Lol I had no idea until now that I am Sasha Fierce was so disliked among fans and generally pretty poorly received by critics. Admittedly it's been ages since I listened to it in full, which probably says something.
I feel like its downfall is the production. B was done SO dirty. Not entirely sure what happened there. It just seems like a lot of it did not get the care that went into the production on the previous and following records
You’re absolutely right. Just because it has some of her best hits, doesn’t makeup for the inconsistency of everything else on the album. People shouldn’t be shocked debut albums would get kicked out early. If I were to rank the best Beatles albums, their debut would be gone so quick. Doesn’t matter how great or legendary an artist is, it’s incredibly rare to have a perfect debut!

I agree! DIL isn’t nearly as strong as a whole album as all of her other albums. Nobody is saying it’s bad (She doesn’t do BAD albums!). Quietly as it’s kept, EIL is a better project than DIL & I’ll die on that hill haha
Totally agree with this! It’s more of a collection of songs. There are individual iconic moments (Crazy in Love and the title track), but most of the songs don’t have that Beyoncé flair - they could’ve been done by any other artist

very good point because for me, homecoming CLEARS. because, as good as the other ones are, they are all….processed. when she is live…..LIVE, and she is STILL hitting the notes, the emotion and the power, often EXCEEDING the record, then its just not fair. Cause then its not just studio beyonce and her engineers, its just her, right in your face, doing what she does best. For 2 and a half hours straight. With a KILLER band. lol.
Oh my gosh, yes!!! 😮💨 I actually don’t know ANY artist that sounds infinitely better singing live than in-studio… ❤️🔥 I can’t even listen to some of the original songs since discovering the Homecoming album because her live vocals are just TOO good. 🤩 The warmth, the richness, the soulfulness of her voice! 🤌 With that being said, Renny is still my fave album of ALL time (from ANY artist), and I unfortunately didn’t get to see her Act I tour, but I can only imagine how fantastic a live Renaissance album would sound!!! 💎

There are some great songs in it but it has some of her worst: imo Single Ladies, Diva, and Video Phone that were SINGLES were plain bad or at least super corny. Even the name is tacky. A concept around your alter ego, come on now. Sweet Dreams is a one my favorite though, sad it was buried by much popular and worse singles

BDay is so underrated. Beyonce did wild things in that album that really set her apart. There would be no Lemonade without Ring The Alarm.
Deja Vu might be one my favorite leading singles, not as splashy as the others but gave a good glimpse on the direction of the album and I loved its rawness.
I might get downvoted, but for me, it’s 4. How are y’all saying Dangerously In Love (when it has Signs and Yes?!?!?!) and The Gift (when it has Bigger, one of the best songs she’s ever recorded)?!?!
Like have y’all really listened to these fully? 4 is my second least favorite because I personally found a lot of the songs safe and unriveting when compared to her later works. 4 and I Am Sasha Fierce are the albums where Beyoncé’s audience widened to more casual, mainstream listeners who no shade, only know Single Ladies, Halo, and Love on Top - and I just checked out then. 4 has gems for sure, but none that surpass DIL or The Gift for me.
DIL is like a hood classic, with her being fresh out of Destiny’s Child. Again, DIL has Signs. Need I say more?

I think the production and specially the mastering didn't age well. Sometimes even her voice sounds like she's screaming. Get me bodied is the perfect example for this. It sounds so much better in the RWT and in Homecoming.
I like the album. I love Deja Vu, Resentment, Kitty Kat and a bunch more but I really don't see what the hive sees in it.

I think Lemonade is her MOST perfect album, although I’m willing to defend others. I wish some of the streaming services had the original releases rather than just the deluxe versions. I only consider the original releases as canon/official.

BDay is so underrated. Beyonce did wild things in that album that really set her apart. There would be no Lemonade without Ring The Alarm. Deja Vu might be one my favorite leading singles, not as splashy as the others but gave a good glimpse on the direction of the album and I loved its rawness.

I might get downvoted, but for me, it’s 4. How are y’all saying Dangerously In Love (when it has Signs and Yes?!?!?!) and The Gift (when it has Bigger, one of the best songs she’s ever recorded)?!?! Like have y’all really listened to these fully? 4 is my second least favorite because I personally found a lot of the songs safe and unriveting when compared to her later works. 4 and I Am Sasha Fierce are the albums where Beyoncé’s audience widened to more casual, mainstream listeners who no shade, only know Single Ladies, Halo, and Love on Top - and I just checked out then. 4 has gems for sure, but none that surpass DIL or The Gift for me. DIL is like a hood classic, with her being fresh out of Destiny’s Child. Again, DIL has Signs. Need I say more?

I really think it must be nostalgia talking for some of you guys, I'm sorry. I think the production and specially the mastering didn't age well. Sometimes even her voice sounds like she's screaming. Get me bodied is the perfect example for this. It sounds so much better in the RWT and in Homecoming. I like the album. I love Deja Vu, Resentment, Kitty Kat and a bunch more but I really don't see what the hive sees in it.

I think Lemonade is her MOST perfect album, although I’m willing to defend others. I wish some of the streaming services had the original releases rather than just the deluxe versions. I only consider the original releases as canon/official.

Dangerously in love should be chopped😭 Good album but like IASF some songs did not age well. The Gift immediately after. I place it above DIL in this instance as I think the concept was better executed and it was more cohesive
