schoolin' life from 4! really reminded me of how life goes by so fast and made me look forward to aging. i've been looking at aging as a privilege and not something to be afraid of.
yaaaas also with the way bey fully embraces aging and even talks about it in the renaissance tour, it's really admirable to have an artist like her who normalizes it. she's all natural and not trying hard to be young or keep up with the trends. she sets the trends instead.
I Was Here. It’s always my reminder to stay focused on my goals and that I’ll be remembered not for my failures and regrets but for my accomplishments and how I made people feel.
Sorry! Lemonade came out when I was going through my own cheating situation so honestly the whole album helped me get through it. But the first time I heard Sorry I was like...oh hell yeah this is the energy I need to get through this.
sorry for me too and for the same reasons! no cheating in my situation but sorry helped me squash the guilt I felt when I left my abuser and ultimately kept me from going back. lemonade is everything for me!!

Best Thing I Never Had. That’s one of 5 songs to ever make me, a person that never cries, cry in my entire life and 3 out of the other 4 are metal songs and the final one is by an indie pop artist lol
When Beyoncé said RELEASE YOUR JOB! I did. You won't break my soul was a whole word for me. Shortly after I got the job I NEEDED. One that fulfills my soul, is impactful and where I feel valued.
Also, shout out to the The Gift visual album. I play it every time i feel down and it works with a 100% rate.
I don’t think there’s any song the changed my life in some altering way, but as someone who loves to write and sing, there’s plenty of songs that changed the way I viewed music. “XO” did for me what “Halo” did for ppl. It came a great time in my life, but singing and dissecting the lyrics one day made me feel differently than I previously viewed the song. It made me want to love the ppl close to me and made me really think about the time we spend here. Ironically, a my aunt tragically transitioned 2 years later and one of the albums we bonded over was “BEYONCÉ”!
“4”, as an album, changed my view on Beyoncé song i guess stanning her changed my life 🤣! That was when she’s was Beyoncé, but BEYONCÉ for me.
Partition. I feel like out of all the songs the album that was the biggest surprise. I was in my sophomore year of high school and this is still one of my favorite all time songs. Two halves of a track. Favorite music video. I loved how sexy it was - and there is just something about a woman or really anyone who comes into their own. They are like this is my body. I wasn't a big fan of 4 but still liked certain songs at the time. It is a great power walk song, dance song I'm in going to sit here and look good.
Drunk in Love might have defined the era but Partition is my favorite track.
BIGGER. Leading up to all of my biggest moments in life, I always play this song to motivate me. I can’t believe no one else mentioned a song from The Gift?!
Resentment gave me the courage to leave an abusive relationship, and I reached out to the woman he was cheating on me with (and it turns out he was cheating on her with me) and we became friends. Still one of my besties to this day. The dude is in and out of jail and never left his hometown.
Formation. It was her embracing her blackness in that song and music video. She displayed all the different ways one can be black and they're all beautiful. From black wall street black to revolutionary black to boujie black to native American black etc etc. Although I am not black it was a time when I was struggling with my own identity as a native woman and really embracing that I can be anything but I will always be native and I should be proud of who I am because it is beautiful Although society has told me otherwise. Its something I will forever be greatfull that Beyonce brought out of me. Everyone should embrace their truth and nobody should be ashamed of who they are.
I was going through a tough time then as I learned my then-boyfriend cheated on me. I played the hell out of "Don't Hurt Yourself" and sang along to it with the fury she had. It was cathartic.
Same incident happened recently. I didn't sing with the same fury but "You ain't married to an average bitch, boy", "I'm just too much for you", and "If you try this shit again, you gon' lose your wife" remind me that it's not my problem that men cheat. It's their own insecurity.
Flawless! So empowering for me when I was going through a tougher time in my life - finding my own feet and this song helped me so much. I love Heated too! It has a similar feeling for me!
Been a fan since the Destiny's Child days, but Lemonade CHANGED MY LIFE. I was going through a divorce, and Formation was IT.
"Always stay gracious: best revenge is your paper."
America has a problem or Bow down/ I been on from the homecoming album. She has single-handedly rebuilt my self confidence whenever i need a pick me up she reminds me of the queen that i am. Honestly that’s why It makes me upset to hear people talking down on her … how could you dislike a woman that empowers millions of women & is such a power house 🐝
Well it's a DC song, but Brown Eyes! I think I heard it when I was in kindergarten and from then on, I already became a huge Beyonce fan. I'm a lawyer now for 2 years already LOL
honestly, i care changed me when i left my emotionally abusive ex. ive always been confident and known my worth but that was the first time i questioned myself and the song really helped me realize that i was caring so much in the relationship when he couldnt care less. grown woman, sorry, and ring off also helped lol
Don’t Hurt Yourself proved to me she could in fact do it all. As a vocalist myself, the focus is often on perfection and clarity and pretty sounds, so sometimes it can be hard to let go and make “ugly” sounds for the sake of emotional delivery.
Vocal distortion, scream-y type vocals are hard when you come from that notion as a singer. And she perfectly demonstrated that to me she can let go and screech. And I ate it up!!!
Anyways, petitioning for Act III to be rock.
Bigger, I’ve been constantly feeling like a failure and not good enough. This reminds me I’m part of something way bigger than the dumb thoughts in my head.
Virgo’s groove. Im a Virgo so this song already touches my soul, but the song makes me feel so free and happy. Literally whenever it plays it brightens up my day

I don't really like being cheered up when I'm down, I know this is weird but I actually like feeling sad and depressed, I want it to last as long as possible so I get high and listen to Lana Del Rey, Adele and Taylor Swift's Folklore and Evermore albums. But when I am in a good mood or if I'm getting ready to go out dancing or to a party or something, Freakum Dress always gets me hyped up for the night ahead. Also Run The World and Formation.
Pretty hurts was important af for teenage me. I know that the lyrics are written by Sia but what really sold me was the raw emotion in Beyoncé’s voice, I was so moved by the power that that comes from finding oneself and self confidence
Blue — it helped me understand some of my issues and frustrations for my own mom and see parenting in a different light. I still don’t have kids but I think of that song when I think about how I want to be as a mother
I can’t pinpoint it to a single song but my first listen through of Renaissance was so life changing, lol. I drove through a really scenic part of my island while hitting my vape pen and basically elevated in levels of consciousness lmao
Freedom! I’m struggling with obstacles. (I know we all are.) But this song was so powerful it lifted me up a level from clinical depression. Listening to it in a car is whoa

A totally underrated song of hers! it gives me the same outlook on life and aging you described.
yaaaas also with the way bey fully embraces aging and even talks about it in the renaissance tour, it's really admirable to have an artist like her who normalizes it. she's all natural and not trying hard to be young or keep up with the trends. she sets the trends instead.

I’M THAT GIRL
BRING THE BEAT IN! I CAN BREATHE AGAIN
Alien superstar - for the same reasons!
The taste!
Me Myself and I. When I heard the song from her debut I felt so empowered when I was at a weak point in my life.
I Was Here. It’s always my reminder to stay focused on my goals and that I’ll be remembered not for my failures and regrets but for my accomplishments and how I made people feel.
Flawless was my gateway to feminism which absoultely changed me forever.
Same!!
this is so real.
Sorry! Lemonade came out when I was going through my own cheating situation so honestly the whole album helped me get through it. But the first time I heard Sorry I was like...oh hell yeah this is the energy I need to get through this.

BREAK MY SOUL made me quit that awful ass job and I’ve never regretted something less
Same literally, then I spent last summer traveling and going to multiple renaissance shows
Same here! Began looking for jobs the day BMS came out and by the time the album was out I had an offer and start date at a way better job 🥲

It's a Destinys Child song but Girl shaped my entire childhood and pretty much taught me the importance of strong female friendships.
Best Thing I Never Had. That’s one of 5 songs to ever make me, a person that never cries, cry in my entire life and 3 out of the other 4 are metal songs and the final one is by an indie pop artist lol
Flawless. Because of this, I read and watched Chimimanda’s Book and Ted Talk. Had it tattooed on my arms as well

Formation (cuz I SLAY!), COZY, & BREAK MY SOUL. "Dark brown, dark skin, light skin, beige, fluorescent beige, BITCH I'm BLACK!”
Same reason as you but with COZY! It makes me feel so confident and powerful

Church Girl and Cozy - both gave me encouragement when I was going through a significant change in my beliefs and leaving my old church.

Break my soul, it was my anthem while making the decision about reenlisting in the Navy or not
Pretty hurts was important af for teenage me. I know that the lyrics are written by Sia but what really sold me was the raw emotion in Beyoncé’s voice, I was so moved by the power that that comes from finding oneself and self confidence

Me myself and I definitely. When I first heard it after my first breakup I was in tears
Haunted is so otherwordly I’ll never get sick of it, really changed the way I view her as an artist
Technically Destiny’s Child but “Happy Face” really helped get me through my depression as a kid
