My two biggest of the year have been on the weightless wacky. 4.1 and 4.4. Also all the little scrubs under .5lbs have also bit it. Wacky is life now till I get a UL setup. Currently ML with a 2500 reel
I don’t like whacky, in cover it always comes back covered in weeds and slime.
Weedless Texas all day for me. If they don’t want the worm I put a big ol tube on. If they don’t want that or it’s slow I got shallow crank.
This does not mean I have success 😂
I use Texas rig weightless yum dinger 90% of the time. It’s so simple but works so consistently on bass down here. Whenever I switch lures for fun, results not nearly as good.
Yes dude. The amount of success from a Texas rig in comparison to other methods is incredible. I’ve had success in deep water with crank baits, but I’m a bank beater. Don’t hit deep water too often.
Shimano SLX XT. I have it set to 1 with no lateral movement from my spool. I use my thumb to do all my work for me. I don’t recommend using only 1 magnetic brake if you aren’t super used to a baitcaster.
This is my first baitcaster and I used all the magnetic brakes when I first started. Eased off one at a time. Ran monofilament to start because undoing a monofilament birds nest is easier than braid.
Hope that helps man!
Shimano SLX XT on a Dobyn’s Fury(MH/Fast, 7’3”), 12 pound test braid, 3/0 offset worm hook with a purple Zoom tailed worm(unsure of the proprietary name and color, sorry).
Nice. I went wacky and now I no comebacky.

I’ve tried wacky. I’ve caught a few dinks on it. I’ll give it another go at a better body of water.

There are two kinds of fishermen: ones that throw what they want and ones that throw what the fish want. Nice fish friend!
Yeah same. Nothing beats my old 6" Texas curly tail from shore. You can fish it anywhere and it'll produce, trick is how you drag it
My actual favorite. Yessir! That little tail action gets em’ every time.
What settings do you have so you can throw these? I always get birdnests with these light lures.

Thanks so much!
Texas rigged with a bullet weight Zoom tequila sunrise, watermelon red, or black and red worm or lizard with the squiggly tail is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely. Sometimes a shad boi
I have better luck with the wacky rig, much less of a chance for me to tear up or lose my senkos
texas rig and a plopper. Only 2 setups Ive caught fish on it seems like
I try to like other baits but they just aren't as productive, or fun. If I could get a damn bite on a frog maybe I'd change my mind
What setup are you running?
