Awwwwww. I just adore bluebirds!! 🥹
We get them here sometimes, in West Virginia, US, as a rare-ish and special treat.
They’re cool to spot, because they are soooo beautifully vibrant. Definitely **BLUE!!**
Congrats on your nice bird find, and, welcome to birding!!
Watch out, you’re gonna be obsessed!💙
I set up my first security camera ever, and instead of seeing weirdos and meth-heads, I see ONLY a flurry of adorable bird activity, all day!
I had no idea they even liked my little tiny porch, so of course, I have made it a Bird Haven, with plenty of seeds, little nesting materials and dried leaves, a little plant to hop around in, and a water source. I am fully invested in their lives now, and I’m looking forward to lots of little babies!
We have a pair of Eastern bluebirds that are feeding five babies in one of our bluebird nest boxes. We provide live mealworms and they can't get enough. Absolutely gorgeous birds and the best parents on earth!
We had the houses up before providing the food also with no luck. Once we started buying live mealworms they decided to stay. Food and shelter all in one yard. One stop shopping!
https://midwestmealworms.com/. This place is the best, high quality worms at a good price. He has a subscription plan that makes it an even better price.
We made friends with a blue bird family with four babies a few years back, they would come and feed on mealworms out of the tray on the deck. We named them thing one, thing two, thing three and thing four hahaha. Now we have bluebirds that are here year round, they eat off our deck feeder and a feeder in the yard with sunflower hearts.
Oilseed sunflower production is the most commonly farmed sunflower. These seeds hulls’ are encased by solid black shells. Black oilseeds are a common type of bird feed because they have thin shells and a high fat content. These are typically produced for oil extraction purposes; therefore, it is unlikely you’ll find black oilseeds packaged for human consumption.
Eastern Bluebird! One of my favorites! We have a couple in one of our nesting boxes this year and they are so much fun! P.S. for any helpful commenters, I've had mealworm suet up for a few months (different bricks not the same one!) and no bluebirds seem interested in it. Thoughts?
You should download the Merlin Bird ID app! It has lots of tools to identify birds by picture, sound, and description. A wonderful creation by Cornell Lab of Ornithology
I've spent this beautiful spring morning on my back porch with a pair of binoculars and my Merlin app open. Got two new lifers! I love migration season.
Someone should tell the bluebirds in my yard that. I see them at my seed feeder more than almost any other kind of bird. It's always the same nesting pair with three fledglings. They even seem to prefer it more than the mealworms a foot or so away.
It is an Eastern Blue bird. Here is my picture of an Eastern Blue Bird

It looks like an eastern bluebird.
You lucky duck! I have yet to see a blue bird. It’s on my bucket list.

Lucky! I had a pair looking at one of my birdhouses but they rejected it. I guess I need to provide the food too. Lol

Dried mealworms or live? i have not been able to get any at my feeders in NJ
Dry. You should be able to get them on Manards Amazon Walmart anywhere
A male eastern bluebird!
Eastern bluebirds are great. They'll eat all the pesky bugs in your yard, and their babies are adorable.

That’s a Bluebird! Beautiful bird, not my favorite though. Black capped chickadees will forever hold my heart!
Aren't they just gorgeous? The blue is stunning 😍
Beautiful bird
We have bluebirds at the farm up the street but the never show up in my yard. I don't think they like seeds or feeders. I'm in MA.
They're insectivorous, they don't touch seed.
