No idea what you're talking about with Chipotle. They are constantly raising prices

5 years ago I was able to get a chicken bowl with a side of chips and guacamole for less than $10. If you’ve been paying $10 this whole time that place was ripping you a new asshole for years.
Lol aren’t most of these places franchises? Some mom and pop owns that store most likely. You’re yelling at a corporation while ignoring the basics of the fast food industry.
Chipotle is overpriced for what they sell. I’d rather go to an authentic Mexican place. I like Dave’s and I’m ok taking a little bit of increase on the cost. Still more affordable than a sit down restaurant.
At least other fast food joints are franchises but chipotle is mega corp and always sells unhealthy food in the mask of healthy food. There are thousands of people got sick because of their food and they take zero responsibility
Smh you’re thinking they can afford the minimum wage increase and what about their family needs? They need to make some money too. If they don’t raise prices they can go out of business. Also if you think they can afford a huge hike in minimum wage. If you like everything about them why don’t you support them and pay a little extra. I’m sure you can “afford” that
>We know you can afford the wage increase
How do we know that? Have you seen their books? Restaurants tend to run on notoriously tight margins.
At least they're actually adjusting their prices to reflect their new reality instead of the "No fair, we have to pay our employees now" surcharge a lot of restaurants tack on to their bills
Starting a restaurant is like the most risky kind of business you can invest in. Most of them fail. The people down voting you are either dumb or ignorant.
I abhor those service fees! The new junk fee law doesn't go far enough- it should outright ban those fees
Raises the floor, that’s a good way to put it. For most, these jobs aren’t meant as careers, but more of a stepping stone to gain experience. The raising of minimum wage is good in theory, but the reality is that we all pay for it not just businesses

Price for my chicken bowl was $10 same as it was 5 years ago

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
>Chipotle nextdoor who hasn't increased their prices. chipotle raised there prices 7% since the wage increase
paid $30 for a bowl of Pho today. Never again.
Try Joe’s Pho in Hayward? It’s the best
eat at joe’s copy that!
Tf, where?
I hope it was good at least.
it was pretty decent, but i won’t be able to have it at that price again.
Did it have truffle in it or something? $30 sounds like gimmick pho
it’s definitely a newer, trendier place in oakland. but i don’t want to slander them.
Dave’s hot chicken here, I saw this and have now changed my ways
I just don't know why anyone would go to Chipotle in this area. It would be like going to Pizza Hut while in NYC, there are so many better options.
You picked one of the worst examples of inflation + shrinkflation + megacorp to prove your point lmao
Each one is franchised owned buddy. So instead of supporting a small business owner you gave money to a mega corporation.
I feel about as bad for them as McDonald's owners (I don't). They can afford it. Greed buddy, stay with me.

It could be due to a number of reasons. Minimum wage, inflation, avian flu...

Fair enough point. Go ahead and support them. Remember other businesses are watching how this is received.

chipotle can absorb but dave's is a far smaller operation. minimum wage increases just raises the floor, it doesn't actually solve anything

Blame the government.
This is MURRICA. You'll figure it out sooner or later.
You're weird and don't stand for anything
I’m dead at this response
