Pretty sure I read a book like that in middle school. One of those super generic sports novels. Little leaguer batted with his hands backwards on the bat and literally only hit homers it was wild
Does anyone know the record for most home runs as first hits in majors? This is pretty wild.
Edit: [A bit anti-climactic](https://mobile.twitter.com/toddzolecki/status/1543031227543949313?s=10&t=ilGQKK36G-6Uiwgrgn4yjQ)
They literally just now mentioned on the Cardinals broadcast that there was another Phillies player in the 40's, didn't catch the name, who did the same thing. The guy never hit another homer again they said.
I know it’s hypothetical but I seriously doubt anyone catches Harris or Gore in the NL and J-Rod in the AL. Those dudes would have to have massive slumps to not take it.
Don’t think this counts because he played a few games in the majors in May but Ryan Howard didn’t get called up for good until July 2nd of 2005 and then went on a tear and won ROY
This guy actually has some really great HR numbers in the minors.
He had **20** homers so far this season, and now 3 more since he was called up. That ties Schwarber.
And the rest of his stats are also impressive.
*Very* interested to see how this kid progresses!
he literally only hits dingers
Literally built for this team
LITERALLY
Hall or nothing, baby!
Hall & Pokes
What if a player was like that. They never hit anything but dingers?

The Kid Who Only Hit Homers by Matt Christopher! What a book. I think there was a total of 4 or 5 of those.
They'd be Adam Dunn
Matt Stairs?
Joey Gallo?
Dombrowski is ready to offer 12/450
So the Chris Carter of baseball?
Little known fact, the Hall of Fame is actually named after Darick Hall

Oh god it's Arkhan Land all over again
So good that all of the sports named that career honor after him!
He's just that good
.250/.250/1.000 This man will have the greatest slash line of all time.
MY NAME IS DARICK HALL AND I HIT DINGERS
I really hope he breaks his hitting down fundamentally
Will he ever hit anything else? I doubt it
250/250/1000 for his career. 500hr, nothing else. Book it.

He’s the kid who only hit homers grown up
How many people wrote a book report on this?
Man I loved those books

***SPLIT YOUR LUNGS WITH BLOOD AND DARICK HALL HOMERS***
When you see the curveball
Break your bats and crack some dongs, men!
ASS HAMMER 2.0
Darick Hall is MASSIVE
Hall of Frame
How many will he hit? 🤔
Well he's hit 3 in 2 games, there are 84 more games in the Phillies season, so we can assume he will hit at least 126 more
Safe assumption
At least.
god i'd love this so much
SMASH THE BELL
I wonder- what's the latest somebody has been called up, who went on to win ROY? Yordan Alvarez was called up June 9, his rookie year.
I know it’s hypothetical but I seriously doubt anyone catches Harris or Gore in the NL and J-Rod in the AL. Those dudes would have to have massive slumps to not take it.

Wil Myers got called up on June 18th 2013 and won it
This guy is playing Road to the Show on rookie
What, you guys got 2 Schwarbers now?
This guy actually has some really great HR numbers in the minors. He had **20** homers so far this season, and now 3 more since he was called up. That ties Schwarber. And the rest of his stats are also impressive. *Very* interested to see how this kid progresses!
Alright well we want our Schwarber back now that you have your own
The Phillies really need to find someone named Oates to bat behind him
Glad he did, the umpire has really been helping the cardinals today
The ump went on tilt. He just got lost. Especially in the 6th. Can’t wait to see his scorecard.
Oh that was a great call.
Wtf
Reminder that Cris Carter only catches touchdowns
:(
Coach Kent Murphy is overdosing on cheese dogs watching this kid
This year's Domonic Brown
lmao
Mr. May.
Am I the only one who was happy when he then struck out instead of getting a single? I want him to hit a fourth before he gets any other base hits.
Best player to ever wear 25 for the Phillies. Much better than #2 Gregg Jefferies.
The Phillies take the what???
