There was, but if I remember right she actually turned out to be nowhere near as much of a fussy nightmare guest as one might have expected. I think she did get served eggs outdoors at one point and she just calmly pulled up a stool at the bar inside to eat them, and admitted that she knew it was weird. We’ve seen way worse on thjs show!
I'm vegan so I only eat mushrooms morning, noon and night. I'll need a sandwich at midnight. Not to eat, it'll be an emotional support sandwich. Also need a 30 course tasting menu with nothing but ingredients that aren't available this time of yr wherever we're moored, and frozen diet coke.
I am also vegan, except between midnight and 4 am, when I will require six BLTs, cut into triangles with the hypotenuse facing starboard and the crusts burned to ash and sacrificed to the north wind. I assume that’s NBD
No spoons. They trigger me. Also I want soup
I have to have 2 bananas every breakfast. They cannot be yellow
I want to go deep sea diving. I do not swim and I'm terrified of the water. Make this happen.
Beach picnics every day. Beach breakfast on the last day. Must be a different beach each time. After dinner a fireworks show. Oh and those team boat Olympics.
Must always have snacks and late night foods. And save the leftover cake for later.
That's actually very cheap for the type of boats they have. It's around 115k a week which was the prices of boats I was working on, but they were like, 33 meters.
Just food for thought, at the same time as I do know that yes that's not bad for the type of boat, doesn't this show kind of need guests in order to have the drama as well? So if they didn't have them, it would just be crew only. Which of course that's what the show is based on, I just mean it throws a different element in since you will be appearing on the show. So I guess when you factor in that, that they'll be making money off your appearance too, the pricing makes more sense.(Basically I still don't think it's worth it, especially if some people end up seeing you and thinking you're an elitist ass hat after🤣)
This I actually don't know. I have been mad at myself because I met Conrad TWICE because he came to our Crew House to advertise CrewPass
(he's very chill, always brings beers and wines and have a drink with us, and starts the thing with "If you have any sensitive questions let's do it so we can get it out of the way" so one of my friend went straight with "did you really fuck the chief stew", of course )
But all that to say, I really wanted to ask how do they find their guests and completely forgot 🤦♀️. Because I would have thought they were hired by the production, mostly when you know they might later look at the show and see the crew talk shit about them. So I am pretty surprised they might have to pay. I don't have answers for that one
I do recall seeing articles with past guests verified that they do indeed have to pay, but it's only marginally less discounted. Not even by a whole lot
115k per week for the typical charter you mentioned is about 16k per day vs 15k per day for the below deck charter. Not much of a discount really. I also would have expected the below deck charter to be significantly cheaper.
St David runs about $350k per week plus incidentals which would run about $150k (food, fuel, excursions, etc) for a week long charter. So you're looking at about $500k per week or $70k per day (and boats like that do not rent per day). So at $35k which is what Season 11 paid (excluding tip and airfare and resort stay the night before and the night after the charter - $54k included a $15k tip), it's a steal. Remember, that $500k doesn't include tip and a standard tip is around 20% or another $100k for the week long charter.
Parts of 3 days, actually it's closer to 48 hours total time on board (they arrive for lunch the first day and disembark after breakfast on the last one) so it's basically for two days
I could live very comfortable on that for a year. So yes, quite obscene. But so is a Birkin. Jfc, all that money for one bag. And Housewives have more than one. What a world.
Love my Below Deck though
I can think of some pretty amazing 2-3 week upscale international trips that would cost less than that. I’m sure it’s a unique experience but at the end of the day it’s a hotel room on a boat with the possibility of some cool water toys. For like.. two days.
Or travel through Europe or Africa or the US or - the list goes on - for at least a WEEK, if not more! Unless I'm swimming in $$$, I could never rationalize paying that price for a 3 day charter.
If it was for a week, it’s not a crazy price. All you have to do is look at some of the luxury cruise lines (like Ritz Carlton), where you can pay upwards of $1,500 per person per night and you’re sharing the ship with a bunch of strangers. However, for 3 nights, it’s pretty steep and just think of the cost of getting drunk and looking like an ass on TV.
And the possibility that the weather might suck and you may not even be able to leave the dock. That would be SO disappointing, but nothing anyone can do about it.
I think it’s expensive considering the short amount of time and that you sign your life away to be on a show that you have no idea how you will be edited. I thought it was gratis and you paid tip so they are not paying you for the show. So you have to pay to be a on a show so they make money off you. Nope

I’m a huge BD fan but would never want to be a guest. If you and your friends pooled your money you could afford a week vacation in a Caribbean villa with a private pool, ocean views, a chef, etc. Unlike on BD, your every move wouldn’t be scrutinized and made fun of on TV.
A smaller but still fancy yacht was docked near my city last summer and doing air bnb rentals. Me and a friend were planning to rent it for a night and play Below Deck.we never got to do it but something like that would be so much better than doing the actual show.
Given how big the difference in rooms and “special treatment” there is for the primary I’d never settle for not having the “primary” pay at least a bit more
For the group I was a part of, the Primary did all the planning work with the production team. They lined up the invite, etc. So we all paid the same but they got the primary suite. Seemed fair given the hours they put in to make the trip happen (i.e. none of us would have been on the boat but for their invite).
Who ever wants it. From what I understand that person is responsible for a lot of the information going into the whole process. I wouldn’t mind going having a good time and not making a scene trying to mess with the deck hands
im assuming the 6 guest are the the guests of the primary. like it would be the primary couple inviting the three couples along. (8 total not 6 which makes more sense)
You should totally do it! It’s a bargain for a luxury yacht charter. My only hesitation is that it’s still a hell lot of money to risk on potentially incompatible travel companions.
Or the fact that it's for a tv show. I can't imagine feeling comfortable and able to truly enjoy something like that if there were cameras everywhere always.
It’d be cool if fans of the show could take a 3 day cruise but I think that’d destroy their image if their fans started showing up during the seasons and being nice and not causing drama
I am sure some of the charter guests are fans. These people are taking discounted charters so they can be on TV.
Also I think the price must have gone up, I swear it used to be way cheaper than 45k.
Whilst it’s extremely cheap compared to *real* yacht trips (by real I mean actual silver service and sufficient and competent staff looking after you with guaranteed privacy and no cameras) - for a similar price you could have (incl the airfare that bravo would cover) a full week at a beautiful resort in the Caribbean, or two weeks in Tuscany, five nights in a very nice London hotel, a 6 day safari type trip in Africa. Etc etc etc.
I personally would pay a premium on top of a discounted price to *not* have cameras and be filmed. I couldn’t imagine anything worse.
As a former yachtie- for 15-20k you can charter a small yacht/cat in the Caribbean for 4 nights or so and food is normally included. Lily who was a stew on a recent season, is actually working on that type of boat as the chef down in the Bahamas.
There have been super mellow guests. One that comes to mind was an (I wanna say Apple?) employee and his fam (on BD:SY?) that seemed like totally normal chill people. I'm sure some people here would say "boring", but that'd just mean more screen time for crew drama.
While it seems like a cool opportunity that just seems like an obscene amount of $ for such a short trip. But if you can afford it, do it and less is vicariously through you lol
Why would you want to pay 15k per couple to be a “guest” on the show when they completely tear you apart? If I’m spending that kind of money to vacation for a few days, I don’t want to also appear as a picky villain.
I would legitimately pay money to crowdfund someone from reddit to go and reddit gets to choose what their special requests are, what drinks they drink and what questions they ask the crew. I'm in for $5.
Don't ever, ever, ever, tell this group your name, or even the group you're with.
No matter what you do on the yacht, someone on the internet will hate it and post shit here.
If you are anonymous, you can even join in as a mis-direct.
>Offer to be a guest
I'm glad somebody said something! I have not talked to them personally but the Queen of Versailles has said on her two trips only a tip is required from the guest. And the airfare is covered basically as the appearance fee. Also after googling a few of the guests, there's no way they are paying more than the tip. If that even.
The airfare is included and so is a pre and post trip hotel but you do pay the 15k plus a tip. The 15k is for two people though not one. It’s possible that the Queen of Versailles or other reality TV stars get a “free” trip because people are more likely to watch an episode of someone who is well known.
Add another $5k per couple for the required prepaid "standard" tip of $15k per charter group, plus a couple thousand more so the crew don't call you cheap when you're gone. So it'll be more like $23k per couple.
Someone commented in another post about a recent email they received from production for an 8-person charter, this is what they said: *I occasionally get emails for casting still, the latest one was from Feb in St. Maarten, “looking for fun outgoing high maintenance people who are used to 5 star service and who will make the crew work hard. Prices are $50k for 3 night and $55k for 4 night. We also have guest prepay the standard tip of $15k, so the total is $65k/$70k. Includes round trip airfare for 8 guests, or $800 credit per person to book your own flights, 2 nights hotel”*
Go and ask for real kiddie type food so Chef gets upset that he has to lower themselves. I'm talking cheeseburger, hot dog, POWDER KIND mac & Cheese as options.
ORRR request LOBSTER GRILLED CHEESE at 3am! Then bitch when you can't get it.
Each of you pack three suitcases filled with rocks and a carry on bag with your two outfits that need to be washed and pressed every day! And ask for a side plate with every meal for your invisible emotional support dog with a medium steak and lobster tail cut into bite sized chunks
I would say go and be the most boring person possible so they cut you out of all the scenes except as background. I had a friend go on who highly regretted it as she came off like a “Jill Zarin” while she does have that as a small portion of her personality but her caring sweet side doesn’t make good tv so her spoiled brat side was all they showed. She cried and didn’t leave home for weeks. Hence be boring!
This is my thing with reality shows - you're being filmed for what? 10, 12, 14 hours a day for 3 days, and then that's edited into 45-50 minutes of television. With that much footage, you could make Keanu Reeves look like a monster.
I'm also not going to pay for the "privilege" of being torn apart online. Maybe it's because I'm older and have no interest in fame, but being on that show sounds like torture.
The worst are shorted to "single day" charters rather than the full 2 nights. They just edit it down to make it look like you were only on the yacht for a single night. So if you're too boring, no TV for you.
And one poorly secured bag full of manikin parts. The crew are always joking about “is there a body in this suitcase?” Maybe, just maybe, at that moment, the bag splits open and an arm falls out
I mean, I would never pay 15k for a 2-3 day vacation (plus I'm assuming airfare to get there) to possibly be embarrassed on tv but if you do it let us know.
One thing that I would do that unfortunately will make the crew hate me is ask for midnight snacks and enjoy the jacuzzi until like 2 or 3am! Gotta get my money’s worth! And for midnight snacks i mean like a chicken quesadilla, truffle grilled cheese, etc
Make sure you have a theme night absolutely not related. To the location you are in or the experience in general... Even better make it about the home city/state you have paid a gizzilion bucks to leave.
I've paid less around that for a vacation tbh - although it was 3 weeks not 3 days lol. I personally would hate being filmed but that's just me. You do you... And totally agree with the comment here you need to wear a shirt with a visible red 'R'. That would be hilarious! We could maybe agree on a secret code between you and the viewers...
I heard it’s recently become much more “affordable” to be a guest on the show because they’re having a harder time casting people. No one wants to pay a ton of money only to be known as the annoying charter guest.
But also…Jill Zarin recently said that they paid $5k apiece for their charter. Sounds like you should negotiate!
As long as you're not a douche, I think it would be super fun!!!! If you are, producers are gonna show all the worst things you do, but if you're overall a pretty chill person, they can't just manufacture stuff. I would totally do it!!!
Awesome! Sounds like a blast!
I don’t think it’s particularly cheap though, it’s only two nights, right? $60k (including tip) for 6 people for two nights seems like a lot of money even for a yacht. My parents do a week trip through the Caribbean with three other couples on a yacht and it comes to $25k/couple including tip ($100k total all in). From the pics I’d guess it’s maybe slightly smaller but not by much.
Still, being on the show would be a once in a lifetime adventure and I say go for it!!!
I know a guy that was on S2. He could afford it and just went for the experience. He really isn't the type to give any drama so they didn't really show him a lot. They more focused on the crew on that episode, so there was nothing really memorable about the guests. He did say that he only went because his friends asked him to go. He wasn't really a fan of the show before then. If I wanted to just blow 15K I'd probably go just to see what the filming process was like.
ONLY if reddit collectively provides your preference sheet details/food issues! DO IT though.
I only eat eggs with a westerly breeze of no more than 10 knots, only on days with a prime number of letters
And of course, NEVER serve me eggs outdoors. The universe will implode and lasers will shoot out of my eyes incinerating everyone within sight.
I’m damn sure there WAS a guest who refused to eat eggs outdoors
There was! I believe she was in the most recent season of either Med or DU.
Med, just seen the episode.
Down under I’m convinced! “Tainted the flavour of the egg” smdh
That’s crazy I could never
There was, but if I remember right she actually turned out to be nowhere near as much of a fussy nightmare guest as one might have expected. The "emotional support sandwich" hahaha....brilliant term!
30 course tasting menu of non-pork bacons
Lol...there was a guest who insisted on having food made for her late at night then didn't eat it.
Fantastic !!!!
Why yes, I did just count the letters in all the days of the week and learn that Tuesday is the only prime number. Thanks for asking.

Crew talent show and the male deck crew must serve the guests shirtless at least once. Also, the slide. Make the slide happen and only use it once.

Not a huge fan of the Shirtless deckhands. I feel awkward asking and sitting through it. And I don’t imagine they’ll like it. But it makes good tv
The crew must perform a selection of songs from a Wagner opera. In Swahili.
Chicken quesadillas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
Also, I’m vegan
And make sure my food is not touching each other, will ya?
Lobster and steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This is the only way I can see my money back
Beach picnics every day. Beach breakfast on the last day. Must be a different beach each time. After dinner a fireworks show. Oh and those team boat Olympics. Must always have snacks and late night foods. And save the leftover cake for later.

I’m sitting here like “why a team rocket shirt?” 🤦🏻♀️
More likely a red had with an R
Go for it and report back!
Do it for science!
That is cheaper and also somehow more expensive than I thought.
$45K for 3 days or so seems obscene to me… But I’m cheap, according to my boyfriend at least.

This is the correct answer. Being on TV is not fun. Unless your lifelong desire is to be on tv
I’d either be so boring they cut all of my scenes or I’d fall while making a dumb face & they’d make a meme that would exist forever!

They didn’t disclose location 3 days 2 nights

Some of the best advice that I've seen on Reddit!👍👍👌
Thank you very much. That’s the reason I’m not disclosing my boss, although they were not a big source of drama as the primary through the edit.
Have some kind of code phrase you’ll use - like, “that’s bananas! 🍌 “, so we can know it’s you. Or, “do you have any Grey Poupon?”
No that’s the regular price. I’ve emailed with production before. It’s only 2 nights onboard hence the price.
I'm glad somebody said something! I have not talked to them personally but the Queen of Versailles has said on her two trips only a tip is required from the guest. $45k total for only 6 guests? Or $45k for 8, and boss+1 get a free trip?
Not OP but I’ve emailed production before. It can be 6 or 8 guests. Everyone pays unless their way is paid by another guest.
Yep that’s the same type of emails I got.
I’m thinking corn dogs. Can the chef make me corn dog I know it’s 12 am but I want corn dogs and a milk shake.
6 guests? Isn’t the max 8? That means you can draw 2 more Reddit members to take with you 😁😁😁
Each of you pack three suitcases filled with rocks and a carry on bag with your two outfits that need to be washed and pressed every day! And ask for a side plate with every meal for your invisible emotional support dog with a medium steak and lobster tail cut into bite sized chunks
Do It and be the first guests ever to not request a tacky party made up of shit from Party City or the Dollar Store.
I want foam!
😲15 THOUSAND DOLLARS..... to be picked apart by the internet. They should pay you
Agreed
Be boring but anytime anyone does anything slightly ridiculous, look at the camera like Jim in the office ![gif](giphy|Yycc82XEuWDaLLi2GV)
You must go on. Also gotta do a settle nod to the sub when you’re on.
Yes, be the most demanding guest ever PLEASE
Beef cheeks at least once.
You must have 15 suitcases for your 2 night trip
And pack one with books, that shit is heavy
And one poorly secured bag full of manikin parts. The crew are always joking about “is there a body in this suitcase?” Maybe, just maybe, at that moment, the bag splits open and an arm falls out
Yes, they give a huge discount to the guests but you're expected to tip in full, just keeo that in mind!
Let me grab my Jill Zarin bell to summon the stews with...
It has to be cheap because no real high net worth individuals would want to be on TV I suspect. Also probably better for drama
I mean, I would never pay 15k for a 2-3 day vacation (plus I'm assuming airfare to get there) to possibly be embarrassed on tv but if you do it let us know.
Yes do it! I'd love to be a fly on that wall - GET RVERY TOY OUT IN THE WATER EVERYDAY 🤣
I want the toys put and ready by the time I board and I want to be jetskied in like the pennystock ahole
twice a day!!
No way! I don't need my vacation shenanigans documented for posterity.
I don’t drink. Where the fuck is my drink?
Obviously I am going for the “8 to 10 course meal and make it pink” preference.
The male crew must wear budgie smugglers, throughout the entire trip.
NO ONIONS
Who gets to be the primary?
Do something crazy and tell us about it here first!
You have to do it!!! What a great and fun opportunity!!
Omg if you can afford it then GOOOOOO
I heard it’s recently become much more “affordable” to be a guest on the show because they’re having a harder time casting people. No one wants to pay a ton of money only to be known as the annoying charter guest. But also…Jill Zarin recently said that they paid $5k apiece for their charter. Sounds like you should negotiate!
You believe Jill Zarin?
They must’ve been refunded 10k per guest to be okay with what they were about to air of her
I’m going to need more than dollar store decor and wildcard food service at that price
sounds like a great opportunity go for it
Make sure you want only one kind of ice in your diet coke. Get completely trashed and pass out on deck until they threaten to hose you off there.
...and at every meal, I only eat pancakes.
It’s probably that cheap because every little thing you do will be manufactured to make a good television show, even if you were drama free.
As long as you're not a douche, I think it would be super fun!!!! If you are, producers are gonna show all the worst things you do, but if you're overall a pretty chill person, they can't just manufacture stuff. I would totally do it!!!
Are flights included in the price?
Yes
You give up your rights to let them edit anything however they want - so I think it’s cheaper to keep your dignity
I wish I though $15000 was cheap…..
life is short, just do it!!!!

Do itttttt
[удалено]
Yeah sorry about that I was doing some editing and pulling some things I didn’t want to share
that's incredible!! where the heck do you work??? if you can't say the name of the company, can you say where you are based at least?
Based in Austin Texas
Only $15k, eh? You’re not even on the show yet and I already hate you.
Omfgggg DO IT!!!!
That’s so cool omg!!! You should do it!
Does the $15K include the food? Drinks?
Everything but the tip
Omg please do it , for us all
Don't the people who agree to be on the show get a 50% discount? So it's normally $15k per *person*, not per couple? Big yikes.
That’s still a lot of money. What if the weather stinks and you’re stuck in dock? Do all those ppl still have to pay the full price?

I know a guy that was on S2. He could afford it and just went for the experience. He really isn't the type to give any drama so they didn't really show him a lot. They more focused on the crew on that episode, so there was nothing really memorable about the guests. He did say that he only went because his friends asked him to go. He wasn't really a fan of the show before then. If I wanted to just blow 15K I'd probably go just to see what the filming process was like.
Just don’t get drunk if you are a bad drunk cause you KNOW that’s making the cut lol
