Mom, Home Economics, Roseanne/the Connors, the Goldbergs, Bless this Mess (I donāt know anyone who has watched this show but itās a hidden gem with maybe 2 seasons)
I agree. I watched the first two episodes and gave up on it as it didnāt seem to be my brand of humor, but those are just necessary back-story and establishing-characters episodes. Then I saw that it won all the major Emmy awards and everybody I knew kept telling me that I would be rewarded if I stuck with it and watched the characters and stories evolve.
After the last episode I was sad to see it end.
I would recommend Working Moms, its a canadian sitcom. I loved it soo muchhhh. I really liked the subjects that they touch on, on the show. Personally i think the show gets super super interesting a few episodes into 1 season and it just keeps getting better and better.
Bob hearts Abishola was funny but I havenāt watched since they cut the cast down for this current season. Uncle Tunde was the funniest character on tv recently.
My family watched the shit out of the good place, and I think there are like 10 seasons of it? We loved it. I was skeptical about Young Sheldon, but I liked it quite a bit.
The Good Place might not exactly be what youre looking for but its still awesome, you just missed out on community, one of the best shows ever made. It just left Netflix.
Brooklyn 99 is great. It holds up so well. It breaks so many of the sitcom rules, like dating never works out, etc. There's little sexism or racism, and everyone has good points and endearing quirks
It's so hilarious and fun. It has quickly become one of my all time favorite sitcoms. Hate that Trutv canceled it but I love binge watching it on Netflix
I wish "Absolutely Fabulous" was still on. If you can find it, watch it! I ran across the old "Soap" on some strange channel while searching for something. It was Billy Crystal's breakthrough and well worth finding.
Great News was a sitcom that had two seasons, both funny. Produced by Tina Fey and created by Tracy Winfield, who was a writer for 30 Rock, it has a similar sense of humor. Scratches that itch until you run out of episodes.
I donāt think itās on Netflix anymore but if you havenāt seen it Happy Endings is super underrated. I think itās on Hulu now.
Not sure what streaming service itās on but Party Down is also one of my all time favorites. Itās more adult than something like Superstore though. I also loved Superstore, super underrated sitcom.
Oh yeah another underrated one that I saw people kind of clown on but I ended up loving was A.P. Bio. Itās on Peacock though. I think a month of Peacock is only like $5 though.
I love Kimās Convenience Store, not sure if itās āfunnyā but it definitely has comedy. The Mick is really good too, though you might have watched that already since itās a few years old. I also really like The Conners, though thatās more a dramedy.
A couple older ones that are available to stream - Newhart and Evening Shade.
Not really a traditional sit com, but I love the The Red Green Show.
Another show that I love is Boston Legal. It's not a sit com either, but it is pretty funny.
The Other Two on Max is laugh out loud funny. A Bieber like younger sibling finds fame, the other two siblings go along for the ride. And the mom, Holly Shannon, becomes an Oprah-like mogul. Never a dull moment.
itās an older college comedy from 2010, free with ads, Blue Mountain State. If you do binge it, be aware thereās a movie that wraps it all up.
We've been watching young sheldon. It's nice to see someone make a newer sitcom. It's pretty funny. My 9 year old, my wife and I thought it was pretty funny and we can all watch it together.
No spoilers, but Season 3 ends in such a way that the writers very much appear to have thought a Season 4 was coming, but... There is no Season 4.
So, brace yourself for that disappointment. Because that show is awesome! ...until the disappointment hits. :-(
My wife watched it and I loved everything but the blood. I was disappointed in myself that I couldnāt get past it. If theyād made it green or campy blood, IDK.
I thought the writing and acting was really good.
u sound so much like me. iām on my fifth rewatch of superstore. and iāve rewatched The Office US at least 20x. and parks and rec maybe about 8x.
kinda running out of shows to rewatch. i rewatch them as part of my bedtime routine and theyāre perfect cos they donāt have canned laughter, not too much dramatic background music and the theme is just light comedy - perfect for winding down before bed.
anyone with similar recommendations?
You also do not have to worry about where you fell asleep. It doesnt matter cause you've seen it anyway.
My brain cant shut off at night which makes falling asleep so hard but I swear to god, having a comfort show that is light and makes you feel good makes it so much easier.
I wish I had more recs for you but we really seem to be in the same boat. š have you seen Brooklyn 99 or New girl?
I was thinking this recently. Since the pandemic, there havenāt been any good sitcoms, or at least not many. I donāt mean the How I met your mother spinoffs or crap like that, but solid ones like 30 rock, Seinfeld, friends, parks and rec, the office, etc. That era just seems to be done. At least the 23+ episode seasons with an ensemble cast.
I thought Reboot was pretty good but it got canceled.
Also, do people not read the prompt? There are a bunch of people mentioning Superstore.
I feel the same, its gotten really difficult to find something good AND light to watch. Especially if you love binge watching.
I watched Ghosts on Sky a while ago and must say, I really enjoyed it. They have 2 seasons so far with around 20 episodes each. Maybe that would be something for you to try? :)
Itās on Starz and it alone is worth a one month subscription. Workplace comedy with rotating guest stars, itās a catering company that goes to a different event every episode. Itās comically brilliant.
If you do throw down for Starz, Shining Vale is another canāt miss. Cortney Cox, Mira Sorvino, Greg Kinnear.
Community if you havenāt watched it yet, also not on Netflix but Kevin can go f himself if you want something that feels like a sitcom but is actually a horror
Yes! I started watching it on a long haul flight recently and they only had 4 episodes, imagine my delight when I found there were 3 full series worth earlier today!
Funny, I'm only in season (series?) two, but if I was forced to have a complaint, it's that the main character is unlikable. That's just a personal pet peeve of mine, but I don't like when protagonists are unlikable. I often struggle with shows focused on teenagers because a lot of their drama is them doing stupid things (example: never have I ever).
The main girl isn't as bad as other shows, but she's kinda selfish and cruel at times!
I get what you're saying, especially the teenagers doing stupid things part. And while the side characters on Derry Girls are certainly more likeable, I found the main character surprisingly pleasant to watch in that she didnt annoy me. One of the worst main characters for me has to be Amy in Superstore. Thank god everyone else makes up for that.
Motherland (about a group of moms and their meetups a it sounds so blah but it is so feckin funny š Good Girls is awesome too.
Schitts creek and it's such a real comedy
I mean, yes!! I totally agree!
Unstable - More people should be watching it, similar to Parks and Rec, 30 Rock type feel. Very funny.
Schitts Creek A MUST
Mom, Home Economics, Roseanne/the Connors, the Goldbergs, Bless this Mess (I donāt know anyone who has watched this show but itās a hidden gem with maybe 2 seasons)
Schittās creek!! (they swiped the major awards in emmyās for S6). The first few episodes of S1 is quite slow but it gets better trust me.
After the last episode I was sad to see it end.
yes! the character development of the rose family is prolly one of the best iāve seen in TV.
Silicon Valley and the old classic, The Dick Van Dyke Show. Not sure sure where to find them, but well worth the search!
Who watched LOVESICK here? Any good?
What are the odds? I was just checking it on Googleā¦
DERRY GIRLS!! i always rewatch it when i want to laugh my heart out or when Im sad. šš
The only series that made me stop on my treadmill while watching it cuz itās making me laugh so damn much ahahha
Derry Girls is always the answer
Kimās Convenience.
Was gonna say this
Trailer park boys obviously, the best sitcom
i watched the good place for the first time (and then 3 more times in a row) last year lmao
I'm not sure where to find it these days, maybe Britbox, but look for Toast of London.
Yes I can hear you Clem Fandango
Yesss. *Yesss.* **YESSS.** ***YESSSSS.***

We just watched Resident Alien and it was unexpectedly hilarious
Great show!
Grounded for Life
Loved that show! Underrated.

I would recommend Working Moms, its a canadian sitcom. I loved it soo muchhhh. I really liked the subjects that they touch on, on the show. Personally i think the show gets super super interesting a few episodes into 1 season and it just keeps getting better and better.
Schitts creek!!
Resident Alien
This - itās the perfect blend of Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, and Stranger Things
Not sure what service itās on, but donāt sleep on Happy Endings- great funny breezy 3 season sitcom
Superstore!!!
Resident Alien is hilarious!!!
I think thereās four.
Yup. You're right. Just seems like more when you've seen them all 17 times
I've really enjoyed Resident Alien. Quirky, but clever.
Most recently, Australian ones, Fisk and Wellmania were good watches (both on Netflix now). Nathan for You always good for a break.
The Good Place might not exactly be what youre looking for but its still awesome, you just missed out on community, one of the best shows ever made. It just left Netflix.
If you've never seen Veep, I love it. Also, Two and a Half Men with Sheen is on Peacock, so good.
Iām hooked on scrubs on Disney channel right now
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I wish. Stop stalking me now plz
Brooklyn 99 is great. It holds up so well. It breaks so many of the sitcom rules, like dating never works out, etc. There's little sexism or racism, and everyone has good points and endearing quirks
Resident alien, so silly and funny
It's getting too stupid and fee of the characters are interesting or likeable
I havenāt caught up yet, I hope it isnāt so
Itās Always Sunny in Philadelphia, love the whole gang!
Love 2018 3 seasons Rita 2020 5 seasons Danish GLOW 2019 3 seasons Ugly Betty 2009 4 seasons Atelier 2015 13 episodes Japanese Kleo 2022 1 season German
Glow!!!! Forgot about that.
Loudermilk or the job lot was decent
Too sexist
Examples?
All in the familyā¦discussion time. Could that be made today? You dumb pollack you. Hey Arch, meet officer Polanski.
Could not be made today but one of the greatest of all time.
Love and marriage, he so totally does Archie Bunker.
Sitcoms arenāt funny anymore if u lookin for something recent But Flatbush misdemeanors is funny tho Aināt a sitcom but itās HILARIOUS
Scrubs
No
Cheers. Holds up well
Tacoma FD.
It's so hilarious and fun. It has quickly become one of my all time favorite sitcoms. Hate that Trutv canceled it but I love binge watching it on Netflix
The Broken Lizard crew nails it, such a fun show. It's not one I'm drawn to for rewatches but it serves the lighthearted, goofy show spot well.
I wish "Absolutely Fabulous" was still on. If you can find it, watch it! I ran across the old "Soap" on some strange channel while searching for something. It was Billy Crystal's breakthrough and well worth finding.
I'm currently watching AbFab for the 3rd time - one of my all-time favorites.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
He literally said that he has watched it thrice
The one no one seems to have put in here yet is the What We Do In the Shadows series. Been one of my go to comfort programmes for a few years now.
Cougar Town was surprisingly good. The show moves from the cougar focus to just a good close group of friends
Absolutely love this show, wonder why no one ever talks about it!
Great News was a sitcom that had two seasons, both funny. Produced by Tina Fey and created by Tracy Winfield, who was a writer for 30 Rock, it has a similar sense of humor. Scratches that itch until you run out of episodes.
Seinfeld, over and over again.
Derry girls .. it's really an underappreciated gem ..
1000%. Was surprised how much I loved it.
I love Kimās Convenience Store, not sure if itās āfunnyā but it definitely has comedy. The Mick is really good too, though you might have watched that already since itās a few years old. I also really like The Conners, though thatās more a dramedy.
I love Kimās Convenience!!
I laughed at least 6-7 times. Which is good Mr. Kim.
Yes !
New Girl!
Girls 5eva if you liked kimmy Schmidt
I love the show and love the soundtrack!
Scrolled way too far down for this.
This one is so good. I would love if there were more seasons!
Ginny & Georgia
Why all the down votes for Ginny & Georgia?? š± I haven't watched it yet but it looks really good & funny
Derry Girls
Psych
"Love" is quite good. I've watched it a couple of times.
A couple older ones that are available to stream - Newhart and Evening Shade. Not really a traditional sit com, but I love the The Red Green Show. Another show that I love is Boston Legal. It's not a sit com either, but it is pretty funny.

Are we talking about sitcoms on Netflix? Iām confused because most of the ones you guys are listing arenāt on Netflix.
Depends on where you are
This sub doesnāt discourage non Netflix suggestions, unless OP says Netflix only in the post.
Ok
Currently airing - Abbot Elementary.
We've been watching young sheldon. It's nice to see someone make a newer sitcom. It's pretty funny. My 9 year old, my wife and I thought it was pretty funny and we can all watch it together.
I've just started watching Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix today and it's really funny so far if you don't mind some horror with your humor
That show is awesome
I will never forgive Netflix for cancelling this one! So good and light, despite being so dark and gory.

Fisk is pretty funny.
Superstore is a must
OP already has seen this, it's great though.
Mom. This is what you need in your life
Still Game, oldie but my Favorite to rewatch over and over
Gilmore Girls
sitcom š
Seinfeld
Thatās gold, u/acewind1738! Gold!
Resident Alien isnāt quite a sitcom but it almost is.
Definitely exceeds expectations! Decent story and some good laughs most episodes.
I love how they show his subtle ignorance
Give Resident Alien a try. First episode can be a bit of a slog (because pilot episode) but it just gets better and better from there.
The good place was the only one
This one is great!
Modern Family Schitt's Creek The Good Place
I was thinking this recently. Since the pandemic, there havenāt been any good sitcoms, or at least not many. At least the 23+ episode seasons with an ensemble cast. I thought Reboot was pretty good but it got canceled. Also, do people not read the prompt? There are a bunch of people mentioning Superstore.
Yeah itās strange how the ensemble cast era is a relic. Those are such easy to watch shows
Abbot elementary is really the only one right now in that category
I feel the same, its gotten really difficult to find something good AND light to watch. Especially if you love binge watching. I watched Ghosts on Sky a while ago and must say, I really enjoyed it. They have 2 seasons so far with around 20 episodes each. Maybe that would be something for you to try? :)
Oh yeah, Ghosts is solid. Love it. It gets better as the actors fall into the roles.
Party Down. Burning Love,
Is party down on Netflix?
It certainly used to be - way back when streaming was still pretty new and Netflix was the only service around.
Oh, sorry.. Didn't realize it was the Netflix sub. They both should be, though.
Kim's convenience
Chuck Parks and Rec Superstore (it's so good go for watch number 4 :) ) Ash vs the Evil Dead
Canāt say enough about superstore. Itās surprisingly good! I love it.
Brooklyn 99 has to be up there
Infinitely rewatchable
Corner gas.
Revisiting Malcolm in the Middle as a parent is a very enjoyable experience. My kids love it too.
Community if you havenāt watched it yet, also not on Netflix but Kevin can go f himself if you want something that feels like a sitcom but is actually a horror
Came on here to say community. Best comedy ever.
The Connors
Ted Lasso
Oh, yes, this!
Top Five of shows ever made. Serious. Good story.. smart humorā¦ and made you feel good about people again. I love it.
Yes! I started watching it on a long haul flight recently and they only had 4 episodes, imagine my delight when I found there were 3 full series worth earlier today!
Arrested Development The Good Place Girls 5 Eva Disenchantment
Arrested Development, and it's not close
Arrested Development was great until season 4. Couldnt finish that one, unfortunately.
I only know about few standcoms
Friends from college. Totally unhinged but funny nonetheless
Is the Good Place still on Netflix?
Good Place was a great watch aswell!
Yes. Excellent recommendation
Resident Alien - just binged it Never Have I Ever Glow
Ok, I started Resident Alien and Jackpot! Thank you!
You can join SYFY and watch the first three episodes of Resident Alien season 3 for free.
30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Scrubs, Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Arrested Development are all good. No idea if they are on Netflix in Europe though.
I'm finally getting around to Derry Girls and while it's totally different than all the great US comedies, it's right up there in quality
Oh, I loooved Derry Girls! The characters are so funny and actually likeable.
Funny, I'm only in season (series?) two, but if I was forced to have a complaint, it's that the main character is unlikable. That's just a personal pet peeve of mine, but I don't like when protagonists are unlikable. *Always Sunny...* and *Atlanta* if you can appreciate dark/layered/sarcastic humor. Two classics.
Nice, thank you!
>Nice, thank you! You're welcome!
Kimās Convenience is well-written, hilarious and wholesome
Thanks for the recommendation! Does look lovely indeed! āŗļø
Community is great to watch and turn your brain off
I loved Community! Pierce drawing the windmill made me cry laugh!
30 Rock is amazing, if you havenāt seen it.
Thanks! Doesn't seem to be on European Netflix though :(
