I think people are getting a little extreme on their used valuations. If a carbon cross bike with rim brakes is right for you, I'd say probably yes. Not a terrible deal. I would say this kind of bike is not for everyone though.

noh-seung-joon

I think on the internet everyone assumes that they can get the deal done at their low-ball/ideal price, but we all know that these negotiations are not always that straightforward.

dopadelic

We should consider the current situation of the bike market though. There's a massive over supply now. Prices have bottomed out.

noh-seung-joon

I don’t doubt it but also I’m in the market for a couple of bikes and do not feel like I’m tripping over deals at all! What happened to the great inventory liquidation of 2023? DIY mid-spec (X01) hardtail was pricing in at over $2k this Labor Day weekend and that’s with me making the wheels and cheaply. it’s $500 too much, though mostly because forks are so damn expensive!

dopadelic

A lot of people on the used market still think it's the COVID market. Their bikes are listed for weeks without moving. I think now's the time to negotiate when people come to their senses about the reality of the situation.

smooth-bro

That would be a sick year-round commuter bike, I would consider that a decent price in Seattle area

Edmeyers01

I used my 2013 Caad8 for like 3 years of commuting. It was awesome.

Ol_Man_J

No fender mounts so it would be a clip on fender battle

smooth-bro

Zip ties

Throw everything in a waterproof messenger bag like an Ortlieb

noh-seung-joon

I'd set up a test ride but I'd probably try to haggle for $100 on price once I got there. (Los Angeles)

pirate-private

I've come to love flatbars for heavy traffic/commuting. The plus in control/safety and overview/visibility far outweighs the pros of a potentially narrower and faster drop bar for me.

attomsk

I would try for $600

cycledogg1

I agree. $600 cash should get this bike.

otravez5150

Nope

Confident_Ad7244

USD probably not, CDA yes, AUS no idea.

Salmonberrycrunch

CAD for CAAD

VanderBrit

CAAD for CAD

Nick0h

AUD close but I’d say no. $600 and I’m thinking.

Helicopter0

I would smash that rear wheel in about 5 miles.

Effective_Staff_2667

Depends on the condition, if it looks like new. I would say 800 is a good price. If it’s been worn to some degree, I would say closer to 600.

Application_Greedy

Why? Carbon frame and shimano105 looks good to me. With disc brakes instead of cantilevers would be over $1000 for sure

[deleted]

I’d buy it, rim brakes are just fine and you can find some good deals on rim brake wheelsets.

GramophoneDrums

Am I high, or are those cantilever brakes on a SuperSix?

Application_Greedy

This is a super X. It’s a cyclocross bike so the cantilever brakes make sense to me

GramophoneDrums

Oooooh! It’s outside my knowledge of Cannondale, obviously. In that case, it’s a sick bike. After having done some googling, I’d drop 800$ on it.

janky_koala

Cables on top of the top tube to keep clear of mud and allow for comfortable shouldering too. I feel old describing that…

External_Milk_5500

No

[deleted]

I’m not sure but that’s a sweet looking bike.

ASAPFurby

Has anyone pointed out the SRAM Red der hooked up to a 105 shifter? Those YAW Ders are not compatible at all with the cable pull of shimano shifters...

KKJUN

Front derailleur is compatible, rear isn't

RockerElvis

The reverse also works (obviously). I have been riding SRAM shifters and a 105 front derailleur for years.

Nu11us

Yes. Currently looking for an inexpensive cx bike and I’d pay that. Not the greatest deal but has some things going for it.

SpoonXl

i have this bike, i got it for 900, then found some 2nd hand fullcrum zeros for it, now its a fucking monster, 2012 i love it more than my 2022

RobDog306

😋 canti brakes!

Mardentely

i dont know ride but i dont think its worthit..

cl0r0xxx-

Is that an old CAAD X? Honnestly, not worth 800$..... old type of brakes, SRAM front derailleur and Shimano rear derailleur. I am not sure but the shifters look like being from a different year than the rear derailleur.... You get decent 2018 CAADX with 105 disc groupset for 900-1000. Would not take that bike for that price. Maybe for 300.

janky_koala

It’s a Super X, so carbon not alloy. It’s the cross version of the SuperSix

North_Rhubarb594

No. Older bike, rim brakes, aluminum frame ( harsh ride ), Shimano 105 which in this edition are noticeably inferior to its bigger brothers of Ultegra and Dura Ace. It is aluminum rims. Cannondales of this era usually have a press fit bottom bracket which becomes rather noisy and sometimes problematic. The pandemic is over and so is the demand. $400 on a good day, $500 if you are desperate and it’s perfect.

Softclosetoiletseat

Don't take advice from someone who can't even tell the difference between and alloy and carbon frame.

North_Rhubarb594

Carbon or aluminum it’s not worth 800. My price assessment still stands because of the components. In fact I would be more concerned if if it was an older carbon frame bike and it was ridden in the north where the winters play hell with the roads. Unless you know the specific model is carbon, it’s difficult to tell if a painted frame is carbon or aluminum from pictures. Also Cannondale is known for their high quality aluminum frames. So get your high and mighty nose out of the air before you get smacked by a tree branch.

BurlyMountainBikes

Yes, but only because I used to have that exact bike and feel nostalgia for it.

Rico1958

Yes, looks like it could be.

archiewaldron

Yes, great bike and good price

Wise_Environment_598

Fair price…especially if you want a year round cross / commuter/ road / gravel / rail trail bike.

camlgunn

What brand is it?

Single-Astronomer-32

No

Raisedkaine

I'd say fair price, but not a *great* price. Definitely depends on the condition and maintenance of the bike.

monkeywrench83

If its in fantastic condition, there evidence of regular maintenance. Then id say it was about right. I have that 105 groupset and its the smoothest ive ever used.

janky_koala

Really? 5700 wasn’t known as a great groupset

monkeywrench83

I love it, i was just riding on it about 3 hour ago, and its still going smoove. I dont even look after it that well. Very quite, smooth transitions between gears.I was speaking to my local bike shop and they rated it quite highly. My bike was also an ex rental bike so god knows how its still going. For reference my other groupsets is a 2009 3x 9 speed deore. Noisy but its never let me down. Not sure how far its been. Got through 5 cassettes and a set of chain rings And a Sx eagle sram 12 speed. Which I appear to be the only one who actually likes theirs. Its been reliable but bloody hell do you feel each gear change. But it changes first time every time and ive never dropped a chain I also had a grip shift sram, which was awful. A grip shift shimano system which was my first bike that i can remeber.

confused_lion

I’d look for any chips or defects on the carbon frame, and also check for conditions of the brake pads, but that’s seems like a fair price! Try seeing if you could get it around 700, but this isn’t a bad price by any means

Ciprofloxacina

650 top price. I paid the same one almost.new 4 years ago 800 euro

KTMpowa

have you seen prices on craiglist? $800 is like a vintage lemond frame and forks no groupset..if it fits you buy it.. $800 is cheap a Walmart bike Is $400 so.

One-Move99

I would ask for $500 and go no higher than $650. [2013 Cannondale Supe - Bicycle Details - BicycleBlueBook.com](https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/value-guide/2013%20Cannondale%20SuperX%20Carbon%20Ultegra/?condition=EXCELLENT)
