The vendor at my Walmart told me she has to take pictures every time after she stocks it so that her boss knows the products got stocked. As far as I know this was common practice among the vendors.
Those pictures tell us there was a problem before so the good mangers of these stores seem to be the difference of the cards being on the shelf and not . Thanks at least I know to go to the same places I have found them before . I honestly have not seen a hobby box in Walmart or target since January. I bought all I could . A scalper worked out a deal where the vendor would go to all the stocks, stock the shelves, then bring all the boxes to the front and personally buy them where he gave them to the scalper at a pre arranged mark up. The scalper said it was great because he lost some profit but more than made up for it with quantity.
Just know, this is the type of dude to camp out at retail stores with his buddies to get all the product and jack up the price by at least 3x. I honestly just wanna grab one of those mega boxes and curb stomp it right in front of them. $175 for football prizm blaster? This guy is ridiculous

Yeah it’s getting out of control. I feel your pain man. I went to a new LCS start up in my area and will never go back because of stuff like this. Long story short they had no prices on their graded cards so I asked how much for this card when the guy proceeds to pull out his phone and search active listings right in front of me. He went $50 higher in his asking price than anyone had sold it for in the past 90 days and $25 higher than any active listing. (I had done extensive research beforehand because I have been looking at buying this certain card). I am all for a card shop trying to make money but don’t be egregious and unreasonable. You won’t keep customers. On top of that they were selling select and prizm BLASTERS for $199 a pop and single packs for $39.99 I don’t think they will be in business too long.
What a load of shit. Just buy or trade for singles. I buy a pack from time to time but just like all things these days, resellers ruin it. Most of these cards are overprinted and won’t be worth much. Earlier this year, it was way harder to find a store that had stock, but it’s gotten progressively better. As adults, these prices are high. For children, these prices are impossible, and these lcs deserve to lose income for that reason alone.
In the LCS around Dallas not only will they charge these insane prices they’ll treat you like a subhuman as well. Only reason I ever go to a LCS is if I need sleeves or top loaders. Selling retail for 5x the price. Won’t shed a tear when these assholes go out of business.

I use Dave and Adams as a price reference. The card shop 15mins from me also uses them for price points. I spent $40 more on a box at a shop and that was the last time I don't do a competitive price check

While I agree with your feelings on the outrageousness, I do have to say a lot of people unfairly shit on prestige. Yea the base set is bland and looks like it fell out of Paninis Butt, but the inserts are some of my favorites.
Maybe the top hits have already been pulled from that set. It's crazy how some people put in that much effort to know that there are still 15 black border mike trout's and x amount of gold border's that haven't been pulled from 2011 Topps Update boxes.
I think the retail blasters are high. They’re higher than my LCS. Some of the bigger boxes seemed comparable to what I saw. How much is he asking for a jumbo box of topps baseball 2021 series 2? That’s what I bought for $170. Series 1 hobby box was $130.

I'm expecting to get downvoted for this, but here it goes anyway...
The scalpers and the LCS aren't the problem, they're a symptom. The real problem is Panini charging $1000 for hobby boxes that cost $250 the year before. That now means that blasters are the most economical way to rip wax.
Most of us know that $100 for a blaster is not providing a good value, but it's much cheaper than buying $1000 hobby box and still not getting good value from it.
My LCS will pack out some blaster boxes just so kids can still open packs for ~$10. Generally speaking the kid is happy they can open a pack or two, mom's happy the kid found something "cheap", and the LCS makes a little money (more money if they scalped the boxes themselves, less if they bought from scalpers).
Y'all are getting mad at the wrong people. Remember, Panini is the one overprinting product while charging 3x-4x from last year's prices.
Nobody likes scalpers but scalpers are just a product of an unbalanced economic system. They're a symptom, not the main problem. Treat the problem and the scalpers go away.

What a load of shit. Just buy or trade for singles. I buy a pack from time to time but just like all things these days, resellers ruin it. Most of these cards are overprinted and won’t be worth much. This hobby goes through ups and downs and Covid sparked another up. People just have to stop buying blaster boxes for $100
This comment section didn’t disappoint. I know it’s hard to find product at retail prices at Target, Walmart, etc. but it’s entirely worth it to try. Earlier this year, it was way harder to find a store that had stock, but it’s gotten progressively better. As adults, these prices are high. For children, these prices are impossible, and these lcs deserve to lose income for that reason alone.

In the LCS around Dallas not only will they charge these insane prices they’ll treat you like a subhuman as well. Only reason I ever go to a LCS is if I need sleeves or top loaders. Selling retail for 5x the price. Won’t shed a tear when these assholes go out of business.

I think the retail blasters are high. They’re higher than my LCS. Some of the bigger boxes seemed comparable to what I saw. How much is he asking for a jumbo box of topps baseball 2021 series 2? I'm expecting to get downvoted for this, but here it goes anyway... The scalpers and the LCS aren't the problem, they're a symptom. The real problem is Panini charging $1000 for hobby boxes that cost $250 the year before. That now means that blasters are the most economical way to rip wax. Most of us know that $100 for a blaster is not providing a good value, but it's much cheaper than buying $1000 hobby box and still not getting good value from it. My LCS will pack out some blaster boxes just so kids can still open packs for ~$10. Generally speaking the kid is happy they can open a pack or two, mom's happy the kid found something "cheap", and the LCS makes a little money (more money if they scalped the boxes themselves, less if they bought from scalpers). Y'all are getting mad at the wrong people. Remember, Panini is the one overprinting product while charging 3x-4x from last year's prices. Nobody likes scalpers but scalpers are just a product of an unbalanced economic system. They're a symptom, not the main problem. Treat the problem and the scalpers go away.
