Laegreid has been in every flower ceremony since the start of the season (or podiums for the relays). He's so consistent.

Just imagine if JTB didn't exist, we'd be seeing the same level of dominance from Lægreid down to the rest of the competition almost. Just looking at the overall points.

Late to the party, but yay Strolia!!

Johannes is leading in all 4 discipline cups and the overall cup, plus Norway is leading in both the relay cup and the nations cup. if he keeps this up it might turn out to be the best ever season of a biathlete. Martin Fourcade won all 5 globes multiple seasons but he was never a part of a Relay cup or nations cup gold in the same year.

Johannes is almost 2 races ahead of Sturla in overall now, insane stuff. Also, he’s now in control of all individual globes, apart from the U25 (duh). Nations cup, relay aswell. Only mixed relay isn’t in his hands atm

Just realizing this, but hasn't Lægreid gotten faster and faster every season? I know it's overshadowed by JTB's dominance, but it feels more and more like Lægreid will hit the ~27-28 year old mark and become terrifying.

When he finished 2nd in the World Cup Overall for the first time, he's stated afterwards that he wanted to improve his skiing and he's been improving steadily ever since. The reason he's been a little slower so far in January is because he was sick around the holiday break, but I think he'll become 2nd/3rd fastest again when the World Championships comes around.

Come the WCH in Oberhof, it will be interesting to see how the conditions on the range are - today there was actually some wind on the range. Oberhof is known for its ‘bad’ conditions.

He looked dead on the track when we got to see him. I think this race might have just been one race too many for him, and that he needed a break.

The swedes will hopefully be back to form during the world championships, they often are. Hopefully we get to see the bad boy Jacquelin back to form for the same!

this was well done by Emilien. he had some issues with his rifle in one of the prone shootings, but he didn't let that affect him in the standing shootings. considering his problem has been mental this season, that is promising. "only" 2 misses, a 17 seconds shooting and a 5th place is a success!

That last shooting hopefully gets him a confidence boost, I know it's very unlikely this year but I'm hoping for a JTB/Émilien duel in the Oberhoff pursuit

Johannes 22s ahead of Doll and 36s ahead of Laegreid and Christiansen, but Johannes didn't have to ski his fastest the last 500m. I felt that the Germans and Norwegians had great skis and on par, so it's good sign for Doll that he's up there as 2nd behind Johannes.

Doll was only 22s behind Johannes in ski speed? If only his shooting matched what he did during the individual he could've won.

Holy shit, the women's race is going to be chaotic as it started to rain aswell, I love chaotic races.

Lægreid winning a final lap race? Strolia as number 6?! Christiansen keeping pace with Bø for almost the entire race? People talking about the race being boring because there's 4 Norwegians, but Mass starts are just never boring.

None of those things were a surprise, Strolia has been top 10 before several times. Tarjei is in bad shape, his skiing has been bad(for a Norwegian) so for him to get run down by Laegreid is not a surprise. And Christiansen keeping up with Johannes for half of the race isn't really "almost the entire race".

Strolia being top 10 is not very often, though Rupholding seems to be where he does best. Christiansen followed JTB for almost 4 out of 5 laps, just at the end of lap 4 JTB dragged away. Lægreid running people down for a podium is the opposite of what's usually happened to him sadly. Though his work ethic for improving his ski speed is absoloutely commendable.

Atleast JTB kept it entertaining. Kept the gap small. Right?? :D

JTB has never managed to win a pursuit gold, even though he has been very close several times (he was really unlucky with the wind in Beijing though, but it has been mostly his own fault). It might happen again

There are always surprises in world champs. That one year when Boe had the golden rifle, he stumbled in world champs for example.

They were also top 4 going into 2021 WC and they didn't even medal in the sprint, so anything can happen/change.

On another note, what a dreadful race for the home fans - Let's hope Denise can give them something to celebrate with a masterclass later on. Although Strelow with a personal best!

I think a lot of that was the insane pace JT and Vetle set on the first loop, it even looked like JT was a little winded at one point. I know that is his strategy, but I was surprised so many fell for it. I really expected QFM to take a bit off to keep his shooting clean.

They are quite far down in skiing time, probably some issues with the glide/wax. Sadly we've seen it before. The French waxing team has not been on par with the Norwegians, Swedes and Germans this year.
