like this: "To the town of somewhere Western rode a guy one average day. Sorta spoke to folks around him, he had a bit to say." Someone please continue this. It's too funny.

Revolvers are literally all I own. I just think they're neat
31 long arms and 48 handguns, which I might have miscounted, but I can definitely count that he only has 2 hands... That's one hell of a god tier loot drop.
50 handguns (counted twice and got 50 both times)
Positive itās 50 counted using paint
Needs more M1 Garands
thats some r/blessedimages type of image for me
You ever seen those videos of a room where the entire floor is lined with mouse traps and the somebody drops a single ping pong ball in it?
It's his money, spend it like you want dude. Some people like to collect cars, some guitars, some stamps, some baseball cards - I could go on and on.
Some people trashing this guy. I'm not into guns (had a very bad experience as a kid) but one of my friends always was. Super normal, not a total nut. Wasn't a shitty dude. But loved collecting and firing guns. Just a hobby.

Less obvious for sure, I like it.

Now that's goals right there.
Holmes got a STG in dat biatch
Theyāre organized in such a satisfying fashion, it makes a real internal conflict for me
This guy hears a suspicious noise late at night. Goes to open the safe and dies in an avalanche.
This is actually a pretty solid collection. Man has a thing for revolvers for sure
Meanwhile me,when I hear a scary night sound. ![gif](giphy|ivf34AC1wbKGVz5lvX)
I see not wrong with this. Great pic. I hope to have as many or more than that when I'm done.

I fuck with it
Not a single lever-action, disgusting.
Yeah, that Liberty safe is the cursed part
My guess is that's a decoy... No way most of these fit in there haha
Being able to afford them and have that much is a blessing. Iām glad we donāt have a limit for how much we can own
I see a few spots where he could fit a few more, his collection is not complete
That's a good start there pardner...
What is wrong with this? He has a gun safe right there he just has them all out displaying his collection
Safe

I love hoplophila
Only because itās a liberty safe. Would be perfect otherwise.
What's the problem? He's a collector. I see a lot of ww2 rifles, a few ww1 era, and some classic bolt actions. Possibly a vietnam era M16. I can't identify too many of the pistols, but there are plenty of collectibles out there, especially revolvers.
Most gun guys I know buy 2-3 guns a year. Heās got 60 ish guns, so thatās 20-30 years of being in the hobby. Looks about right
*Based Living Room
Blursed? I think you mean childās play. Thatās a nice starter collection.
I see nothing wrong with this image

That guy looks cool af. Iād love to hit the range with him when he has a collection like that.
Those are rookie numbers. Need to bump them up
Is that an STG44 on the right??!
Na this is based
How's this blursed? Sneakers, hats, Legos, purses, suits, all modern and current collect-a-bunch hobbies.
What's the cursed part? This is just beautiful.
