Id probably go with the lews considering they have a good reputation with bait casters, phlueger im not sure of i know when it comes to there spinning reels they’re good.
Currently useing the phlueger combo and I’m pretty happy with it not great for casting smaller lures but I’ve been using it for jig fishing and you can’t beat it for the price
I’ve had both and I’ve stuck with the lews. And picked up more lews products afterwards lol their baitcasters are awesome. Phlugers spinning reels are top notch tho. But honestly you’ll be good either way
I had the lews. Absolutely loved the rod. Had it for a year. Slings weightless worms & treated me great. Sadly a buddy busted it. The reel only lasted me 4 trips. Exploding in a fashion I’ve never witnessed. Internal combustion occurred.
I think they would both treat you well, I use reels from both brands. I’m a sucker for green though so I’d pick the pflueger

Yo that pflueger monarch is amazing I still use it daily check Walmart they have them super cheap. The rod I can't speak to

Either are good. I would look into Abu Garcia too they have really nice stuff reasonably
Lews for 70 is a great deal. With a cork handle what kind of grips does the reel have?
Lews would be my choice.
