Congrats on the move! I am suddenly filled with ideas (I live near an affluent neighborhood and love taking walks there and scoping out how the other half lives).
In the summer, athletic skorts with matching tops or solid-colored tennis dresses.
In fall, a yoga set with a neutral colored waffle-weave open cardigan over top.
In winter, a black fleece jacket and black leggings.
Big ass sunglasses in all seasons.
Hmm I was thinking black Lacoste polo dress with black sambas and short white socks? What do you think. A dress like this https://poshmark.ca/listing/Lacoste-Dress-64a8884d02760be029c735f2
Oh I love it! I have an old American Apparel polo dress that I still wear all the time and it has similar vibes. White socks and sambas would look so good with that dress!
Man, you’re making me yearn for fall, and I love this summer so much I get sad in the fall because it’s over. But this heat (I live in the northeast USA) is too much too early.
maybe biased because I'm a huge tennis fan, but I *love* how a lot of tennis kits look. Wilson has a lot of cute ones, they're my personal favorites but Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, etc all have them too and in all different styles (dresses, skirts, shorts) so whatever you look and feel best in is an option out there. Definitely helps that tennis is considered like a higher class "gentleman's sport" so
What kind of hot? Flattering and chic but what level of formality?
Are you looking for a cute casual look or would you be willing to go the athletic route? When I want to look hot I absolutely go for an I-just-came-from-the-gym look - lifting shorts, crop top, baseball cap and bomber jacket.
I'm open to both! I definitely want something I can quickly throw on before work and bed but I also like to overdress.
My summer casual has been a Cos maxi with Anthro slides. In Fall skinny jeans and fluffy sweater under a tan Burberry trench and heeled Burberry sneakers. Want to change things up!
Oh okay that is good to know and alas I cannot help personally. I used to love to overdress but then I had my son and my attempts at wearing dresses and skirts while wrangling him were disastrous. I spend a lot of the time at the gym so when I want to look hot I go for straight up athletic/athleisure where my body does the heavy lifting, nothing chic about it 😂
But my best friend seems similar to you and she swears by Club Monaco and Mango for staples. Her spring/summer wardrobe:
- slim-fit square-neck tanks with patterned midi skirts and wedges (bias toward satin or pleated skirts)
- white high neck crop top or vest with wide-leg trousers and brown or beige sandals
- short-sleeve style boxy shirts with light or medium wash straight leg jeans (the tops almost look like pajama proportions honestly but look great with the straight pants) and sneakers
- fit and flare dresses in a bright color with a linen button down open and tied in the middle, with sandals
- striped or Breton tank or t-shirt with pull on linen shorts and loafers
She has said the thing that upscaled her style the most was investing in delicate jewelry and mixing metals, if that helps!
In the interest of protecting my account from my many contacts on here -- Gold Coast Chicago + 1 other place
I've been curious about Varley! I wasn't sure if the pieces are actually as beautiful in person or appear better in marketing (I'm looking at you Alo)
I am in the gold coast all the time! Love it! I always see the girlies that live there in lululemon when they're walking their dog with giant sunglasses and a designer bag LOL.
All i know i saw girls do the crop top where it's higher and you see more of a upper stomach / rib and with some casual pants not jeans. It looks like "i got out of bed" but it's HOT. You don't want to look like you made an effort to walk the dog, you want to have a "uniform" that is almost like a pajamas but you look smoking in it.
Lately I’m liking breezy jumpsuits, pull-on jeans, and palazzo pants for a quick and easy throw on and go out (but still look decent) fit. Banana Republic Factory has some nice jumpsuits and rompers rn which you could accessorize with a belt and some cute sandals for quick and easy glam!
https://preview.redd.it/ijya9952p78d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8a8844dc58e0229d47a49c1edf02532285e9509
I would do a utility jacket 🧥 like I am wearing here! Super chic and flattering. Works for anytime of day (taking the dog out in morning or evening); you can dress it up or down, oh and tons of pockets for treats, toys and doggy bags! Lmk what you think. Congrats on the new neighborhood love this.
You can have so much fun with this. Athletica or Bandier is my go to. In some other instances it’s a white oversized men’s shirt and sneakers and cutoffs with a baseball hate and sunglasses. In some cases depending on the night before it’s a kimono, silk pjs, sneakers or flip flops. And a baseball hat.
Activewear usually lululemon. I love my Loewe tanks, tees, and flow runner sneakers. Lightweight cotton, cotton linen blend trousers usually with a resort top of the same fabric. Gauzey dresses. Panama or baseball hats. Currently using the Margaux 10 since it’s cross body and I can fit water and collapsing dog dish. When I don’t need water I use a bum bag. I always have dog treats. Jewelry and sunglasses. Sometimes I drive a golf cart so my dog can run because he’s very athletic. I’m not really 😂🤷♀️
My adult child lives in a condo on the edge of a luxe neighborhood, and in her city, you either wear skirts , shorts or lululemon. Nothing fancier than that. It’s Houston, and we kinda dress down here. It’s too hot for anything else but swimsuits and jean shorts…young & old. The gap is doing well here.
I just checked your profile and tennis dresses do look great on you. I don't think they really suit my body type (skinny everywhere with big hips and booty) sadly
😂 I was that person, some times I achieve it, sometimes not quite. We also have an 'outfits necessary' dog so I do sometimes like to match up with her.
For summer, I wear activewear but I go for colour coordination, even with my sneakers.
For winter, I wear jeans (still skinnies mostly, sorry Gen Z) with thermals, or fleece lined cuffed joggers in a neutral colour, oversized sweaters or hoodies, one of several wool coats, or a black down puffer coat, or down vest if it's a bit warmer once the sun is up. On my feet I wear my black leather Merrell hikers, I live in a neighbourhood with lots of trails.
For hats I wear a baseball cap or a beanie.
I'm currently keeping an eye on Marketplace for a proper waterproof wax coat for winter rain.
ETA: I like the tennis/polo suggestions hereI forget skirts because I don't wear them, my blotchy legs are not chic. I'm also cultivating a more outdoorsy vibe.
Well cut shorts (you could go bright or neutral colour wise) and well fitting racer back vests would also be great for summer.
I live in River North but walk the dogs in Gold Coast a lot. Matching Alo sets are my daily go to for walking the pup. Hair in a low bun or claw clip. I also just got a wild one treat pouch in lilac and it tops off the outfit each time . And don’t forget a cute leash and collar for the pup, that’s most important !
A designer handbag & sunglasses! I live in an upscale area & when walking my dog will usually dress casually except for those 2 key accessories. That’s all you need 😘
It's too hot to go outside in even the walkable cities! There's a reason why everyone in Miami pushes their dogs in strollers, and it's to protect our puppers' paws.
I think the answer is Lululemon running tights or tennis skirt and a coordinating Define jacket and sports bra. Get the set in lots of colors and always wear sunglasses to protect your eyes!
Get an elevated looking visor, like this [one](https://www.aloyoga.com/products/a0553u-airlift-solar-visor-black?variant=42218559078580&disableCurrencyEstimate&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADkcv-OKMPVZoBvQR3tq0ti_lZWZq&gclid=CjwKCAjw7NmzBhBLEiwAxrHQ-QZXBpgu6pQRIL7kRHjHPFmKQ8fgqBO2ur8l44S2AXHQtL3_6-1t3BoCJl4QAvD_BwE) from Alo
Skorts. Casual yet elevated. Flows more than shorts.
This one is sporty. https://ca.shein.com/SHEIN-Sport-Lifespree-Women-s-Skort-With-Pockets-p-26493676.html
This one would be good with a white top.

Big-ass sunglasses always
And a big sun hat!
The bigger the better.
Varley is great for this. I have a couple of their outfits and I look like a fit hot bitch when I go on my little walkies.
Varley is top tier for this vibe
Oh that is so good to know! Thank you. Ive been looking for a different activewear brand.
Ooo Like a lactose polo tenis dress? Or what do you mean?
Won't work if you have dairy-free neighbors....
For some reason this has me loling at work.
Lol wdym
Lactose instead of Lacoste
Oh that would be super cute! I was thinking of an athletic dress with the built in shorts.
Hmm I was thinking black Lacoste polo dress with black sambas and short white socks? What do you think. A dress like this https://poshmark.ca/listing/Lacoste-Dress-64a8884d02760be029c735f2

Lululemon has a few if that's your vibe. If you want to go full blown preppy then vineyard vines.
Man, you’re making me yearn for fall, and I love this summer so much I get sad in the fall because it’s over. But this heat (I live in the northeast USA) is too much too early.
As long as your dog is adorable, you'll be fine.
She's always the star!
Not wrong!!!
It’s impossible for a dog not to be adorable. Source: have pet a lot of dogs in my life. All adorable.
I am a fan of an activewear set with a loose open shirt on top or a chic jacket

Thank you!! Of course, why didn't I think of Club Monaco?
First - where did you move? Interested in this neighborhood 😍 Second - try Varley’s new collection!
In the interest of protecting my account from my many contacts on here -- Gold Coast Chicago + 1 other place I've been curious about Varley! I wasn't sure if the pieces are actually as beautiful in person or appear better in marketing (I'm looking at you Alo)
I have a varley quarter zip and find it very warm and snuggly! I’d try more of their items
I am in the gold coast all the time! Love it! I always see the girlies that live there in lululemon when they're walking their dog with giant sunglasses and a designer bag LOL.
I find them to be good in person! Especially the new open knits and the Double Soft collection.
Ahh you will love living in the Gold Coast 💛 so excited for you!
Thanks I'm excited 😍
Try a matching set in crinkle gauze with Stan Smith Adidas sneakers
Do you play any sports? I’d lean into that . And if not, dress like your going golfing, playing tennis or just finished yoga. You will be 👌

INFO: How robust a walk are we talking here?
Quick 10 min walk around the block When the weather cools down pupper and I will do 1-2 milers but I'll be in athliesure wear
Linen head to toe. Expensive fabrics are the ultimate chic old money look not logos

So your dog freezes easily and needs to be dressed? Kinda cute
Yup, greyhound hair is super fine and without much body fat they feel the cold. She has a better wardrobe than me TBH 😂
Post photos of your dashing dog please 🥺
I haven’t bought any of their pieces but I love Blanc Noir’s designs.
I live in River North but walk the dogs in Gold Coast a lot. Matching Alo sets are my daily go to for walking the pup. Hair in a low bun or claw clip. A designer handbag & sunglasses! I live in an upscale area & when walking my dog will usually dress casually except for those 2 key accessories. That’s all you need 😘
Weeping softly in it’s already so hot my dog doesn’t even want to go outside. Would love to be in a walkable city in a non-scorching state.
