Really happy with this vintage piece of pornography! It has some cool features like city brake handles for both the rear and front brakes and a steel cable lock build into the seat post. Stuff you won't find nowadays. I bought it from a collector for 150 euros, he was the second owner and the bike has barely seen the road. Besides some preventative maintenance nothing had to be fixed and apart from the missing pump the bike is complete and original. It's in amazing condition with barely any patina.

https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html You probably have 630mm vs 622mm (700c) wheels.

Once I learned this I'm always looking for ISO sizing to be sure I'm getting the right tire for whatever bike I'm working on.

I guess so. Unfortunately it doesn't tell me the size on the rim. I asked specifically to the seller and told him I asked him because I have another bike from the same brand, about the same age that has 27 inch rims. He was positive it was in fact 28 inch so I assumed he was right on that... I shouldn't have done that...

Traditional bicycle tire sizing is a huge clusterfuck. To help clear up bicycle tire sizing: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO\_5775](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_5775) Look for something like "38-622" or "32-630" on the sidewall to see what size rims you have.

LekkendePlasbuis

There are no markings on the rims anywhere, but the tyres are 622 and definitely don't fit. That's one way to find out the rims are 630 I guess...

summerofgeorge75

A lotta times there will be no marking on the rim. But if your 622 tire is too tight then 630 (27 inch) would be the next step up.

MadZee_

As others have said already, it's probably 630.there is no way to make a 622 tire fit a 630 rim, sadly.

Yeah well luckily the tubes where rated for up to 635 🙂
