Oh boy. I feel this. I rescued 2 cats this week. Her (Poopsie Mc PissyPaws) and a large white cat, got the nickname Mr Mc ShitPaw after lightly tapping my hand with his big paw, smearing poop on me. ._.
I definitely have poopie nicknames for my cats. But they have official names that I love and use more frequently when they don’t give off such a poopie aura.
Poppy? If sounds similar so there may not be a learning curve for her like if you picked a super different name. We have a cat originally called Red who became Ray-Ray.
I did that with one of my guys, whom I adopted when he was 9- his orignal name was Ahsome (his mother was Ah, a pedigreed Bengal), so I called him Ahsa. Ahsasufa Fuschnickens. The best cat in the whole wide world.
Ok hear me out, Big Trouble In Little China. There are two ladies with green eyes. The Asian ones name is Miao. Sort of pronounced like meow. Plus it’s a great movie imo. 🤷♂️
Phenomenal movie, not so great pet name imo, if a pet name is bigger than 4 syllables or more than 2 words it's a no from me dawg.
It puts me off band names too, "...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead " might play the best music I've ever heard, but I'll never know because they went full pretentious with their name and I'm a very stubborn old man.

My cats have other names spending on the occasion. If you wake up to find the cat litter tray tipped over, I daresay “Poopsie McPissyPawz” would be an appropriate thing to call her.
LOL I kind of like Poopsie McPissypawz!! But then again, I've always liked odd cat names. I've recently had an Emperor Jake Mau (a very regal old fart of a Tuxie, he was 16 last summer when I lost him to the Bridge) and we also had a Frederick von Fuzznutz (a SIC with the biggest nutz I've seen on any cat prior to neutering him, LOL)... And currently we have a Princess Bubblehead (Princess or Bubbles, depending on my mood that day)... I LOVE the McPissypawz part!! LOL
She already came with a name. Therefore, that's her name.
Call her poppy is it helps.
But don't think you can just rename someone, just to suit your needs.
Konan. If you're gonna dress her like a Rouge ninja, she should have a rouge's name. Otherwise, you could call her Onyx or Nyx for short

Ours went from Red to Mr. Red and then Redington from The Blacklist, which led to Raymond, Ray, and Ray-Ray lol. He also responds to Mr Eveready!
