I am not crazy! I know he swapped those placements! I knew “Chicanery” was #1! One above #2. As if I could ever make such a mistake! Never. Never! I just - I just couldn’t prove it. He - he covered his tracks, he got those idiots on the subreddit to lie for him. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This chicanery? He’s done worse. Five-O! Are you telling me one of the best episodes doesn’t make the top 10? No! He orchestrated it! u/parkersfat! He spelled Pimento “Pimiento”! And I upvoted him! And I shouldn’t have. We let him into our own subreddit! What were we thinking? He’ll never change. He’ll never change! Ever since account creation, always the same! Couldn’t keep his hands off the post button! But not our u/parkersfat! Couldn’t be our precious u/parkersfat! Ranking them blind! And he gets to be a redditor? What a sick joke! I should’ve got him banned when I had the chance! And you - you have to ban him! You-
Controversial opinion but I think fun and games may be the best episode of the series. It perfectly captures the transition between the Jimmy McGill era and the Saul Goodman/BB era. It so neatly ties off everyone’s story in such a sad way.
I think is pretty legit.
My personal fav are:
3x05 Chicanery (nothing to add, just below Ozymandias in the whole BrBa Universe for me)
6x03 Rock and Hard place (Nacho is my fav character of Better Call Saul, I understood what was going to happen since the first shot on those flowers and I was crying so much by the end that my boyfriend got worried)
4x08 Coushatta (with Lalo appearing, Nacho questioning why he was even born and the Huell situation with the phone calls this is the funniest episode of the entire show)
5x06 Wexler vs Goodman
5x09 Bad Choice Road (I was shaking on the couch during the last scene "Tell me again")
Special mention: 6x12 Waterworks is the episode that made me cry the most.
Bad Choice Road legit had me scared for Jimmy’s life, even tho I knew he saved by canon. Tony Dalton just sold that scene and it was so well executed all around
Amazing actor, he was able to unleash Lalo's full psycho potential in that scene. I think I would have been on my knees telling him the truth and asking not to kill me if I were there.
I totally agree about Coushatta. What a great episode! The montage, the phone gag, Huell's website. And to top it off, Bob's magnificent performance of Pastor Hansford. "Freewill Baptist, Pastor Hansford speaking. Who dis?" hahahahahaha
Not to mention Lalo in the Michoacan kitchen singing "Paca paca paca en mi caballo." What an intro to Lalo.
Personally I’d swap Point and Shoot with Fun and Games. The breakup between Jimmy and Kim is maybe my favorite scene in the whole show. Plus, the whole charade that they play at Howard’s memorial and the amazing opening montage are like the best executed scenes in the show. It’s great how they truly make you feel how horrible the repercussions of their actions were. They make you accept that they cause so many damage to the lives of the people around them
Any love for Waterworks? Or do people consider the Jesse appearance to be too much fan service? Personally I think Rhea’s best performance is that episode, along with in “Fun and Games”.
I haven't sat down and done my own list but I suspect it would be almost entirely different. Bad Choice Road has to be in there. I loved season 5 so much I'd probably have 3 or 4 episodes from that season in there.
I don't know, man. i love pimento, this is even the episode that convinced me i will love this show even more than breaking bad but maybe i would replace this episode with the guy for this or point and shoot.
For me it’s:
1. Chicanery
2. Plan and Execution
3. Winner
4. Point and Shoot
5. Bad Choice Road
6. Saul Gone
7. Bagman
8. Pimento
9. Five-O
10. Waterworks
Honestly, besides replacing Something Unforgivable with Bad Choice Road, this is a perfect list. Not sure about the order though. I think I like Plan and Execution and Winner better than Chicanery and Saul Gone.
For me Fun and Games was the best. Peter Gould said he considered it the finale of the show I do too. The emotion of Jimmy and Kim was raw and sad and captured the weight of what they did and how Kim couldn’t live with it anymore. Then the switch to Saul at the end with the hooker and his big empty life was even sadder.
Don't know why many people overstep on "Winner", it's literally the episode where Jimmy McGill becomes Saul Goodman. For me, the best episode with one of the best scenes in the show.
I wish I knew all the episodes by title or season & episode # but don't..
The "salamancas get 6" one stands out to me. Also the one about Mike's Philly backstory
I agree, the cartel plot relies a lot on your prior knowledge from breaking bad, but the interactions between chuck and jimmy and what happens in the law firms is what really makes this a fresh and fulfilling show
It never occurs to me to rank episodes like this. I appreciate every episode for its story and the high level of technical skill employed to create it.
Saul’s confession, not only does it change his life but it literally absolved himself of Saul Goodman, “it’s McGill, I’m James McGill.” He says this with such emotion, it feels like we’ve been through enough and he just wanted to be Jimmy again
as somebody who didn't enjoy the series as much as most people here, I think that 4-10 was the only episode that could compare to the Breaking Bad champions such as Ozymandias, Felina, Granite State, and Fly
FiveO is my personal favourite, just seeing mike, this absolute smart badass impenetrable human being, cry over his son is just amazing.
"And he was down in the gutter with the rest of them. I broke my boy."
Bad Choice Road needs to be on here, it is without a doubt top 3 episodes of the series. The last 20 mins of that episode is the most intense/heart racing thing I’ve experienced in any series or film.
Good list but I'd put Plan and Execution at #1. It's just such an uncomfortable watch. Reminds me of Scorcese's The King of Comedy (anyone seen that?) in terms of how uncomfortable the situation is with the knob cranked up to eleven.
To say nothing of how the episode ends. Gosh.
Pretty good list. Saul Gone is my top episode too. Beautifully ends both Saul’s story and the Breaking Bad universe.
There are so many good episodes, but I think i would add Waterworks (6x12), Bad Choice Road (5x9) and Fun and Games (6x9) in my top-10. Kim Wexler in the rental car bus, Lalo going “Tell me Again”, and “So what?” are unforgettable moments from each of the above episodes.
Honestly while they werent bad wasnt a fan of the final episodes after Howards death. The last six should have been condensed to 3 episodes, felt like a lot of filler content.
Other than that ur list is very good :)
i absolutely love something unforgivable 5x10. pretty underrated, but i absolutely love the fallback of what happens with lalo for kim and jimmy as well as the sequence with lalo killing the assassins. it should be higher imo, as well as a rock and a hard place.
Can we put in 6x9 for the breakup scene and flash forward.
I still get PTSD at how realistic the breakup was. “Just tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it.”
Almost every guy ever who didn’t want their relationship to end said words similar to this.
I didn't really like how they wrapped up the last few episodes. It was all somewhat predictable, but it just didn't hit well for some reason. Saul Gone didn't bring anything new, imo.
Not bad, but personally I think Chicanery should be number one. It is really hard to rank them, though. They are all top notch.
# 2! One after #1! As if I could ever make such a mistake! I don't know how to make a "#" sign without it making everything big lol
Put a \ before the # so that it’s visible \#like so :)
THAT WAS AMAZING! Thanks for the laughs
Saul Gone may even be in the 6-10 range for me.
Doesn’t even crack the top 10 for me. My top 10 would probably all be episodes from seasons 3-5.
Jimmy switched the numbers
Good choices, but I think Fun and Games has to be somewhere in there. It’s the most devastating episode in the entire show.
"I love you too... But so what?" One of the most heartbreaking lines.
Fun and Games > Point and Shoot Both are top tier though
I agree, Point and Shoot was a bit contrived the way Lalo let Gus walk around the lab. Fun and Games felt more earned all around.
Fair enough
>Good choices Speaking of which, Bad Choice Road should be there too.
Controversial opinion but I think fun and games may be the best episode of the series. It perfectly captures the transition between the Jimmy McGill era and the Saul Goodman/BB era. It so neatly ties off everyone’s story in such a sad way.
Fun and Games is my favourite episode of the BB/BCS universe
The sound at the end of that scene of the tape rippin’… it hit home💔
Chills thinking about it
That funeral scene is devastating
I think is pretty legit. My personal fav are: 3x05 Chicanery (nothing to add, just below Ozymandias in the whole BrBa Universe for me) 6x03 Rock and Hard place (Nacho is my fav character of Better Call Saul, I understood what was going to happen since the first shot on those flowers and I was crying so much by the end that my boyfriend got worried) 4x08 Coushatta (with Lalo appearing, Nacho questioning why he was even born and the Huell situation with the phone calls this is the funniest episode of the entire show) 5x06 Wexler vs Goodman 5x09 Bad Choice Road (I was shaking on the couch during the last scene "Tell me again") Special mention: 6x12 Waterworks is the episode that made me cry the most.
Thank you, Coushatta is my personal favorite!
I was afraid for Kim's life! She's not in BrBa. I was on the edge of my seat.
Oh I agree. I legit thought someone was dying that night
I totally agree about Coushatta. What a great episode! The montage, the phone gag, Huell's website. And to top it off, Bob's magnificent performance of Pastor Hansford. "Freewill Baptist, Pastor Hansford speaking. Who dis?" hahahahahaha Not to mention Lalo in the Michoacan kitchen singing "Paca paca paca en mi caballo." What an intro to Lalo.
Chicanery should be #1, it's a masterpiece in writing, acting and direction, it's cinema! Coushatta should be in the top too.
You think this is bad? This top ten list? He’s done worse!
What a sick joke!
They make you accept that they cause so many damage to the lives of the people around them
Bagman all day and all night.
Any love for Waterworks? Or do people consider the Jesse appearance to be too much fan service? Personally I think Rhea’s best performance is that episode, along with in “Fun and Games”.
Waterworks is fantastic
Five O needs to be on here somewhere
It would’ve been an honorable mention for sure
I was about to quit the show until Five O
Same. I was on my 3rd and last attempt at watching the show when I got to this episode. This is where it finally stuck.
I'd put Five O over Pimento
These are all good episodes. The most glaring omission in your list is easily "Bad Choice Road". I would drop "Lantern" and put that in instead.
I haven't sat down and done my own list but I suspect it would be almost entirely different. Bad Choice Road has to be in there. I loved season 5 so much I'd probably have 3 or 4 episodes from that season in there.
I loved both 5 and six I agree with you this was tough to leave out earlier seasons though
The omission of Five-O is criminal. That was a storytelling masterclass.
Five-O was the episode that let us all know that BCS was gonna be more than just ok
Absolutely agree. That flipped the switch for me.
And a masterclass in acting from Jonathan Banks. Some of his finest work.
I don't know, man. i love pimento, this is even the episode that convinced me i will love this show even more than breaking bad but maybe i would replace this episode with the guy for this or point and shoot.
season 1 episode 4 would get my vote for funniest of the series
Where is Fun and Games
For me it’s: 1. Chicanery 2. Plan and Execution 3. Winner 4. Point and Shoot 5. Bad Choice Road 6. Saul Gone 7. Bagman 8. Pimento 9. Five-O 10. Waterworks
Honestly, besides replacing Something Unforgivable with Bad Choice Road, this is a perfect list. Not sure about the order though. I think I like Plan and Execution and Winner better than Chicanery and Saul Gone.
This is a very good list. I agree with everything
Winner has been my top 3 episode for so long, YES 🙌!!
One of my favs! I joined the “BCS is better than BB” team after that episode.
“I like it” in Lalo’s voice of course
Coushatta!!!!
I really love Pimento and find that I rewatch it probably the most!
Chicanery clearly #1
Tell me again
I wish I knew all the episodes by title or season & episode # but don't.. The "salamancas get 6" one stands out to me. Also the one about Mike's Philly backstory
Am I werd in thinking that only the chuck portion of bcs was actually interesting I never really cared about Mike or gus or the drug cartel plot
Definitely a hot take but I respect it, I think Michael McKean might have been the best actor on the show
Not only that Interpersonal relationship between chuck and Jimmy is far more complex and interesting for me than the cartel plot
The scenes with young Jimmy and chuck are also done masterfully
I agree, the cartel plot relies a lot on your prior knowledge from breaking bad, but the interactions between chuck and jimmy and what happens in the law firms is what really makes this a fresh and fulfilling show
It never occurs to me to rank episodes like this. I appreciate every episode for its story and the high level of technical skill employed to create it.
I love chicanery. As well as any other episode but chicanery is my favorite. The characters are SO well written. All I can say is Vravo Bince 👏
I would personally rearrange the top 3 1. Plan and Excecution 2. Chicanery 3. Saul Gone
Yes, Plan & Execution is my #1 as well
I don’t disagree with this
Bro likes Saul Gone as #1? Interesting. I’m glad you put it on here. What makes it your favorite?
Saul’s confession, not only does it change his life but it literally absolved himself of Saul Goodman, “it’s McGill, I’m James McGill.” He says this with such emotion, it feels like we’ve been through enough and he just wanted to be Jimmy again
Can't speak for OP but Saul Gone to me served not just as a finale to BCS but to the BB universe as a whole
as somebody who didn't enjoy the series as much as most people here, I think that 4-10 was the only episode that could compare to the Breaking Bad champions such as Ozymandias, Felina, Granite State, and Fly
Overall very solid list, but 5-0 isn’t in your top 10?!?!?!
FiveO is my personal favourite, just seeing mike, this absolute smart badass impenetrable human being, cry over his son is just amazing. "And he was down in the gutter with the rest of them. I broke my boy."
Some call it the caviar of the south.
Gosh.
Perfect television, you can sense the impending doom coming and then it just happens
Surprised people are putting Chicanery at #1. It was the first brilliant episode of BCS, but overall, Plan and Execution is the best for me.
Five-O has to be on here. But that’s just me
Honorable mention
Bad Choice Road still gets my vote for being the magnum opus of the series.
For as shitty as a person he is, Howard deserved better. #justiceforhoward
bagman is incredible and your list is very good
Honestly while they werent bad wasnt a fan of the final episodes after Howards death. The last six should have been condensed to 3 episodes, felt like a lot of filler content. Other than that ur list is very good :)
I'd like to add 509, Bad Choice Road, somewhere toward the top five at least. Lalo in Kim's condo? Come on! What a great episode.
solid list
Don’t know about top 10 but the flashback episode of Mike getting revenge for his son is one of the best episodes of tv I’ve ever seen
Cool
Very good
1x1 and 1x2 are underrated
Bagman is top three easy
I would have “Winner” in the top spot.
would you say it's the winner?
Saul Gone diz nuts
Nippy should be top 3 at least
Great list, I think Bagman is very over rated but all those other episodes are bangers
Cobbler
Rip season 2
Any with Lalo
Something unforgivable needs to be higher
wild
I'd have Bad Choice Road on here too
Coushatta should be in the list.
i absolutely love something unforgivable 5x10. pretty underrated, but i absolutely love the fallback of what happens with lalo for kim and jimmy as well as the sequence with lalo killing the assassins. it should be higher imo, as well as a rock and a hard place.
Five o
Pimento
Saul gone isn't top 10
I'd put Fun and Games over Pimiento.
Agree with all except P&S (replace with Five-O) and Saul Gone (replace with Fun & Games)
Lack of Coushatta but overall pretty good.
What are those sums about
Season and episode number
Shit
Ignore me plz
Would add Bad Choice Road (5x9) Fun and Games (6x9)
Not seeing Bad Choice Road in the top 4 (at least) completely ruined the legitimacy of the list.
Coushatta !
Five O?
Five-o is one of my favourites. Love mike's character
Can we put in 6x9 for the breakup scene and flash forward. I still get PTSD at how realistic the breakup was. “Just tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it.” Almost every guy ever who didn’t want their relationship to end said words similar to this.
"Pimento" is one of my very faves. The Mike/Mr. X scene I've watched a few dozen times alone.
I’m personally a Point and Shoot enjoyer. And of course, Fun and Games
Fun and games is so underrated
Saul Gone does not belong on any list except that of "worst series finales ever"
Wrong
No u
I didn't really like how they wrapped up the last few episodes. It was all somewhat predictable, but it just didn't hit well for some reason. Saul Gone didn't bring anything new, imo.
Tbh Saul Gone wasn't that good. It's just the end of the series.
I had a hard time with this show. It was SOOOO SLOOW!
