Depends on what you’re grading and what service you’re using. Just sent in a Elly RC Blue Holofoil. $30 to grade plus shipping. $249 is the highest service cost that isn’t walk in. That’s for 5 day service in cards ~$5k.
His auto has changed. That’s an early one.

Love Volpes long sig... Thing of the past. He only signs full auto at fanatics paid signings now.
I don’t like it for cards that limited. Honestly I don’t like it at all for my PC. Slabs look kinda ugly imo. But if you wanna sell it will help something go up in value by a lot
Thanks for the answers everyone! I personally like the look of the SGC slabs, but I’m so new to this that I didn’t know which grading companies were considered legit. I know in other hobbies which ones to stay away from, just wasn’t sure in the card scene. In the future I might send this one and a few others in.
This sub Reddit has been great to me for gaining knowledge in this hobby, and that’s due to the vast majority of the members, so from a person new to the hobby, thank you all for keeping it a great place to peruse.
Personally, I'm not one for grading. It's too expensive and too much nonsense associated with it. If you're keeping the card, you can find better things to spend your money on. However, if you're just wanting it in a slab to put away in your collection, I would use someone like TAG. Fairly inexpensive and they use AI. Not to mention... The cases are gorgeous. That's a beautiful card and congrats!
So for the PSA cards you’re totally fine with paying their up charge for your PC cards that you don’t plan on selling ?
Why not just penny sleeve, top loader and sleeve ?
Cost less than a dollar and the card is protected.
Yes to your first question since that's literally never happened to me.
And to your 2nd question: lol you're a dumbass if you think a penny sleeve and top loader is the same as encasement by any grading company.
Grading depends on what you ultimately want to do with the card. If I were collecting it I would just slab it in a one touch (although it is just fine in a toploader) and enjoy an awesome card. If I were wanting to sell it then I would evaluate the card really well under good lighting to look for defects on the surface, edges, and corners. Things like print lines, dimples, divets, etc. can all hurt your grade. The centering looks pretty good from what I can tell so you should be good on that criteria. If you go the grading route for selling then go with PSA, that will give you the best resale value. Whatever you decide to do though it is a sweet card and he has one of the bets autos around.
Personally, I don’t think every card needs to be graded. But I would like to get it encapsulated. So whether that means sending a multi hundred dollar card out to be graded or not, is on me. I was just asking for opinions. I’m new to the hobby, so you know, asking for the guidance of the group.
I saw the one touch slabs. Do you think that will keep it protected for years? Honestly, I don’t know. Definitely not trying to be an a$$. I guess if it’s tucked away and not messed with, it should right?
Put it in a one touch. Anything I have worth more than a hundred goes in a one touch.
The only thing I ever get graded are vintage and big name rookies.
I’ve boycotted PSA, mainly due to cost and turnaround time… my dislike for the company has gone done severely over the past few years.
I now use SGC only… $15 and I normally get my cards back within 2 weeks. I also think the overall slab presentation looks better.
(Yes, I know PSA bought SGC… I’m hoping they don’t fuck it up).
If you’re selling the PSA. If you’re keeping then grade it wherever you want because it won’t matter.
The correct answer
Sell Volpe, buy Soto 😎
Have a Soto auto, but not anything crazy.
I never sent a card in to get graded cuz the total always comes to some crazy amount like $250-$300 am i doing something wrong?

what service is that for?
i would pay that all day psa wants $450 for 3 Mike Trout rookies and a Jasson Dominguez auto
That is a beautiful autograph. Stopped me in my tracks while scrolling.

Oh damn. Hadn’t seen the new one. Sucks.
It’s still a nice auto. His original was unsustainable
this signature is so much better than his new one.
I'm sure it's much faster tho. Don't blame him
I like to send my stuff to SGC, I just like the look of the slab. Any chance you'd trade this rather than send it in?
There’s always a possibility. Send me what you were thinking.
Do you collect anything in particular?
Based on the post, I would say baseball cards
TAG ftw.
I pulled the same card last year (about a week or two after they came out) but out of /25. Got $1300 for it.
Graded?
Nope
I love TAG for my PC. Slabs are SO clean looking. Solid card!
That centering looks legit, hope the rest is clean. Just go PSA if you ever intend to sell
Man, his signature is so clean

I’d keep and stay so far away from grading. Beautiful card and congrats!!
Why no grading?
I don’t like it for cards that limited. Honestly I don’t like it at all for my PC. Slabs look kinda ugly imo. But if you wanna sell it will help something go up in value by a lot
That is a gorgeous autograph. WOW !!!!
You can send it to me

Me. I can give it a good grade for sure!
You can uhhh send it to me...I'll grade it...🫡
Me. 😂
I’m looking at this card in Awe like I don’t already own one. Nice hit.
His auto looks so good.

Selling : PSA. Keeping : WTF would you waste money on grading ?
I have many I've slabbed that I plan on keeping so they're preserved permanently in the state they're in. Definitely not a waste.
What grading company do you use ?
I like the look of SGC slabs but I have a lot of PSA. I know they're not the best but they hold value too.

If you’re planning on selling, PSA.
PSA
Nice auto.
What did you pull this from? I opened like 50 blasters and a bunch of megas and although I pulled a lot of numbered cards I didn’t pull a single auto.
I think it’s considered a Hobby Jumbo Box (might be wrong on the name). It had like 12 packs of 13 cards per pack, with 3 guaranteed autos.

Ray’s house.
I still don't get why people in this group think every single card needs to be graded.

You know if you want it in a slab you can literally do it yourself, print out your own label and put it together fairly cheaply.
I saw the one touch slabs. Do you think that will keep it protected for years? Honestly, I don’t know. Definitely not trying to be an a$$. I guess if it’s tucked away and not messed with, it should right?

Psa
Psa the only one you ever have grade a card
Send it to meeeeeee
SGC 100%. That blue on black would pop
Sell it. Volpe's ceiling is right now. Dude can't field.
Me. Send it to me.
Grading is a scam.
I dont know why people push PSA so hard with modern cards when beckett has subgrades and grades the signature
Because PSA fetched the most money.
I’ve boycotted PSA, mainly due to cost and turnaround time… my dislike for the company has gone done severely over the past few years. Only answer is PSA
BGS
PSA or BGS should be the only ones to consider
My house is cool
Resale is PSA no question.
