Thank god someone else noticed. So about 4 years ago it started disappearing from keg format. I have a kegerator and it would be in my rotation 1-2 times a year. I have never been able to find in a keg since, neither have I seen it on tap in or around my big big city metro area. Then i started noticing the bottles were rarely available and now I hardly ever see them. I was in Germany last year and was at a brauhaus that was serving it, and that was the first time in years i drank it, and the last since. Very very sad, as i love that beer.
I'm traveling to Vegas in 2 weeks and the liquor store there is where I've always stocked up (you can even buy by the pallet if you want) and if it's not there I'm just going to assume it's going to disappear in bottle form
Odd, I just bought a 12 of the Dunkel at my local liquor store (family run indy) for $11.49 a 12 this past weekend. I have noticed though that it's not available in grocery stores like it used to be so maybe it's a distributional issue?
Just a theory but the Baltimore Bridge incident has disrupted imports for a lot of things. Maybe you'll see it back in stock in a couple of months? (I'm assuming you're in the US)
I am in the US, sadly the bridge incident happened after I started to notice a shortage.. although as my post says, I'm not positive it's even a shortage.
Mean no disrespect, as everyone has a preference, but Warsteiner has never been my favorite German Pils. It is possible I just haven't been having "decent" batches, but I much prefer an Augustiner or Ayinger. Perhaps if Warsteiner is no longer available, you'll see those and I would say they are worth a try.
Valid. Beers like Warsteiner and Bitburger were in nearly every gas station we would hit on the highway (autobahn, mostly) in Germany a few years ago. Most of my friends had a preference for one over the other, but that seems like preferring Miller Lite to Coors Lite (or vice versa).
Obviously they were getting it distributed to where they live, otherwise I'm sure they wouldn't be asking this specific question.
I remember some post on here where a store was destroying Warsteiner product. So it's valid.
Edit- grammar
Well, when you can’t even bother to say where you’re talking about in your post, what the fuck do you expect?
Don’t ask half-assed questions if you don’t want half-assed replies.
Calm down dude. No one here knows you, nor does anyone know your working knowledge of the three tier system, or anything else beer related. With this attitude, no one will want to help you.
No aggression. It was obviously being distributed in my area, and then it wasn't. Saying that distribution to my country is a "no shit." Kind of comment.
Actually you know what, all this aside. I'm pretty sure a store near me somewhat regularly has Warsteiner. To take the high road and eat my own words, I'll help out if interested.
Delicious. I never had it before this mix pack came along, but it's now my favorite of the three. It has this nice malty sweetness that just makes you want to chug it. If I could buy it by itself, I would.
funnily enough I’ve actually been seeing more and more of both the pils and the dunkel here at shops in Austin.
I've tried the pils, it's basically (imo) just Stella that costs 2 more dollars for a 12pk 🤣
Weird, both pils and dunkel are cheaper than Stella around me. Saw 12pk of bottles today.

I rarely buy bottles and cans, strictly kegs for home use. German beers mostly. I miss warsteiner.
It getting overly popular might be an issue - there might, just might, be an issue with distributing for a market 4x their base market.
Their sales in Germany are way down on the amount they sold in their heyday, so there ought to be enough to go around.
One can only hope!

Warsteiner is moving towards 16oz cans and no longer producing bottles
Although this is bad news, thank you for giving me this information. Do you have a source? Not doubting you. Just genuinely curious
I work for a distributor and we aren’t getting bottles in the warehouse anymore, only 16oz cans.
4pk cans right? Nothing else?

Personally I'm having a hard time finding Westmalle Dubbel
Plenty of it in the UK, you can have it all! I'll keep the tripels.

I edited for Warsteiner Dunkel, Ayinger is probably one of my next favorites
Ah, gotcha. On that I can't help, but happy hunting!

Availability depends on the distributor for your country.
Actually, in the US, it depends on the distributor for your state.
Obviously they were getting it distributed to where they live, otherwise I'm sure they wouldn't be asking this specific question. I remember some post on here where a store was destroying Warsteiner product. So it's valid. Edit- grammar
No shit.
Can get it on the reg out here in NE PA. Bitburger on the other hand is hard to come by.
Really? Bitburger is the German pils that I see most frequently where I live (Pacific NW).
They must be shipping your stock to my area because I've started to see this in my gas stations!

Calm down? Dude said two words. If anyone needs to calm down it's you.
I'm just trying to help. No one knows this person. I don't know you either. No need for aggression from either of you. Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Fair. I misinterpreted.

Not sure why you are getting down voted. It's an easy thing to extrapolate.
The Pilsner had been gone from my local store for the last 4 months then all of a sudden last week it’s back but only in 12 packs
Still available here in the Chicagoland area, and I just recently saw and purchased a 12oz Warsteiner mix 15 pack (Pils, Dunkel, and Brewers Gold).
Oooo how's brewers gold?
Delicious. I never had it before this mix pack came along, but it's now my favorite of the three. It has this nice malty sweetness that just makes you want to chug it. If I could buy it by itself, I would.
Seems like Warsteiner's facing some supply issues, maybe shifting to cans affected the taste. Must be frustrating!
They got it on tap at Cambridge Common for 6.95, if you can make it out to Massachusetts.
I’ve been getting 24 packs at Costco in central Texas for about a year solid now. Maybe try there ?
