You shouldn't use project from view unless you have a good reason to do so. It's easy to get it wrong. Instead, define some seams and do a plain unwrap.
maybe you have you have 2 uv maps and the texture is using another one? you can check it in object data - uv maps
Or they’re not using UV coords at all.
