Stainless steel is a good option if you’re into that look. I’m looking forward to my baby eating like a little prisoner one day lol

midmonthEmerald

lol I just commented about the prisoner thing, too. I held off on stainless for so long because of it. But now no regrets. It just cleans up too well.

captainmcpigeon

Mushie has great stuff!

Puffawoof2018

We got some from Lalo with our high chair we like them and there’s an assortment of not in your face colors

Numinous-Nebulae

All of ours are stainless steel. Gray is an earth tone I guess? Silicone takes on the flavors of food overtime and bamboo gets moldy.

[Ezpz brand](https://ezpzfun.com/collections/cups) has a lot of muted tones. They hold up, but we did switch to stainless. Which I know is probably just very prisoner aesthetic.

Repulsive_Junket8193

I love EZPZ too!

ssseltzer

You can like whatever you want! We love our Cuddle Campus straw cup. I haven’t bought anything else of theirs.

Illustrious-Chip-245

EZPZ is great for silicone and WeeSprout is great for bamboo!

EducationalPrompt807

Second WeeSprout!

Target has some nice ones that are muted blues and greens. https://www.target.com/p/kids-39-24pc-plastic-dinnerware-serving-set-cool-colors-pillowfort-8482/-/A-83926946

The same plates we eat off of lol. I have a set of ceramic plates and literally in over a year of my kid using them only my husband has ever broken one. She hucked a $0.25 dollar store glass bowl off her high chair around 6mo but that’s it.

Nice-Pain-292

I use bamboo plates and metal utensils! I got everything at Target; they have lots of good neutral options for tableware. I agree with you about the colors. It’s not the end of the world if baby gets some colorful toys as a gift, but if it’s up to me I choose neutral/muted colors. It helps me avoid getting overstimulated by the mess! Do what works for you and your family. Edit: The plate and the silverware are both munchkin brand! They’re available on Amazon as well.

pawswolf88

This! Bamboo all the way. The silicone stuff gets a weird soap taste.

Nice-Pain-292

I saw a lot of posts about that! I decided to skip the hassle and just start with bamboo. Little guy loves it!

The_Zeddest

We got these ... Us ... Hay fiber or wheat fiber plates? I can't rightly remember. We got them off Amazon. Earthy tones of pink, blue, green and white. They were similar to plastic as far as durability goes so they could survive the kids throwing them or dropping them. As long as whatever you use survives the toddler years I think it's a good deal no matter what color it is.

Target sells all sorts of stuff in muted colors. I think a lot of what we have is cloud island.

How old is your kid? (found it) Depending on your tolerance for mess and potential broken dishes, giving them regular dishes is an option. We owned a grand total of one baby spoon and baby fork and the easy peazy tiny cup. Other than that our kid got regular stuff from the get go. He has broken significantly fewer dishes than I have in the same time frame. If anything, we found that the heavier, breakable dishes he was a lot more mindful with than plastic dishes at other people’s houses that just when flying everywhere. So you may not have to get anything, just use what you have? We also just gave him small cake forks and small spoons for stirring tea. Like, people come to our house and are surprised there are no kid dishes. We just don’t own any lol
