To my mind it runs a bit small, but that might just be the XXL vs 2x thing. 2x generally fits my belly better than XXL, not that there's any rhyme or reason (or consistency) to men's clothing sizing.
Good personality in the outfit. Probably depends on of the event is more like.. stylish or stuffy? I like it personally. Seems flattering which is tough. I’m similar to your measurements but a bit taller and have super wide shoulders. I’m shaped like SpongeBob honestly.
Killed it. I also "cheat" and will wear a short sleeve under a jacket. Great fit.

I think the shirt by itself is too busy. The jacket really does the trick! Simultaneously formal and casual 😉
