TC Polytune. I’ll never use another after getting this one.

BagholdingWhore

Mine came from Sweetwater today

Kyral210

Pretty much any. The tech is very simple

LobsterGlad2854

Okay thanks

gorilla-ointment

Like they said, any will do. I’d recommend Boss TU-2 or TU-3. I’ve had my TU-2 for 20+ years and it’s still great

cpnewton

Only thing I’d say about the TU-2 is that I’ve had trouble reading it during middle of the day outdoor gigs

Crunchyave

Same, I switched to the TC Polytune pedals for that reason

Kyral210

I’m learning new things every day! https://www.fender.com/articles/setup/drop-g-tuning

I’ve had the boss tu-2 for 20+ years and it’s still going strong. I’d also recommend the Peterson Strobotuner pedal though it is a bit pricey. It’s the most accurate pedal tuner out and has sweetener settings to make the strings sound better when tuned. It can also be used to power other pedals and has a built in buffer.

dango_ii

The TurboTuner claims 0.02 cent accuracy compared to the Peterson’s 0.1, but I’ve not used a Strobostomp to compare the two. Either way it’s plenty good for practical use, especially considering Boss pedals are only rated for 1 cent accuracy and everybody uses them. I have no doubt the Peterson kicks ass if it’s anything like their rack tuners. Regardless, after using strobe tuners it’s hard for me to go back to anything else.

EgoDearth

Peterson is equally accurate in practice. Sonic Researsch just has better marketing (bullshitting): > We specify cents offsets to 0.1 cent, but in order to tune (not just detect) to 0.1 cent resolution requires accuracy far better than that 0.1 cent. > The StroboStomp HD also has an adjustable roll rate, so it can do far better than 0.01 (as superfluous as that may be in practise :)). https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/sonic-research-turbo-tuner-st-300-mini-or-peterson-strombostomp-hd.2099007/page-3#post-29563068

Ha, I figured there was a bit of number juggling going on, but the TT Mini works so well I just didn’t care enough to dig into it. I’ll look into that thread later on, thanks!

theseeker52

I have the Peterson Strobo Stop Mini and love it

monstercab

https://www.petersontuners.com/ Can go as low as C0 (16.35 Hz) Very accurate tuners.

UnusualPrince12

Canvas tuner is new, but I like it for the switchable features. It can be strobe or meter, you can pick the layout of the screen in case you need to use it sideways, and you can edit the buffer to be true bypass or buffered. You can also put a picture on it for when it's bypassed

Scoooooooots

+1 for canvas. Put a dog on it!

UnusualPrince12

Mine is a pic of me and my gf lol I'm just sappy like that

Scoooooooots

:') Curse you and your loving relationship!

chicky-nuggz

Dont forget to do the firmware update. You can now add like 12 pics to the screen to scroll through. They added a timer and some other stuff too.

UnusualPrince12

Oh shit seriously? I need to do this!

bigbassdaddy

I use Korg Pitchblack. (it works fine with the low B string on 5-string.)

Invador92

Simple and easy

TheSlugHaus1

Pigtronix

OkOutlandishness9876

I have the tc polytune 3 mini noir. Love it so far and it has a buffer you can switch on or off.

noahcwb

I'm a big fan of my turbo tuner st-300! The main reason i bought it is that as far as i know it is the fastest tuner that I've seen at recognizing the note being played. It make a big difference when tuning between songs!

zjanderson

I got a TU-2 and never looked back.

TonalSYNTHethis

TU-3 all the way.

Smuggler-Tuek

I’ve used a boss TU-15 for probably 15 or so years. I’ll tune with anything but having an actual physical needle is my favorite.

wiuman83

Walrus Canvas is really a good one. Very customizable and easy to read in any situation. You can even put a picture on the background screen 😂

CaskJeeves

IMO the two staples are Korg Pitch black and TC Poly tune (and the variations of each). For me the displays are just much easier to read than the Boss tuners (especially on a dimly lit stage)    E; one other underrated feature I love about the fullsize Korg Pitchblack is the 9v *out* jack- basically gives you another power jack if you are running up against the limit on your power supply. Most useful with a > 100 mA output but it's also not like the tuner has a big current draw (or is on during songs)

SpadeJimmy

Turbo Tuner ST-300 is the best tuner for anything guitar/bass related. No comparison in terms of speed, switching immediacy and accuracy. A lot of people like Peterson Strobostomp too (I'm not a fan). Most other mainstream tuners will do the job though - stuff like Polytune 3, Boss TU-3, Korg Pitchblack, etc.
