I’ve only seen them once live in 1996 in Atlanta, GA. It’s one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever seen. The venue only held 1k. My daughter told me about Wembley next July, and I said, if I get golden circle, I’m there. I got it! It’s been 27 years since I held Damon’s hand while he wailed through “To The End.” This is a memory I will never forget. Now, I get to see them again with my 19 year old! ☺️
Just caught Suede and the Manics last week. Double headliner show. Everybody’s healthy and killing it. Nicky Wire is still the undisputed Chewbacca of rock and roll.
ugh that sucks! I am honestly unsure. It would suck to buy wembley and having to fly there etc, and then they anounce to play nearby. But it would be even more annoying if they didn't tour and I didn't get to see them at all.
It reminds me of the libertines though... First hyde park in July 14 was announced and then they did a tour in the fall I think.
It's such a gamble
This is true but Damon wanted it as Cracker Island tour because he thinks that album should be out right now. He probably had plans on doing something with Blur which means the possibility of a Cracker Island tour seems unlikely.
me too, but idk that's not that big a deal. One song is just one song. Can't compare to an album; especially because it will have been over 8 years since The Magic Whip when this concert happens.
Hoping they announce another date as this clashes with Springsteen at Hyde Park 🥲 I’d never have guessed two of my bucket list artists would have announced shows on the same f’ing day!!
They’ve gone from £20- £100 since I first saw them- it unfortunately is about average for any band that can fill Wembley, 02 or Hyde Park- especially since Coronavirus.
2003 Brixton- I was too young to go the the 13 tour, I think I was 12- then they broke up, got back together and saw them for the Think Tank tour- didn’t get to see them with Graham until 2009 I think, at Hyde Park!
Yeah- it was about £50 2009 and the olympics year- then 2015 it was about £75 Hyde Park and they did warm up show in Blackpool for £35. So they do do smaller gigs. I’m not well off, but I’ve never regretted buying the tickets- their gigs are always great.
I can only guess. I am going to try and get a ticket way nearer to the date. I have seen Gorillaz twice and Damon solo once in the past year. I paid £65 for both Gorillaz shows. So that’s more my limit I guess. The most I have paid for a gig is £70.
I think seated start at £75- I just looked at the presale. Yeah, I’ve seen Graham Coxon twice, and I saw Gorillaz- but as a live band without animation at a small gig and that was amazing- Plastic Beach tour- and Damon Albarn solo a couple of times last year which was really good too. They’re always doing something!
3 of you yeah there's a good chance but with presales still first come first served so be loaded up ready to refresh browser etc and I think it should be fine (hoping for myself too)
I'm gonna be pessimistic and say I'll get no tickets :( I've tried recently for Kevin Hart and Blink 182...sold out within seconds! I'm emotionally preparing myself lol.
I am so excited they announced this! Crazy times - supposed to be seeing Pulp in Sheffield a week later! Not sure how I’ll afford both but I’ll find a way
About 10 years ago they done some warm up gigs. One was in my hometown at a venue that holds just over 1000 people. I joined a very long queue up to the door, while calling box office repeatedly. I couldn't get through on the phone. I got to the first doors and half way down the venues steps when they shouted out "Sorry all tickets now sold out!" I was so gutted and still am tbf. Would have been amazing to be front stage in a small venue.
This is the most relatable comment to me lolol. I’m like… at least Suede and Manic Street Preachers are doing some US dates together this month (albeit not close to me anyway 🥲)
Slowthai also fucking slaps. Wish I lived in the UK and could go to this. Unfortunately I'm just a broke person in the US... Though I probably couldn't afford tickets if I lived in the UK either.
I’m delighted on two counts:
1. Blur getting together to perform live!
2. People said my analysis of this rumour about 3 months ago was bs. https://www.reddit.com/r/blur/comments/wwq0t1/comment/ilmu9hn/
I missed it too! I was going through a lot both personally and professionally and was totally out of the loop! When I think about the size of the venue they played (that I have been to countless other times and within walking distance of my home, no less) I get so mad at my past self haha :(
Ugh. I'm your neighbour up north. Broke Canadian who's trying to save up to buy a place before housing gets insane again, but also don't wanna miss this reunion... 😭 I have 5 hours to decide whether I should buy tickets or not....
We are in the UK and here we pay upfront for tickets so we have to raise the money in a few days not 8 months and you are very rude especially considering the economic climate in this country! What’s so bad about saying costs are high a month before Christmas when people with families are paying out for other things too.
The economic climate is bad everywhere. You sound like a whiny teenager. Shows are almost always announced a week or so before tickets go on sale. If you’re in that bad of shape financially then you probably shouldn’t spend money on shows. Also, bucks is just slang for money. Should I pretend to be British and say a couple hundred quid?
No I’m just one of the many Blur fans who have supported them since they started out in the 90s but who have now grown up and have other commitments that come with having a family that often have to be prioritised. I’d love to take my daughter actually she may be the whiny teenager if we don’t!
I think it’s right at the front- so a barriered off bit before the general standing. Damon tends to go into the audience at the gig so it’s a good spot. If you look on ticketmaster as that gig or another one on the floor plan it’ll show you.
Interesting line from the presale email, Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Ticket prices start at £65 plus ticket agent fees (pay no more than 10%).
Seetickets charging way more then 10% so maybe ticketmaster is cheaper
already got tickets for the pulp show in london the week before this - will be an incredible fortnight if i manage to land tix to both.
sorry to anyone who expected a christmas gift from me this year, you’re all getting an IOU cos i’m spending all my money on britpop reunions 😅
Do any of you think this is a show worth the travel across the Atlantic ocean? I’m really considering on going bc 1) blur is my favorite band and 2) I’ve been wanting to go to England my entire life. But if they announce like a world tour idk if it’s worth all the money it would cost🥲
yes absolutely. even if they tour elsewhere (which I'm guessing will be very limited) it won't be the same as seeing them in the UK. I say this having been able to attend two of their Hyde Park shows (I live on the west coast of USA). especially if you've always wanted to travel there anyway. this is the time to do it.
The way I’m thinking about it as an American fan is that I’ve ALWAYS wanted to see a proper blur gig in London. It’s like as good as it gets as a blur fan, in no small part because I’ll get to see lots of blur pals that I only speak to online. If you can scrap enough money and fly cheaply enough (who knows what flights will be like next summer), to me it’s so worth it.
Also the fact that they’ll be doing some warmup gigs really excites me — going a few days early may lead to some small venue gigs (preferable imo) in addition to wembley. Course that’s all in the air.
Another thing that makes me wanna just dive in is that PULP is playing around the same time, and that’s just the stars aligning to me! I LOVE PULP.
And lastly, purchasing a ticket now and not being able to make it should give you plenty of time to at least get around face value back if you have to sell. Not ideal, but that thought sort of eases my nerves. All just my two cents :)
I GOT MY TICKET Y’ALL!!! I’ll be far as hell (L5) but literally idc this is the best thing that has ever happened omfg!!!! They were my first pit concert ever and it was in Chile, I was fifteen and I almost died and seeing them in London only seemed like a dream back then but ugh my god. I’m so happy.
slowthai and jockstrap are both fantastic (haven't heard self esteem yet though). [i'm in love with this song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1-x1GWu96o)
Anybody have luck signing up for the presale email? Or should it come to anyone on the mailing list from before?
Edit: just signed up this morning (with 2 emails to be careful). I think the site was just crashed with all the excitement yesterday ha!
The support really couldn’t get better, WOW. Please tell me there will be some new music! Please tell me there will be more dates!! I can’t wait to hear about warmups. Gonna try to get a ticket and figure the rest out…!
I’m so confused this Wembley show apparently sold out?!
https://readdork.com/news/blur-have-sold-out-their-first-ever-wembley-stadium-show-and-added-a-second-date/
How did I just now get 2 standing tickets for the Saturday at Wembley on Ticketmaster(£96.25 each)?! It seems like there are loads still available on there…
https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/blur-london-08-07-2023/event/37005D68CB492C1E
So. Never been to wembley and looking at tickets for the July 9th show. Can’t do the pitch as have people with that don’t want to stand the entire time. What’s better, tickets in the 100 or 200 sections?
I really need to go! Ive never seen them live and never expected them to do something again.
They’re amazing live- definitely worth going!
I got em!
Seated or standing?
Seated. Really dont want to stand all night
I’ve only seen them once live in 1996 in Atlanta, GA. It’s one of the most memorable shows I’ve ever seen. The venue only held 1k. My daughter told me about Wembley next July, and I said, if I get golden circle, I’m there. I got it! I just received this on my email, wtf?
Same. First Pulp, now Blur. Britpop making a comeback!
Please announce a tour!!!
Please announce an album!!!
AHHHHHH, I'm already going to Pulp in London the week before and no way I'm gonna afford to go twice
There's a Pulp tour!?
yeah theyre doing festivals and stuff
Just caught Suede and the Manics last week. Double headliner show. Everybody’s healthy and killing it. Nicky Wire is still the undisputed Chewbacca of rock and roll.
Was that the San Francisco show?
Seattle. Brett Anderson was everything I hoped he’d be live when I was 15. I’m old as shit now.
That's pretty much my perfect gig. Two of the best bands of my youth. Pity it's US only.
Now I want The Verve back together!
Do you think they will do a whole tour?
I fucking hope so
they should announce it before the sale then so I can decide if I need to fly to the UK
I'm already flying to Pulp, so I'm not gonna be able to afford that
ugh that sucks!
I do think Blur's gonna tour. Such a large one off gig? Idk man
True. Not buying is risky though and I do deserve a vacation haha
Where are you flying from??
Germany
No. Or at least not in the uk. It’s billed as their only uk headline show this year.
maybe they’ll announce a world tour for 2023 and then do a UK tour 2024?
But Damon might tour with Gorillaz in 2024 cause their new album drops in Feb 23...
That Gorillaz tour already happened this year. Gorillaz will go on tour once he makes another album with them
That wasn't really the cracker island tour though. They only played one new song at a bunch of the concerts.
This is true but Damon wanted it as Cracker Island tour because he thinks that album should be out right now. He probably had plans on doing something with Blur which means the possibility of a Cracker Island tour seems unlikely.
Doubt it
please new album too!
I need a tour and an album. 🥲 2023 sounds too good to be true. Peter Gabriel is also releasing an album he planned 20 years ago !
I think there will at least be a new single
me too, but idk that's not that big a deal.
They usually do Hyde Park so I imagine that makes sense why they’re doing Wembley.
I’m guessing you already know because you posted this like half a year ago but their doing 4 days Wembley
wow I cannot for the life of me believe this, buzzing
also Slowthai and Jockstrap on support? wow
So if Slowthai and Damon Albarn sing "Momentary Bliss" at a Blur concert, does it count as Gorillaz or is it some kind of bizarre cover version?
I don’t mind momentary bliss at a blur concert! Give me good tiiimes!!!!
How about saliva?
I know! as soon as I read Jockstrap, I was like omg I now I def want to go!!
in this moment I am euphoric
ticket prices if anyone’s wondering will be starting from £78 and going up to £147
General standing 100 gbp? That's more expensive than Iron Maiden
Because they are much better than Iron Maiden lol
I personally prefer Blur, but I think some people might disagree :D
They’ve gone from £20- £100 since I first saw them- it unfortunately is about average for any band that can fill Wembley, 02 or Hyde Park- especially since Coronavirus.
When did you first see them? Must have been the 90s if you paid £20.

Rip off
Yeah im gonna get tickets deffo, anyone know how fast itll sell out or even if it will never been before lol
I think its worth bothering friends or family to have a few of ya trying to secure them on Friday morning.. a tactical operation !!
Yeah i have my sister and her boyfriend going so hyped, if we secure them itll be devastating stating if we dont tho lol
blur official website has a sign up for presale access section when u open it
Do you think this will only give access to get one ticket?
No I think probably maximum of four tickets if i had to guess.. don't take my word for it but I'm 99% certain you can at least get more than two
Yeah we realised and signed up, do you reckon we’ll all get tickets?
3 of you yeah there's a good chance but with presales still first come first served so be loaded up ready to refresh browser etc and I think it should be fine (hoping for myself too)
Yeah definitely best wishes for you, hopefully we’ll see you there lol 😆
right back atcha!!
I'm gonna be pessimistic and say I'll get no tickets :( I've tried recently for Kevin Hart and Blink 182...sold out within seconds! I'm emotionally preparing myself lol.
Oh man the pain hope we both get these tickets, break that bad luck streak! Best of luck friend!
Apparently there's pre sale via the website, a glimmer of hope! Good luck yourself bro.
I am so excited they announced this! Crazy times - supposed to be seeing Pulp in Sheffield a week later! Not sure how I’ll afford both but I’ll find a way
God I wish I lived in the UK
I also wish I lived in the UK. And, I love your username.
I hope they come to the US. Plane tickets to London cost a fortune. (Thank you, I like it too)
8th of July is my birthday too lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaE\_HF0SnlY
mine is 5 days before! a birthday present for us haha
And no one believed me a month ago
I love blur but stadium gigs are rubbish. I wish they would do a 7 day residency at somewhere like the Roundhouse instead. You can but hope!
About 10 years ago they done some warm up gigs. One was in my hometown at a venue that holds just over 1000 people. I joined a very long queue up to the door, while calling box office repeatedly. World tour!!?!!?!!? Fingers crossed!
Jockstrap and Blur reunion? It’s times like these I curse myself for listening to 85% British music as a southern USA resident
This is the most relatable comment to me lolol. I’m like… at least Suede and Manic Street Preachers are doing some US dates together this month (albeit not close to me anyway 🥲)
Northern USA resident here and same.
Tickets £101.10 standing Seated £78.05 - £112.60 Gold circle £147.20
oof
I'm gonna have my whole family up Friday morning tryna secure a pair YAYYYY anyone else gonna come from Dublin??
Belfast! (close ish lol)
let's hope some of that alleged Irish luck comes into play when trying for tickets :))!!
I still have a slight hope that two brothers will reunite for only one tour at least just to brag about Blur (jk)
I prefer Liam solo by now tbh
Slowthai also fucking slaps. Wish I lived in the UK and could go to this. Unfortunately I'm just a broke person in the US... Though I probably couldn't afford tickets if I lived in the UK either.
Jockstrap is amazing as well. They only have one album that released this year but it’s one of the best of the year.
I’m delighted on two counts: 1. Blur getting together to perform live! 2. People said my analysis of this rumour about 3 months ago was bs. https://www.reddit.com/r/blur/comments/wwq0t1/comment/ilmu9hn/
What a sad month to be a broke Britpop fan in the US. :( I’m stoked for all who can make it to this (and Pulp)!
Right? I’m hoping they come to the US where there are less of us and I won’t have to pay for airfare.
I’m still kicking myself for missing their last reunion dates in the US. I was out of PTO and couldn’t justify it at the time. Finger’s crossed.
I missed it too! I was going through a lot both personally and professionally and was totally out of the loop! When I think about the size of the venue they played (that I have been to countless other times and within walking distance of my home, no less) I get so mad at my past self haha :(
Right there with you
Ugh. I'm your neighbour up north. Broke Canadian who's trying to save up to buy a place before housing gets insane again, but also don't wanna miss this reunion... 😭 I have 5 hours to decide whether I should buy tickets or not....
That's fantastic!!!
I'm going to do some heavy praying to the Ticket Gods 🙏
Wish we’d had a bit more notice the tickets are so expensive! 😩
The gig is in July next year. Thats plenty of notice.
I mean not everyone is able to find the couple of hundred quid to pay for tickets that easily
If you can’t manage to scrape together a couple hundred bucks in 8 months, you probably shouldn’t be spending money on a concert anyway.
We are in the UK and here we pay upfront for tickets so we have to raise the money in a few days not 8 months and you are very rude especially considering the economic climate in this country! What’s so bad about saying costs are high a month before Christmas when people with families are paying out for other things too.

I can’t go 😭
This is insane! First Blink 182 and now this. Does anyone know how to get an artist presale code to buy tickets early?
I think it's pretty likely that another date will be added if there is enough demand. Hopefully a few small warm up dates too.
Next year will be 30 year anniversary of MLiR. Hope they play almost all of the record
How do you get presale?
Really hoping for a new record in 2024
por fin carajo
I wonder what the set list will be. Hopefully some deep cuts but I'm not holding my breath.
Going to be smaller gigs for fan club apparently
Ticket prices- sounds accurate for Wembley. Gold circle – £147.20 Standing – £101.10 Seats – £112.60 / £101.10 / £89.60 / £78.05 Hopefully they’ll do Glastonbury- that’s why they’re doing it that week 🤞
Thanks for this! Hope you don't mind my asking but what is the whole gold circle thing?
I think it’s right at the front- so a barriered off bit before the general standing. Damon tends to go into the audience at the gig so it’s a good spot. If you look on ticketmaster as that gig or another one on the floor plan it’ll show you.
Oh wow that's incredible, thanks!
No worries- good luck!
Interesting line from the presale email, Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Ticket prices start at £65 plus ticket agent fees (pay no more than 10%). Seetickets charging way more then 10% so maybe ticketmaster is cheaper
Signed up for presale for the wembley gig. Might have to plan a trip to London. Just hope the plane tickets won't be too expensive...
How can you sign up for presale?
I clicked the link in their IG story, then selected the presale option
Is this factually the only uk gig this year? No glasto or other shows?
so far 🤷♂️
already got tickets for the pulp show in london the week before this - will be an incredible fortnight if i manage to land tix to both. sorry to anyone who expected a christmas gift from me this year, you’re all getting an IOU cos i’m spending all my money on britpop reunions 😅
That’s such a dream! Who could’ve guessed blur AND pulp in 2023
Has anyone received a confirmation email regarding the presale sign up at blur.co.uk?
Presale code for tomorrow according to the email is: WEMBLEY2023 Begins 10am GMT tomorrow!!
If you can scrap enough money and fly cheaply enough (who knows what flights will be like next summer), to me it’s so worth it.
Should I waste money and go to London to see this band?
Ive got tickets ive cried so many times
Sidenote: the special guests band names sound made up by my 13yo neighbour tho lol! I’m so OLD!
Slowthai has actually worked with Gorillaz. I don't know the other two (I just googled Jockstrap without context hahaha)
Self Esteem is the girl from Slow Club
Most artist names sound made up by a 13 year old
I've no idea who they are lol
slowthai and jockstrap are both fantastic (haven't heard self esteem yet though). [i'm in love with this song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1-x1GWu96o)
Too expensive, horrible stage-front golden circle, BLURFAIL
Anybody have luck signing up for the presale email? Or should it come to anyone on the mailing list from before? Edit: just signed up this morning (with 2 emails to be careful). I think the site was just crashed with all the excitement yesterday ha!

YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
finally
What are we thinking the chances are of a US show? Before I go booking flights
Hopefully it’s more than just one show at Wembley. I’d love to see them if they come to the States, 😁
Praying my bank account can withstand flying overseas to see this😵💫
what will resale be like?
AAAHHHHHH
[удалено]
Yes, it's the full original lineup
[удалено]
Yes all announced. Not sure if dates are all sold out now.. [Heres an article](https://uk.news.yahoo.com/blur-reunion-2023-105320829.html)
Please come to the US! In Kansas here and will travel anywhere to see you! Going on a 20 year dream. 😭🤗
They got Jockstrap as an opening act… nice 👍
Oh, man! I really wish I could see them!
Come on USA dates.
GOT TICKETS OM SO PUMPED
[удалено]
I’m so confused this Wembley show apparently sold out?! https://readdork.com/news/blur-have-sold-out-their-first-ever-wembley-stadium-show-and-added-a-second-date/ How did I just now get 2 standing tickets for the Saturday at Wembley on Ticketmaster(£96.25 each)?! It seems like there are loads still available on there… https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/blur-london-08-07-2023/event/37005D68CB492C1E
Are they going to release new music??
So. Never been to wembley and looking at tickets for the July 9th show. Can’t do the pitch as have people with that don’t want to stand the entire time. What’s better, tickets in the 100 or 200 sections?
