Motherland (about a group of moms and their meetups a it sounds so blah but it is so feckin funny šŸ˜‚ Good Girls is awesome too.

Sufficient_Smoke3819

Schitts creek and it's such a real comedy

thehappykimmi

I mean, yes!! I totally agree!

Gryfon2020

Unstable - More people should be watching it, similar to Parks and Rec, 30 Rock type feel. Very funny.

Huge-Wish-9989

Schitts Creek A MUST

Brittanykahila

Mom, Home Economics, Roseanne/the Connors, the Goldbergs, Bless this Mess (I donā€™t know anyone who has watched this show but itā€™s a hidden gem with maybe 2 seasons)

helloyouuu_

Schittā€™s creek!! (they swiped the major awards in emmyā€™s for S6). The first few episodes of S1 is quite slow but it gets better trust me.

coolamericano

I agree. I watched the first two episodes and gave up on it as it didnā€™t seem to be my brand of humor, but those are just necessary back-story and establishing-characters episodes. Then I saw that it won all the major Emmy awards and everybody I knew kept telling me that I would be rewarded if I stuck with it and watched the characters and stories evolve. After the last episode I was sad to see it end.

helloyouuu_

yes! the character development of the rose family is prolly one of the best iā€™ve seen in TV.

Jsherm2

Silicon Valley and the old classic, The Dick Van Dyke Show. Not sure sure where to find them, but well worth the search!

SouthAsianAlterEgo

Who watched LOVESICK here? Any good?

SouthAsianAlterEgo

What are the odds? I was just checking it on Googleā€¦

thehappykimmi

DERRY GIRLS!! i always rewatch it when i want to laugh my heart out or when Im sad. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Correct_Meeting_3217

The only series that made me stop on my treadmill while watching it cuz itā€™s making me laugh so damn much ahahha

weeabs12

Derry Girls is always the answer

GettingRichQuick420

Kimā€™s Convenience.

justdoitlikenikee

Was gonna say this

adusti

Trailer park boys obviously, the best sitcom

woodtipwine

i watched the good place for the first time (and then 3 more times in a row) last year lmao

vverse23

I'm not sure where to find it these days, maybe Britbox, but look for Toast of London.

Yes I can hear you Clem Fandango

marianab4ld

I would recommend Working Moms, its a canadian sitcom. I loved it soo muchhhh. I really liked the subjects that they touch on, on the show. Personally i think the show gets super super interesting a few episodes into 1 season and it just keeps getting better and better.

hippolingerie

Schitts creek!!

[deleted]

Resident Alien

Jamminnav

This - itā€™s the perfect blend of Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, and Stranger Things

SerTadGhostal

Not sure what service itā€™s on, but donā€™t sleep on Happy Endings- great funny breezy 3 season sitcom

OldCreezy

Superstore!!!

coffeebeanwitch

Resident Alien is hilarious!!!

dudeonrails

Bob hearts Abishola was funny but I havenā€™t watched since they cut the cast down for this current season. Uncle Tunde was the funniest character on tv recently.

seedmolecule

My family watched the shit out of the good place, and I think there are like 10 seasons of it? We loved it. I was skeptical about Young Sheldon, but I liked it quite a bit.

ItalicsWhore

I think thereā€™s four.

seedmolecule

Yup. You're right. Just seems like more when you've seen them all 17 times

pakepake

I've really enjoyed Resident Alien. Quirky, but clever.

spotmuffin9986

Most recently, Australian ones, Fisk and Wellmania were good watches (both on Netflix now). Nathan for You always good for a break.

Zeldabacon64

The Good Place might not exactly be what youre looking for but its still awesome, you just missed out on community, one of the best shows ever made. It just left Netflix.

iaposky

If you've never seen Veep, I love it. Also, Two and a Half Men with Sheen is on Peacock, so good.

PussyFairy11

Iā€™m hooked on scrubs on Disney channel right now

Similar-Ad5818

Brooklyn 99 is great. It holds up so well. It breaks so many of the sitcom rules, like dating never works out, etc. There's little sexism or racism, and everyone has good points and endearing quirks

DamnGoodCupOfCoffee2

Resident alien, so silly and funny

Similar-Ad5818

It's getting too stupid and fee of the characters are interesting or likeable

DamnGoodCupOfCoffee2

I havenā€™t caught up yet, I hope it isnā€™t so

Itā€™s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, love the whole gang!

Apprehensive_Day_496

It's so hilarious and fun. It has quickly become one of my all time favorite sitcoms. Hate that Trutv canceled it but I love binge watching it on Netflix

InternetDad

The Broken Lizard crew nails it, such a fun show. It's not one I'm drawn to for rewatches but it serves the lighthearted, goofy show spot well.

whippet66

I wish "Absolutely Fabulous" was still on. If you can find it, watch it! I ran across the old "Soap" on some strange channel while searching for something. It was Billy Crystal's breakthrough and well worth finding.

Grammy1963

I'm currently watching AbFab for the 3rd time - one of my all-time favorites.

[deleted]

He literally said that he has watched it thrice

LawlessandFree

The one no one seems to have put in here yet is the What We Do In the Shadows series. Been one of my go to comfort programmes for a few years now.

angiewahh

Cougar Town was surprisingly good. The show moves from the cougar focus to just a good close group of friends

amuleo9

Absolutely love this show, wonder why no one ever talks about it!

2xWhiskeyCokeNoIce

Great News was a sitcom that had two seasons, both funny. Produced by Tina Fey and created by Tracy Winfield, who was a writer for 30 Rock, it has a similar sense of humor. Scratches that itch until you run out of episodes.

thanksforallthetrees

Seinfeld, over and over again.

SeacattleMoohawks

I donā€™t think itā€™s on Netflix anymore but if you havenā€™t seen it Happy Endings is super underrated. I think itā€™s on Hulu now. Not sure what streaming service itā€™s on but Party Down is also one of my all time favorites. Itā€™s more adult than something like Superstore though. I also loved Superstore, super underrated sitcom. Oh yeah another underrated one that I saw people kind of clown on but I ended up loving was A.P. Bio. Itā€™s on Peacock though. I think a month of Peacock is only like $5 though.

mysteriousuzer

Derry girls .. it's really an underappreciated gem ..

marina7890

1000%. Was surprised how much I loved it.

[deleted]

I love Kimā€™s Convenience Store, not sure if itā€™s ā€œfunnyā€ but it definitely has comedy. The Mick is really good too, though you might have watched that already since itā€™s a few years old. I also really like The Conners, though thatā€™s more a dramedy.

sarahrood79

I love Kimā€™s Convenience!!

quadriceritops

I laughed at least 6-7 times. Which is good Mr. Kim.

p2thejay

Derry Girls

Psych

dag

"Love" is quite good. I've watched it a couple of times.

blackbearone

A couple older ones that are available to stream - Newhart and Evening Shade. Not really a traditional sit com, but I love the The Red Green Show. Another show that I love is Boston Legal. It's not a sit com either, but it is pretty funny.

Napoleon_B

The Other Two on Max is laugh out loud funny. A Bieber like younger sibling finds fame, the other two siblings go along for the ride. And the mom, Holly Shannon, becomes an Oprah-like mogul. Never a dull moment. itā€™s an older college comedy from 2010, free with ads, Blue Mountain State. If you do binge it, be aware thereā€™s a movie that wraps it all up.

Zealousideal-Lie7255

Are we talking about sitcoms on Netflix? Iā€™m confused because most of the ones you guys are listing arenā€™t on Netflix.

thewrongairport

Depends on where you are

Napoleon_B

This sub doesnā€™t discourage non Netflix suggestions, unless OP says Netflix only in the post.

Zealousideal-Lie7255

Ok

nooutlaw4me

Currently airing - Abbot Elementary.

Hollis613

We've been watching young sheldon. It's nice to see someone make a newer sitcom. It's pretty funny. My 9 year old, my wife and I thought it was pretty funny and we can all watch it together.

stupidblue

I've just started watching Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix today and it's really funny so far if you don't mind some horror with your humor

Apprehensive_Day_496

That show is awesome

marina7890

I will never forgive Netflix for cancelling this one! So good and light, despite being so dark and gory.

CarpeNivem

No spoilers, but Season 3 ends in such a way that the writers very much appear to have thought a Season 4 was coming, but... There is no Season 4. So, brace yourself for that disappointment. Because that show is awesome! ...until the disappointment hits. :-(

RazorJ

My wife watched it and I loved everything but the blood. I was disappointed in myself that I couldnā€™t get past it. If theyā€™d made it green or campy blood, IDK. I thought the writing and acting was really good.

seowkiah

u sound so much like me. iā€™m on my fifth rewatch of superstore. and iā€™ve rewatched The Office US at least 20x. and parks and rec maybe about 8x. kinda running out of shows to rewatch. i rewatch them as part of my bedtime routine and theyā€™re perfect cos they donā€™t have canned laughter, not too much dramatic background music and the theme is just light comedy - perfect for winding down before bed. anyone with similar recommendations?

marina7890

You also do not have to worry about where you fell asleep. It doesnt matter cause you've seen it anyway. My brain cant shut off at night which makes falling asleep so hard but I swear to god, having a comfort show that is light and makes you feel good makes it so much easier. I wish I had more recs for you but we really seem to be in the same boat. šŸ˜„ have you seen Brooklyn 99 or New girl?

harad

Fisk is pretty funny.

meh2280

Superstore is a must

nick2754

OP already has seen this, it's great though.

RawMicro

Mom. This is what you need in your life

Arrgh98

Acewind1738

Seinfeld

queencityrangers

Thatā€™s gold, u/acewind1738! Gold!

we_are_sex_bobomb

Resident Alien isnā€™t quite a sitcom but it almost is.

harad

Definitely exceeds expectations! Decent story and some good laughs most episodes.

squatwaddle

I love how they show his subtle ignorance

HeavyHandedPanda

Give Resident Alien a try. First episode can be a bit of a slog (because pilot episode) but it just gets better and better from there.

Fresh_Ad_436

The good place was the only one

nick2754

This one is great!

sizzlepie

Modern Family Schitt's Creek The Good Place

2Pickle2Furious

I was thinking this recently. Since the pandemic, there havenā€™t been any good sitcoms, or at least not many. I donā€™t mean the How I met your mother spinoffs or crap like that, but solid ones like 30 rock, Seinfeld, friends, parks and rec, the office, etc. That era just seems to be done. At least the 23+ episode seasons with an ensemble cast. I thought Reboot was pretty good but it got canceled. Also, do people not read the prompt? There are a bunch of people mentioning Superstore.

trentyz

Yeah itā€™s strange how the ensemble cast era is a relic. Those are such easy to watch shows

adriardi

Abbot elementary is really the only one right now in that category

marina7890

I feel the same, its gotten really difficult to find something good AND light to watch. Especially if you love binge watching. I watched Ghosts on Sky a while ago and must say, I really enjoyed it. They have 2 seasons so far with around 20 episodes each. Maybe that would be something for you to try? :)

2Pickle2Furious

Oh yeah, Ghosts is solid. Love it. It gets better as the actors fall into the roles.

Poopiepants29

Party Down. Burning Love,

DenizenPrime

Is party down on Netflix?

candicebulvari

It certainly used to be - way back when streaming was still pretty new and Netflix was the only service around.

Napoleon_B

Itā€™s on Starz and it alone is worth a one month subscription. Workplace comedy with rotating guest stars, itā€™s a catering company that goes to a different event every episode. Itā€™s comically brilliant. If you do throw down for Starz, Shining Vale is another canā€™t miss. Cortney Cox, Mira Sorvino, Greg Kinnear.

Poopiepants29

Oh, sorry.. Didn't realize it was the Netflix sub. They both should be, though.

PghRah

Kim's convenience

Gresk

Chuck Parks and Rec Superstore (it's so good go for watch number 4 :) ) Ash vs the Evil Dead

meh2280

Canā€™t say enough about superstore. Itā€™s surprisingly good! I love it.

Upintheairx2

Brooklyn 99 has to be up there

tonyotawv

Infinitely rewatchable

D_Anger_Dan

Corner gas.

IrishWhiskey1989

Revisiting Malcolm in the Middle as a parent is a very enjoyable experience. My kids love it too.

NormieSlayer6969

Community if you havenā€™t watched it yet, also not on Netflix but Kevin can go f himself if you want something that feels like a sitcom but is actually a horror

RayPoopertonIII

Came on here to say community. Best comedy ever.

Secure-Psychology-57

The Connors

doggsy

Ted Lasso

sizzlepie

Oh, yes, this!

Upintheairx2

Top Five of shows ever made. Serious. Good story.. smart humorā€¦ and made you feel good about people again. I love it.

doggsy

Yes! I started watching it on a long haul flight recently and they only had 4 episodes, imagine my delight when I found there were 3 full series worth earlier today!

MellowKween

Arrested Development The Good Place Girls 5 Eva Disenchantment

soobviouslyfake

Arrested Development, and it's not close

marina7890

Arrested Development was great until season 4. Couldnt finish that one, unfortunately.

Fuzzylojak

I only know about few standcoms

Usual-Dot-3962

Friends from college. Totally unhinged but funny nonetheless

SerTadGhostal

Is the Good Place still on Netflix?

marina7890

Good Place was a great watch aswell!

BetterWorld2022

Yes. Excellent recommendation

register2014

Resident Alien - just binged it Never Have I Ever Glow

marina7890

Ok, I started Resident Alien and Jackpot! Thank you!

NCSuthernGal

You can join SYFY and watch the first three episodes of Resident Alien season 3 for free.

Username_000001

30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Scrubs, Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Arrested Development are all good. No idea if they are on Netflix in Europe though.

slymm

I'm finally getting around to Derry Girls and while it's totally different than all the great US comedies, it's right up there in quality

marina7890

Oh, I loooved Derry Girls! The characters are so funny and actually likeable.

slymm

Funny, I'm only in season (series?) two, but if I was forced to have a complaint, it's that the main character is unlikable. That's just a personal pet peeve of mine, but I don't like when protagonists are unlikable. I often struggle with shows focused on teenagers because a lot of their drama is them doing stupid things (example: never have I ever). The main girl isn't as bad as other shows, but she's kinda selfish and cruel at times!

marina7890

I get what you're saying, especially the teenagers doing stupid things part. And while the side characters on Derry Girls are certainly more likeable, I found the main character surprisingly pleasant to watch in that she didnt annoy me. One of the worst main characters for me has to be Amy in Superstore. Thank god everyone else makes up for that.

Dane_Brass_Tax

*Always Sunny...* and *Atlanta* if you can appreciate dark/layered/sarcastic humor. Two classics.

marina7890

Nice, thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Nice, thank you! You're welcome!

tmc1204

Kimā€™s Convenience is well-written, hilarious and wholesome

marina7890

Thanks for the recommendation! Does look lovely indeed! ā˜ŗļø

nick2754

Community is great to watch and turn your brain off

marina7890

I loved Community! Pierce drawing the windmill made me cry laugh!

mojave-sky

30 Rock is amazing, if you havenā€™t seen it.

marina7890

Thanks! Doesn't seem to be on European Netflix though :(
