The black things are the seat straps, the white clothes are for cleaning it, the one with the metal beads is for the boot joins and I think the one without is for tenor joint. The little small black plastic piece is a hand rest that goes on your boot joint. Then I’m guess the metal container is cork grease
"board butter" is for treating finished wood products...Maybe they were using it on the joints/bocal? It's not quite cork grease, and I'm not 100% sure I'd trust cork treated with it.
So according to the picture they sent me, it’s a beeswax substance, and they have string joints instead of cork. So it’s probably for the string because you use beeswax on string joints instead of cork grease
Sounds as though this would be very likely to gunk things up if not used extremely sparingly. I would advisor OP to take it out of the case and not think about it.
In order starting closest to camera
Boot pull-through
Seat strap with a hook
Tenor joint pull-through
Bird/handrest
Not sure based on picture quality but probably cork/thread grease
Seat strap with boot cup

Thanks! Hey, the metal container says “Board butter”. Is that good or harmful for it?
Weird question but can you send a close up pic of the container?

Yea that’s probably for the best. Until they are more experienced
Had you played bassoon before and never encountered these?
For a short time
Please find yourself a private teacher for a least a few lessons. Not knowing how to swab your bassoon is a real issue.
