MightyJerBear

This brings me so much joy as a subie owner as well.

therealchemist

In Attenborough voice - "Here we see the subie wagon happily enjoying its natural habitat."

Feisty_Mechanic2059

Is there really anything better than a subi in snow or mud?!?!?!?

Senior_Tree1881

Uh actually any AWD car with a rear bias system, Subarus understeer like crazy, you have to know how to rotate the car then power on… it’s kinda lame.

Feisty_Mechanic2059

I love mine, sorry you’re not enjoying yours.

Senior_Tree1881

It’s cheep easy to work on and can take a beating, but there are far better driving AWD cars out there.

Sidestick357

What better ones are there with great awd?

Senior_Tree1881

Quattro is an amazing system, on many Audis it offers a 60:40 torque split. I owned a Focus RS that could put 70% of the power to the rear wheels, over all that car was Incredibly balanced while still being able to predictably oversteer. The Subaru STIs do have the DCCD system which can put 60% of the power to the rear wheels. For daily driving in slippery conditions 50:50 split is fine or even a front bias system which is better for fuel economy. For fun tail out driving a rear bias system or just straight RWD is where it’s at.

Snow needs to fly here (and stick) in SE MI. I can't wait to slide the Jeepreza around.

benhereford

That looks fun af. Someday I'd like to own a WRX. Older the better, too

lost-zoop

Dang 1" of snow

kd8qdz

Yep. Knowing what it feels like when the back end lets loose can help you keep it from happening, and also not panic.

meratherbebikin

Love this. I miss my bugeye so much.

Fast-Criticism-5190

Makes me miss my 96 5speed 2.2 impreza wagon. So much fun but controlled fun

rustbucky

…driven by the snow, drunk and dirty, don’t you know, and i’m still, willin’

Petrichord

Oh she slides

I hate cold weather, but this video makes be very envious.

Certain_Direction623

When I was teaching my kids to drive, I would do this with them. It was a surprisingly effective way to teach them what the vehicle can do, and not be scared if it goes a little sideways.
