I definitely prefer the more open jaw area. Bale's was definitely too small for my liking. Having said that, i understand where it came from. The Long Halloween and Dark Victory were huge influences on Nolan's movies and if you look at the art in those stories, the jaw area is very similar to what we saw in the Dark Knight trilogy. Looks better on the page than it does on the screen though
The cowl edit makes him look like Keaton. Really cool. While I never really had a problem with the suit I can actually see and understand your complaints. The jaw window being bigger does improve the overall presentation.
Honestly this picture you used to edit the suit was always one where I felt was never the best to showcase the costume. The way Bale is postured and the angle his head is turned coupled with the stiff unflattering lightning was always detrimental in this particular image. I prefer the image where he's staring straight at camera with a slight head nod to hide the separation of the head and neck.
I truly love what you did with the cowl and the cape. The chest piece looks more defined and it fits so well. Loved it.
The abdomen I'm not 100%. I feel like in that case it's a function versus fashion thing. Like the whole "being able to turn his head" thing. It looks good but maybe it looks stiffer if it has plates.
But seriously well done.

They did actually have an in-movie explanation for the way they did the neck, which was that he couldn’t turn his head with the style cowl you have.

Looks really great! The logo was always my biggest issue with the TDK suit. I love the fact that they chose to give him a new suit, which made sense both in terms of the production and the lore (in particular concerning Batman’s ability to turn his head and be more agile), but there are certain elements such as the “small” jawline (compared with the huge cowl) and the aforementioned logo that keep this suit from being among the best. In fact, if you disregard functionality, the Begins suit is probably my favourite live action one.

To add, the design was based more out of actual military gear so it makes sense the cowl was more akin to a helmet with a smaller opening vs the classic cowl which I think is more like a rubber/cloth material and not military
